We are taking a baby moon at the Mount Washington Resort in January. Where would you suggest eating? At the resort restaurants, or are there places nearby you’d recommend?
Hello all animal lovers young and old!
We have two Jersey calves that we are keeping as pets, and we’d love to have them socialized. If anyone would like to come by for a short cuddling or bottle feeding session, please feel free to DM me.
We are in Hillsborough, NH. We will also have miniature Olde English Southdown lambs available for snuggles in the late winter/early spring lambing season.
I recently moved full-time to NH from outside New England to be with the love of my life. We’re in our 50s. We dated 33-37 years ago and got back together in the last few years. I am trying to find interesting jewelry stores in NH to buy earnings, necklaces, etc for her for Xmas. She’s an artist and has a penchant for funky jewelry.
I know I’m behind schedule, hence my asking for help. I’m in the Manchester area but willing to drive. Also open to places in MA or ME. Thanks in advance!
I’m doing an upcoming podcast on the Wood Devil and was hoping I might find some individuals who have had an experience, or know of a story, or just general information on the lore!
Even if your experience was fleeting, if you have a story of something that matches the description:
7-9 feet tall Grey hair Horse like face Rail thin Move perfect silent Let out a bone curdling scream if seen close
Get at me! Feel free to DM or respond.
Also, I know some people are reading this ready to troll the shit out of me, im ready for it! Lol
But I’m looking for genuine stories/experiences/ lore!
I received a job offer at a hospice based in Portsmouth. The biggest roadblock now is finding a rental that will accommodate our animals. Our current rental is with a big management company with very clear cut rules. They don’t care how many caged animals we have, therefore we have three snakes and several cockatiels. As long as it’s in a cage it doesn’t count as a pet.
We are running into the opposite in NH. They want to know how many cockatiels (14) and how long I’ve had them which is a weird question to me.
Is anyone aware of more pet friendly rentals in the area? I’ve had many of these guys as long as 2018 and hand reared several. Selling them isn’t an option. They’re intended show birds and a long term project I began with my deceased son.
If you’re aware of any landlords who are more open, please feel free to share.
I've been searching but haven't had much success. Is anyone aware of any sort of more traditional type sushi restaurant that just offer simple high quality rice and seafood and maybe even a chef's choice omakase option? I'm especially interested in things like uni and toro. I'm not looking for a place with rainbow colors of soy paper and every sauce under the sun poured on spicy crunchy tuna rolls. If there's something between Manchester, Portsmouth and Nashua, that's what I'm searching for, but I've yet to find it. Any recommendations in Northern Massachusetts off of 93 would also be of interest.
It's been a few years since they've closed, but there was a restaurant called Shio in Portsmouth that used to hit the mark on this type of sushi, ideally I'm looking for a place that has a similar approach.
I had a strange incident in which my vehicle on the way up through NH was billed properly, but on the way back my transponder wasn’t debited. I have the money in my MA EZPass account so that’s not an issue. However, NH did see my license plate and sent me a bill with an additional service charge. It wasn’t much money but still annoying. I’m also not sure if my transponder is even working now.
Even stranger, I spoke with a very pleasant person at the NH EZPass and she removed the extra charge. I asked why if they had my license plate then they could’ve seen I had an account with money in it.
Her reply was, “yeah that’s very strange. They should’ve deducted it from your account.” I would imagine something like this could easily add up, especially if it were intentional.
To make things even stranger, a few days later someone else I know had the same thing happen to them but this time a couple hundred dollars.
Anyone else encounter this? I’m just wondering if I have to go through the MA hassle of sending in my transponder for testing.
It's always beautiful to see wild Christmas trees migrating indoors in droves as December approaches. The roads are packed with them!
Hello! My child has to do a project on the state of New Hampshire. They have Googled the basics (population, statehood, famous people, etc.), but I was wondering if there are any fun stories or festivals that would give their class a better look at the culture of New Hampshire. I was hoping for some of the silly things (like cheese rolling, fishing boat fashion shows, local legends) that make learning fun.
Please and thank you!
I remember being a kid in the nineties (which feels like yesterday) and having snow on Thanksgiving. Idk, barely feels cold on the seacoast. Kinda sucks.
Recommendations for places to get Christmas Trees. Looking to get the whole New England in Christmas vibe, we have an out of state guest and want an experience for this.
Update: Wow thanks for so many responses. I’ll take the Dartmouth Coach from BOS to Lebanon and back. However I’ll need to get to the enterprise rental center in Lebanon to get a rental. My issue is how to get to there from the transit center a few miles away that the Dartmouth Coach drops off at.. 🤔

I have a work trip in Lebanon, NH in mid February and I’m planning on flying into Boston Logan and renting a car and driving to Lebanon, about a 2 hour drive according to google maps.
My question is what should I expect during February in terms of snowfall and any potential highway conditions? I’m from the west coast so I have no idea what it’s going to be like and I’m planning ahead. Flying into Lebanon airport is not feasible for this trip.
Primarily looking for a used anvil. Would prefer driving a little rather than pay shipping for what I’ve found so far.
I'm trying to give local food gifts for Christmas this year. I would love to put together a selection of NH-made cheeses for some gift baskets, and perhaps include other local farm products like spreads too. Please no contributions from the rest of New England, I know Vermont has excellent cheese makers but I'm doing a NH state theme :)
If you know a good co-op or other store I can find a lot of local products, I would love to know as well!
I’m looking for some experience-oriented gift ideas for my parents this Christmas. NH or nearby New England. We have done indoor skydiving before in Nashua as well as white water rafting in Maine and ski tickets. I’ve considered the cow-cuddling at Granite Oak Farms. My mom in particular is a huge animal lover and would love any time spent snuggling with cute little animals. Any other ideas would be greatly appreciated!
Things they wouldn’t want: wine or vineyards, paint and sips, or rock climbing/surfing.
