Known as both "Hub City" and "The Healthcare City" and situated on the banks of the mighty Raritan River, New Brunswick is the Middlesex County Seat, home to Rutgers University, Johnson & Johnson's international HQ, the NJ State Theater, and several world-class hospitals. I just moved into a building off of George Street. I was thinking of getting spring water delivered for drinking water. Is the tap water at least safe enough for washing dishes? I see this water quality report, but I don’t fully understand it. Thought I’d ask some residents for advice :D

Hi everyone I have a question about resident parking tickets. I currently live in New Brunswick but I have two tickets for resident parking. I can prove that I live here but I don’t have the permission (I applied for it after tickets and it’s still in pending approval). Can I plead not guilty? Or it’s better just pay them and wait for my permission parking resident?
Thank you!
Hi all I am a student at Rutgers, and my friend and I (M and F) were involved in a hit-and-run crossing the street around 11:30 PM on Friday night, 11/22.
We were on the crosswalk on Hamilton (near Sanctum Body Art) at the light on Easton, headed towards the Verve apartments, when a black sedan hit my friend first, paused, and then hit me before driving off. Thankfully, we suffered no major damage but are still recovering.
The police camera indicates that it was a black Nissan Sedan, and we also believe the car had tinted windows and was coming from Hamilton (moving away from the Yard) or turning right onto Hamilton (towards the Verve).
However, the police will not continue the investigation further because they only do that "maybe if someone was killed". As you can imagine, this is really frustrating.
If anyone has any information about:
That would be much appreciated. You can contact me here or PM me. Any information, even if you think it is unrelated, could help. Thank you so much.
It smells and tastes off to me and was bubbling when I poured it into a filter. Has anyone received a letter about this or know if anything is happening?
We are looking for in-home senior care for a family member in New Brunswick, NJ. The care needed is ongoing, including assistance with daily activities and monitoring during the night. If anyone has recommendations for reliable and affordable care, I’d love to hear from you!
Edit: On Livingston Avenue, I meant
Please let me know. I have a question ahead of moving in that I'd love to bounce off of someone.
Does anyone have any information on what happened?
I was cleaning out my car in the Walgreens parking lot (off french st, Jersey ave and handy st) when I heard a loud smack and saw a person down on the curb. Another young man was screaming for help in Spanish. A truck/car was speeding away when I looked up but I was not able to see any details. I saw at least 10-15 nearby and started walking over. A lady who was closer said it was a silver truck.
Semi-miraculously, an empty ambulance came down the road 2 min later and the cops arrived a few minutes after that. As I left the parking lot I saw the ambulance roll out.
When I got home I looked for news articles but didn't find anything. I really hope there is some good news for the victim and their family.
I am seeing a show next week at the State Theatre and wanted to know if I can just pay for parking at the garages nearby? Or must you but a spot in advance? I tried using the recommended app and it's horrible so even if it costs more I'd rather pay in person. Thank you!

Does the Mexican Consulate in New Brunswick do dual citizenship applications? And do I need the same paperwork as the NYC one (my birth certificate and my Mexican-born parent's birth certificate)?
Anybody know wtf you are supposed to do if you find someone else's MVC ID card? Yes I googled it. Nothing about it on their website. Lucky bastards don't work on weekends so I can't even call em.
If you see this Mustafa, DM me.
I live in New Brunswick with my roommates, and we all have resident and visitor parking passes registered to our vehicles. My friend from out of town is staying with us, and I was wondering if there is anywhere she could park her car without paying or a permit? Preferably near College Ave campus / Easton Ave. Thanks!

Hi! I've got a job tomorrow in New Brunswick, and am wondering about parking tickets - what's the price of not paying for parking and then if you get that ticket, do you also risk a ticket for overstay of the 8 hour limit? And what cost is that ticket?
I ask because I checked park mobile and was shocked to see the price of 8 hours of parking (37$?!).
I also want to park the whole day, which incurs 8 hour overstay ticket risk.
Basically, I'm wondering if I should actually just risk getting a ticket instead of paying this. Thinking it might be cheaper? Wondering what you locals know!!
Thanks so much!
Hello!
i’m trying to celebrate a sustainable Diwali this year. I usually buy an outfit for diwali but rarely get to rewear it. If you have anything that you are donating/selling for $, pls let me know! I can arrange pick up for the right fit.
I intend to do some sort of payed class in order to make friends (like a pottery class or some sort of hobby workshop) but in the mean time Im wondering if anyone has leads in basically anywhere near New Brunswick and adjacent towns for events, clubs, etc? That are cheap/free or doesn’t assume you’ll be drinking? Suitable for mid to late-twenties, I don’t mean college stuff necessarily. I regularly scope out the nb libraries event but I’m not interesting in a sewing class and they don’t seem to offer much else. Is there any clubs people recommend?
Hello everyone! I am a student at Rutgers University and I am doing a study about how as a community we can uplift mothers struggling with postpartum depression. I live in New Brunswick and am applying to a job in Piscataway, and I don’t have a car. I am enrolled in Access Link, but Access Link doesn’t go to Piscataway.
Folks just a reminder check your windows and locks. Make sure your locking them, robbers target this area because they know yall will forget. My neighbors and I decided to check the doors at night and occasionally look out the window to make sure everything safe like a neighborhood watch. Be safe robberies are up.
