Free parking for non-residents?

I live in New Brunswick with my roommates, and we all have resident and visitor parking passes registered to our vehicles. My friend from out of town is staying with us, and I was wondering if there is anywhere she could park her car without paying or a permit? Preferably near College Ave campus / Easton Ave. Thanks!

Cost of parking tickets?

Hi! I've got a job tomorrow in New Brunswick, and am wondering about parking tickets - what's the price of not paying for parking and then if you get that ticket, do you also risk a ticket for overstay of the 8 hour limit? And what cost is that ticket?

I ask because I checked park mobile and was shocked to see the price of 8 hours of parking (37$?!).

I also want to park the whole day, which incurs 8 hour overstay ticket risk.

Basically, I'm wondering if I should actually just risk getting a ticket instead of paying this. Thinking it might be cheaper? Wondering what you locals know!!

Thanks so much!

Free or cheap ways to make friends?

I intend to do some sort of payed class in order to make friends (like a pottery class or some sort of hobby workshop) but in the mean time Im wondering if anyone has leads in basically anywhere near New Brunswick and adjacent towns for events, clubs, etc? That are cheap/free or doesnā€™t assume youā€™ll be drinking? Suitable for mid to late-twenties, I donā€™t mean college stuff necessarily. I regularly scope out the nb libraries event but Iā€™m not interesting in a sewing class and they donā€™t seem to offer much else. Is there any clubs people recommend?

New Brunswick, NJ postpartum mental health survey

Hello everyone! I am a student at Rutgers University and I am doing a study about how as a community we can uplift mothers struggling with postpartum depression. If you are a mother in New Brunswick or know someone that is a mother of New Brunswick, please fill out this survey or send it to someone this applies to! It would be so greatly appreciated!

What public transportation options exist for commuting between New Brunswick and Piscataway (outside of Rutgers campuses?)

I live in New Brunswick and am applying to a job in Piscataway, and I donā€™t have a car. I am enrolled in Access Link, but Access Link doesnā€™t go to Piscataway.

Folks just a reminder check your windows and locks. Make sure your locking them, robbers target this area because they know yall will forget. My neighbors and I decided to check the doors at night and occasionally look out the window to make sure everything safe like a neighborhood watch. Be safe robberies are up.

Looking for participants for three hour paid research study testing out new technology in Iselin,NJ- pays $250!

Hi everyone, I donā€™t work for the company Iā€™m just a participant like you all- there is a paid research study going on in Iselin,NJ (the office is half of a mile from the MetroPark Train Station and apparently there is a free shuttle to and from the office and train station) looking for participants ages 18-70 to test out a new technological device for three hours and pays $250 via e-gift cards! Iā€™ve done the study twice- I did it with this company and with another research company as well- and had very pleasant, interesting experiences both times. Basically you just sit at a computer for three hours with a technological device around your wrist completing little tasks with your fingers and hands. Pretty easy task and nice pay day for just three hours of participation! Time slots for the study are Mondays through Fridays 9 am to 12 pm or 1:30 pm to 4:30 pm so if you work a full time, in person job five days a week you may not be able to participate, but if your schedule is more flexible, itā€™s a great and easy way to make a little extra cash this month! If you are interested in participating, comment below and Iā€™ll send you a DM with instructions- you can even get signed up today and probably do the study sometime next week or the coming weeks! I am trying to help my fellow neighbors make some extra side cash during these difficult times.

Security guards on George Street

Has anyone else noticed the two guys who linger outside of the 711 on George Street close to where Rite-aid used to be? What are they securing? They wear tan pants and have dark blue shirts. Anyone know?

My gf (20) and I Just moved to new brunswick. Where to meet people?

So my gf and I just moved to New Brunswick. Weā€™re very close to Rutgers campus. We donā€™t go to college, we do digital marketing content creation.

I have friends here, but she doesnā€™t. The issue is she doesnā€™t know where the best place for her to meet people is.

She isnā€™t into partying or clubbing or bars, but is very outgoing and friendly. Sheā€™s down for any activity, but we donā€™t have a massive budget either.

If any of you know great places to meet people that arenā€™t weirdos eitheršŸ˜thatā€™d be super appreciated.

Edibles in NJ

I am in New Jersey for college and I recently stopped smoking weed a few months ago and switched to edibles due to medical reasons. I cannot help but notice there is a bunch of delta 8 in most edible products. Delta 8 makes me feel weird and shaky but when I find edibles with actual D9 (real thc) they are a very low dosage and donā€™t do anything for me. I even tried tinctures but I believe the CBD in them interferes with me getting high. Iā€™m not sure where to find good and strong edibles and tinctures that contain just normal THC without all that man made stuff.
