I’ve been getting a little too over confident lately and need to plant my feet back on the ground. I feel like something entirely bleak and hopeless will do the trick- give me your best recommendations. Anything will do- movies, books, comics, plays, etc.

Incase you haven’t seen on our Instagram, the first film of our 5 film series for Noir-Vember was Laura (1944). Any ideas as to what film #2 is? We have some extra clues on our Instagram if you’re interested!
Speaking of noir felines…
Sometimes you gotta revisit a book you never read as a kid because it was published when you were already in high school. Really fun. Noirvember in full bloom.
What are your thoughts on a seedy small town setting verses the usual big city for Noir/Neo-noir stories?
Hello,
I'm looking for a film I watched a while back, I think it was quite graphic for it's time.
I remember a woman being murdered by a man in her kitchen in one of the scenes.
The movie was from the 1940s - 1950's, English language.
Edit : I could have mixed this up with another film from the same era, but there's a plot with a marriage but the husband turns nasty shortly after and just wants to steal an inheritance or a family business?
FOUND : BORN TO KILL 1947.
Any ideas?
Thankyou!
I’m looking for modern noir games, books or comics with the hardboiled detective saying sassy stuff all the time, so sassy that I will exhale amused puffs of air through my nostrils. I’d appreciate any recommendations no matter how obscure :)
I really liked Philip Marlowe, the Kyle Hyde saga, and Tails Noir even though the ending was horribly bad.
Edit: Thanks so much for all the suggestions, I’ll be reading all of them.
Looks like it was shot in the filthiest of settings.
Jazzy ass score.
