Anybody know a really great videography course available in NZ? I'm based in the Manawatu but open to distance & online learning. TIA ✌️
Hi there, I am an American who is currently very much in love with Kiwi film. I tend to enjoy the ones that are impossible to find for some reason! Here are the ones I am ISO:
If anyone has any way to watch these, please help me out! It’s tricky because a lot of the time it’s not available in my country :(. I know a few of these only came out on VHS and whatnot, but if there are rips, that’d be greatly appreciated! If there are any leads at all, (even old deleted youtube videos, etc.) please send them. Thank you for your help!
For the filmmakers and tv folk,
I'm looking to up-skill and give my resumé a bit more pep for when the film/tv work around the country picks back up. Can anyone recommend some good industry courses that I ought to look into? I usually work with the shooting crew, if that helps.
Hey Random Question but can anyone remember this nz docuseries that was aired on tvnz maybe 5-10 ish years ago (may been more recent not sure). Where 2 guys retrace the paths that survivors took after an event in the bush or a remote area. One episode was about people off a boat that hit rocks. And other episodes they had a dog that died and they were eating raw eggs. I have done a google but can’t find it. My niece was doing a project on nz bush disasters and ember this being quite good.
Does anyone know where I can watch/rent this video? Synopsis:
On May 7, 2009, police arrived in Napier to serve a search warrant on Jan Molenaar for the growing of cannabis. This was just a routine warrant, something they had done countless times. What was meant to be an ordinary procedure turned into three of New Zealand's darkest days and ended with one police officer dead, two officers critically injured and a member of the public fighting for his life.
The picture is from Amazon prime US as far as I can tell. I’m in New Zealand, and would really like to watch this video again. Thanks
Just basically what the title says. I'm on a quest to watch every movie Temuera Morrison's ever been in, and this is like the one entry from his catalogue I don't have a solid lead on. The only physical copy's a VHS in Aro Video (I'm in the US of A), and the movie doesn't seem to be online anywhere I can find. If anyone knows where I could find it/has any advice on how to find it, it'd be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Hi. My brother and I are from Iceland and he is writing his film theory thesis on the similarities of Icelandic films and Maori films. He has looked for the film Ngati online and in every obscure film store in Iceland but can't find it. Do you know where he could buy it online to watch it?
He is interested in watching Barry Barclays' other films if they are also available somewhere.
I am trying to start up a work from home business making props, stunt weapons, pop culture replicas etc etc and I would love to offer my services to film productions/studios/stage performances.
I have skills in SOLIDWORKS and 3D modeling software and lots of practical skills such as wood fabrication, Welding, CNC programming and operating, generally a very hands on kinda guy. Fit and healthy with a lot of passion for my craft
I'm teaching myself how to use blender and other 3D sculpting programs as I go. I also have access to two 3D printers (1x Creality ender 5 plus and a snapmaker A350 3 in 1 laser engraver, 3d printer and CNC router) and have successfully printed my own models and designs on both. I can use these to not only print fully usable models and props but also to create prototypes that a director/actor could hold in their hands.
If you're interested please don't hesitate to contact me here or via my business email - @armaknightstudios@gmail.com
For a portfolio of my work visit my Instagram or TikoTok under the name Arm-A-Knight Studios
I know these films were shot in Wellington within the last 2 years and I’m dying to get some more info. I have a hunch where the movie theater and town scenes were filmed for “Pearl” but I’d love to visit it myself as these two movies were some of my favorites of the year. Thank you!
Released sometime between 2010-2019. Nz made but can't find on any of the nz film sites. Nz actors.
About a guy who is on a ship, kills one of his shipmates and takes his passport, gets on a doc boat and goes to an island (maybe resolution island) under the dead guys identity who was supposed to go to control pests. But another guy on the island has gone nuts and has sabotaged the comms link and they can't get back off the island.
Made by one person on their iPhone. Pretty cool - all set in a desert and follows a man wandering through it trying to piece his reality together. Worth a watch!
Hiya everyone, wondering if there are any really good movies set in this time period? Films that can capture the Maori way of life, the Pakeha settler way of life, or how the two intersect? Any genre is fine as long as its a good watch. Cheers!

Hi, my name is Becky Stokes I am a Masters's student over at AUT and looking for some help from some fellow students. As part of my research, I am conducting a survey that explores the impact romance movies had on 18-35 year New Zealanders in their youth. If you fit this age range and attended high school in NZ, I would appreciate your participation in this survey. The survey is completely anonymous and should take about 10 minutes to complete. If you would like to participate you can click on the link below, this will open to an information sheet that includes an overview of the study. Thank you for taking the time to help me complete my research. If you have any additional questions that are not answered in the information sheet please get in contact by email - Rebecca.stokes@aut.ac.nz
Does anyone know when or even if "X" is coming to theaters in New Zealand? I know it was filmed here so It would make sense to release here.
Has anyone tried making a DIY green screen stand/mount? The DIY videos on YouTube seem to use PVC pipes but they seem to be pretty pricey in NZ (or I'm looking at the wrong ones, not sure). Any recommendations for a cheap solution would be great. Cheers
I know it's not technically film, but can anyone help me figure out how to see Inside with Morgana O'Reilly? It's on Neon but Americans can't use Neon without a VPN (which I kinda don't wanna screw with). Please help!
