Upper Valisburg thoughts

How is this neighborhood, Isabella Ave specifically? Looking to relocate here. The part of the street I’m looking at, doesn’t look bad. But you never know. Can’t really trust the areavibes site because it gives the neighborhood where I’m from a D- and it’s a really nice area. Living with 3 small children and commuting so we will be coming home after dark during winter months. And there’s no off street parking for one vehicle.

Desperate times calls for desperate measures..

Hi All,

This may be a long shot but after being homeless for months I was finally able to acquire a place and now (hopefully) a job. I’m located in Essex county and have a job interview in Springfield tomorrow afternoon. Don’t have enough money for an uber or bus, running on nothing right now literally because my unemployment is in appeal after being denied.

Really trying to get back on my feet and hoping someone would be able to help me out someway - somehow.

Fingers crossed!

Who is still calling Broad Street, well... Broad Street? Do you think the name Mayor Kenneth Gibson Blvd will stick?

Breaking Ground?

Interested in everyone’s opinion: if you had to put money on it, which 2 of the more ambitious projects do you think will definitely break ground in 2025?

Newark has several high rises that are just a few feet short from 500ft. Wonder if it will be entering the skyscraper game soon

Newark Airport/Area

Travelling to Newark to spend some time in NYC & flying into EWR. How early should I arrive back at the airport when leaving the city?

Trying to stay on the cheaper end so booked a hotel next to the Penn station, give me all the details about Newark penn station. How safe during the night? Any tips?

114-116 Market Street

Looks as if a proposal has finally resurfaced for the former RKO Proctor's theater building on market Street. Plans call for 38 units and retail on first floor.

Those floor plans are tiny! 439 square feet for a two bedroom. That's worse than New York City. I'd love to see the building restored though. Hopefully it's illuminated at night to showcase that beautiful architecture

Rent Help

Hi everyone, I'm not the one to ask for help but I am at my wits end. I have no problem posting my eviction court notices as well as my apartment ledger to show how much I owe. I owe about 3k in rent. I lost my job at the end of August due to frequent call outs because my Dad was sick and i'm his only child and family member . I've been doing odd jobs and i've been able to pay off some money little by little and while i've been able to get my rent down from 4,700 to 3k, it's not enough and ive been summoned to court. I started a new job on November 1st, I haven't gotten paid yet but going forward I will be able to pay rent but I need help with arrears. I reached out to all of the social service agencies near me and everywhere told me that they are out of funding. I had a church start working with me regarding assistance only for them to start ignoring my emails and texts as my court date is approaching (dec 4). Anything, and I mean anything would help me in this moment. Please dm for cash app tag if open to helping . Your kindness is appreciated.
