I just realized I miss a team I never saw never was even alive for the idea of seeing them just brings me with local pride that’s never to be. Today someone told me just support the avalanche but it’s not the same. I want this team back but I never saw them is this justifiable
Were Québec City to grab an expansion, would you want to see the Nordiques again? Or have them go with a new name as Colorado retains it's roots from it with their Retro jerseys?
I personally like the Fleur-de-Lys, but couldn't go wrong with the original Nordique name!
(I also really dislike the Avalanche Retro Nordique jersey, colors do not fit it well.)
Really curious to see what everyone thinks. I do want Colorado to wear their reverse retros in Montreal tho.
Hello from Denver!
In addition to being a Colorado resident, I'm a hockey fan and a dual Canadian citizen. So when I saw that the Avalanche decided to adopt the old Nordiques uniforms for our new Reverse Retros, my first thought was, why would Coloradans feel any connection with deeply French Canadian iconography? Especially after sales of the uniforms went through the roof, I've been searching online for any Quebecois reactions to this, and I can't find much.
I'm guessing there are still Nords fans out there who, like me, feel like this is less of a tribute to the old franchise and more of a slap in the the face to Quebecois who have been denied an NHL team for too long. But I'm not sure! What do you all think? Respectful tribute or cultural appropriation?
Since I am trying to recreate the Quebec Nordiques goal horn from the 1994-95 Season I am curious of what song they used since they didn't use rock and roll part 2.
I think I remember the goal Jackson describes. I thought he had turned the corner that in 1990/1991. His flashes of brilliance were more and more often. I wonder what could have been if he had overcome his problems.
Hey, I'm a North Carolinian but I'm planning on going to Montreal in February. I'd like to try hatching a plan where we basically take over a Habs game. The Habs have one of the biggest markets in the NHL and if we did manage to take over the Habs game then we might be able to get a stronger push on a relocation or maybe a new team. Anyone interested by this idea at all? I know the fans did it once with a Devils game that's why I thought I'd try bringing a bigger and closer approach
How's Lindros been lately?
