Rules and Submission Guidelines

  1. No racism, sexism, or other forms of bigotry. Repeated blatant bigotry will result in a ban. Good-faith discuss of controversial political topics will still be allowed, but bigotry itself will not.
  2. Be civil: no advocacy for or threats of violence, no flaming. Users involved in flaming will be warned, posts may be deleted, and repeated flaming may result in a ban. Threats of violence will result in an immediate ban.
  3. Don't post other people's personal information. This will result in an immediate ban.
  4. Follow general reddiquette. Repeated failure to do so may results in warnings and an eventual ban.
  5. Do not misrepresent yourself, i.e. don't claim to be part of a political group you don't belong to and don't agree with the positions of. Doing so may result in a ban and/or an imposed flair to indicate as much. Those looking to argue in good-faith as opposition may do so, but we strongly suggest identifying your own position.
  6. All submissions should have relevance to New Democrats, be it about New Democrat politicians, Democratic Party policy, public policy, political campaigns, current events, political analysis, policy analysis, questions, discussion topics or something otherwise relevant. Submissions concerning related movements such as New Labour may be allowed, but the primary focus should be US-related; accordingly, such submissions will be held to a higher standard. Irrelevant submissions may be removed at the discretion of the moderators, and repeated irrelevant submissions may result in a ban.
  7. Good submissions will generally take the form of links to credible news articles or detailed self posts, though these are not the only submissions allowed. Submissions from non-credible sources are liable to removal. Posts considered inappropriate may occasionally be removed at the discretion of the moderators; however, if it is not clearly in violation of the submission guidelines, then there will not be any sort of punishment for this.
  8. Submission titles should not be editorialized. If it is a news article, the title should be the headline. If it is a youtube video, the title should be the video title. Generally, the suggested title generated by Reddit will be the most appropriate. Submissions in violation of this rule may be removed, and repeated violations may result in a ban.
  9. Self-posts should likewise have appropriately descriptive titles. Posts such as "Do we like this policy?" or "What do you guys think about my views?" may be removed; posts such as "Should we advocate school choice programs?" or "As a libertarian, where do I have common ground with New Democrats?" would be more appropriate. If a bad self-post is removed, you will have the opportunity to repost it with a more descriptive title; however, repeated inappropriate submissions in bad faith may result in a ban.
  10. Do not resubmit anything that has been submitted in the last 3 days. It will be removed, with a comment redirecting you to the original submission. Repeated resubmissions may result in a ban.
