New Age music is a genre of music intended to create artistic inspiration, relaxation, and optimism.
New-age music includes both acoustic forms, featuring instruments such as flutes, piano, acoustic guitar, and a wide variety of non-Western acoustic instruments, as well as electronic forms, frequently relying on sustained synth pads or long sequencer-based runs.
Vocal arrangements were initially rare in the genre, but as it has evolved vocals have become more common.
There are a significant number of definitions/sub-genres of New Age music
and others.

Hello.. Looking firwatmrd to share my latest piece.. Its a special one (ror me that is)
I think I purchased this box set of instrumental New Age music at a Tower Records in the mid 90s. I’ve been trying (for many years!) to identify what it was so I can listen to it again.
I remember each CD had a different cover with a strong saturated color. I think one was reddish, and one was blue. The blue cover might have had a raindrop landing on a pool of water. I think each CD might have had a title like “Cool” or “Fire.”
Thanks for any help!
The new album Canticle Station is a suite of five tracks by composer Philip Schuessler. This collection, just released on Eclipse Day on Aucourant Records, consists of dark, ambient music with ethereal synth textures and expansive forms inspired in part by the composer’s Gulf South environment where his home studio is based. The five tracks together create a loose narrative on a mythology of the elements. The outer and middle pieces explore aspects of water, earth, and air respectively, while the inner pieces conjure ideas about life beyond our planet. The music was composed using a variety of software synths and modular analog synths. As a composer, Schuessler works in the realm of acoustic chamber music as well as electronic music. He is motivated by such artists as Robert Rich, Tangerine Dream, Grateful Dead, Gerard Grisey, and Morton Feldman. His primary compositional interests lies in exploring the inner life of sounds, sometimes through rigorous procedures and other times through more intuitive approaches.
Canticle Station was mixed by the composer and mastered by Aucourant Media Services. Digital downloads are available now on Bandcamp through the composer’s and the record label’s site. If you enjoy this music, please support it on Bandcamp! It will be available on streaming services beginning May 12th.

Great to see Jesse Peterson & his Turn On The Sunlight project back with more alchemic fusions exploring the still largely unexplored intersection of New Age & Jazz. He's not messing around either, augmenting his multi-instrumentalism with bona-fide legends like Phil Ranelin, Dwight Trible, Laraaji & less lauded sonic sages, to carry the torch of the great 20th century music collectives into the twenty first century gloom & radiate some much needed light & love.

Wanted to share, peace to the andromedans and all the cool people on earth looking up
I heard part of a song earlier today, and it’s kind of stuck in my head.
I believe the opening lyrics are “I am calling to my husband”, and a few verses later cedar is mentioned.
Thank you for your help!
It's been a good week for expansive ambient music & here to join the party is Tokyo's nubo. On his new LP for Western Vinyl he reimagines classic ambient synth sounds, playfully flirts with all manner of field recordings, toys with the sounds of his homeland & deconstructs well worn new age tropes before upcycling them into fluid, forward looking arrangements that dream of better days & a habitable planet.
