I'm writer and I wrote a feature screenplay... I'm sure you guys here this all the time, but here goes...

So I know making a feature film is a massive undertaking, but the more I think about it, the more this seems like the only way I can ever see the movie I wrote! Does anybody have any advice for someone like me? I've entered a couple of screenwriting competitions and I sent a couple query letters, but unless I actually make the damn thing I just don't know how else I'm ever going to see my idea on the big screen...

So my idea is to spend maybe 10-15k from my savings (i'm middle aged, trapped in a desk job, with not a lot else for me to splurge on) on a low budget version of my screenplay and then with that maybe garner more attention from Hollywood.

Short film services in NJ

Hey people. I’m new to the world of filmmaking. I saw someone posted a link to a short film company that helps people make shorts? Has anyone here used their services/know anything about them?

https://reddieselproduction.com

I wanna reach out to them to see if they can help me make my first short film. Just wanted to see if anyone had any experience with them. Thanks folks.

Syndicate Film School // Jamesburg New Jersey

A New Jersey production company based in Jamesburg has opened up a program for aspiring filmmakers to learn their craft. It's all run by fulltime filmmakers on their off hours at their production office. Teaching folks subjects like advanced cinematography, directing, screenwriting, producing, film business and more. They work very closely with the New Jersey Film Commission and has quite a bit of work under their belt. Seems promising. Link is below if anyone's interested in learning more.

Looking for location

Not sure if this is the place to post, but figured I’d give it a shot. I’ve been planning a short film and everything is pretty much ready to start shooting, the only thing left is getting a location.

The film only has one location needed; a warehouse. I’ve shopped around and reach out to a few locations but haven’t had any luck hearing back from them. Does anyone have any recommendations? Or even any suggestions for similar locations that could work?

For context, the film is a futuristic sci fi (think setting/costumes similar to cyberpunk 2077 for reference) we are looking for a location with a good amount of windows to influence lighting and would appreciate the help!
