So I recently bought a gaming monitor for the first time was using a regular TV but now I need it a HDMI converter for my super/64 and don’t want one that needs to be powered by usb because then I have to get a multiport for this one and for my ps2. So my question is is there a way to convert the AV to HDMI without having it be powered? I am legally blind and cannot do the soldering. And teardown Of the system. Tho if this is my only way I can get someone to do. Thanks in advance
Are there people or developers out there making games? If so, are there any notable releases that I could purchase?
Hey guys I am melting on the inside cause of someone stealing an n64 controller I been waiting a month for I now have to wait more if ima play smash 64 🫠
Is there a cartridge containing the entire catalog of games??? To be used with the original console obviously. Thank you everyone!
Hey, I was gifted an N64 a few years ago and it plays great for the most part but occasionally in the middle of playing it’ll just restart. And when it does it gets stuck in a reboot loop, where it’ll show a Nintendo logo and then go to black and repeat until I turn it off and back on again. Happens on any game. Sometimes after 10 minutes. Sometimes after a few hours.
I wonder. Would this likely be an issue with the Expansion Pak? Maybe it’s faulty. Or something inside the console itself? Maybe bad power supply?
It’s all original parts as far as I can tell.
Anyone have any experience with something like this? Thanks.
Found in Holyoke, MA. My sister and I have talked about how much we miss this game for years. The shop I found it at (Stateline Games) has two locations in the Holyoke mall, but with me living in Connecticut, I don’t go to this mall enough to know that they have two shops there. I went to the first one, bought two games after perusing for the consoles we own, and looked for this game — they didn’t have it.
As my sister and I walked through the mall, we talked about how much we missed playing this game. To say it’s probably been our Roman Empire for a while is accurate. All that said, we grabbed a gift for our mom and on the way out, passed the second location for this store. Floored to see the second location, we marched in to see was else they had… and THERE IT WAS! In its full glory, locked in a case with the other N64 games.
Yes we made a scene. The staff at the store definitely got some laughs in as I composed myself to approach the counter, too. I can’t help but think how great it must be from their perspective to watch two 30-something millennials find a childhood favorite.
how much would this be worth if not allowed you can remove
So my partner has mentioned a Nintendo 64 multiple times and that’s exactly what I wanna get him for Christmas, what’s anyone’s experience with a refurbished model purchased from Walmart? Is there a seller that one would recommend? I see them listed on marketplace too but I know that would be sold as is with no returns. Just looking for some guidance while I shop around.
Can anyone make me a Jet Force Gemini emulator save file where you begin Sekhmet Battle Cruiser? I suck at the game and only made it that far once by pure luck and the 100% save has Vela wearing gear that I don't want and I'm trying to dump her from the in game pause menu as the pause menu would work best for me as her feet are flat in it.
NOT ASKING FOR ANY ROMS
Anyone have a 100% save of Jet Force Gemini for Project64 and Mupen64? Specifically a USA save? I tried to convert the save on GameFAQS with savefileconverter.com but that file doesn't work on that site sadly, I need a save for model dumping so I don't have to play through the entire game and besides, I suck at the game despite me really liking it.
Any help would be appreciated!
*I AM NOT ASKING FOR ANY ROMS*
Thanks in advice!
A few months ago, my console started freezing randomly on very rare occasions. As time goes on, the freezing becomes more common, and fast forward to today, and it consistently freezes in Mario Golf. It wasn't my cart because I tried it on another N64 and it worked perfectly, and it also happened when playing the game through an Everdrive. I also tried using another power supply but same result. However, I did find a consistent fix, which was to let the console "warm up" by just sitting in the menu or playing another game for around 10-15 minutes and Mario Golf plays with no problem. Now, this sounds extremely similar to the GameCube disc drive capacitors going bad, which also have to "warm up" first before the console can start reading discs. So does this mean the capacitors on my N64 are on their way out? Would replacing them with new ones fix the problem?
I've been purchasing a set list of Nintendo 64 games. I figure I may as well make the most of it by procuring decently-conditioned CiB copies and so on.
Most of the time, things are pretty straightforward, but in the case of Mario Party 2, I got the inserts from one sale, the cartridge from another, so all I need for this title now is the box.
This would be about the time I would rant ad nauseam about the horrible design model of Nintendo 64 packaging, double time for the North American releases because they're made of shoddy material; That's why more often than not, even when you find a game in the box, the box looks like it barely survived the Vietnam War, but I think that speaks for itself.
Going back to Mario Party 2, I did give buying a remade box off of an Etsy seller, and low and behold, I got bamboozled.
The photos gave me every reason to believe they were perfectly on-model, but then I get it and it sticks out like a sore thumb with it having faded detail/color and it not being glossy at all like the real game boxes are. So it feels like a milk carton.
Any help is greatly appreciated and may be rewarded with root beer.
Hey guys something I adore are games that “could have been” where the concept is so interesting and cool but just kinda miss the mark. I only know of three, and I was wondering if you guys know of any other n64 titles that match this vibe.
Let me elaborate more
I love Hybrid Heaven , the colors are drab and dull, the rooms are repetitive, it’s easy to get lost. Yet, it has an interesting story, an intricate battle style where your body parts and moves level up you can dodge in real time too. Unfortunately it can be manipulated. IE running away from the enemy, preventing him from attacking you at all, waiting to charge up, killing him easily. So many flaws in such an interesting game
Another one is Body Harvest
Such a cool concept, but executed horribly. Vast empty areas that have small towns scattered between, some with consequences if you’re reckless or too slow. If you can’t make it to an area in time, citizens die forever and hurt your ability to progress. You have to be on your toes and complete missions yet it’s so broken I’ve gotten stuck on geometry countless times prohibiting me from completing tasks. I’ve even had run into enemies that are programmed too harshly that I’m juggled to death.
Lastly would be Quest 64
So polished and beautiful when it comes to textures and towns but not so much when it comes to the dungeons. You got another really cool battle system yet it’s so empty and liminal. It was a game that needed more time for sure
TLDR Looking for more unfinished cool games on N64 that had a lot of potential but either inexperienced developers or not enough time.
I have to downsize my retro gaming collection and CRT.
I’d like keep my 64 (Native PAL, NTSC through Everdrive), but I’m not sure about the best way connect it to my monitor.
I don’t have the budget for a RetroTink 4K, and I know a lot to the scalers either don’t work for PAL or don’t accept composite. I don’t know any good modders in my area to do an RGB mod.
Does anyone have any suggestions?
So basically I have been thinking off buying an N64. Is this a reasonable price? Does it worth it? Anything will help!
Does it look like a 64-odyssey mix?
