Hey everyone,
I just found out about the new IDOlocal food website, and it's perfect for those practicing Natural Farming the Masanobu Fukuoka way! This site helps us connect, share our experiences, and learn new techniques that respect nature.
On the site, you'll find discussions on soil health, companion planting, and other natural methods. There are also groups and programs focused on different aspects of Natural Farming, offering valuable advice and support.
The marketplace section lets us talk about market trends and find buyers who appreciate naturally grown products.
It's a great community for anyone passionate about Natural Farming. Check it out and let's learn and grow together in harmony with nature!
I’ve been making small batch JLF in 64ox mason jars. Steps are unchlorinated water, about a tsp of sea salt and a small potato, boiled until soft and then mashed by hand in a mesh bag and placed in the water. Add a small handful of leaf mold and seal it up.
3 attempts now and zero activity of any kind which is a first. Normally I have a layer of bubbles within 24 hours. What could be causing this?
Hello. We are creating a natural farming project on our land and are in a search of finding suppliers that sell organic hay and straw to ship us or to pick up in the Temecula area (Riverside county Southern California. We thought to ask around. We hope to read any suggestions from you soon. Thank you
In natural farming and no till efforts I've found the European/Austrian scythe to be an invaluable tool. And one that demands a huge amount of knowledge and skill from its user :) Very challenging, but very rewarding. So versatile and useful, I can't imagine NOT having one. And yet they are still fairly uncommon...
I know Fukuoka-san made use of them (Korn mentioned him mowing his orchards twice a year with a scythe), although I have zero info on which styles he may or may not have used...
Anyone else using scythes? It would be nice to find others online to talk about the details of the care and use of them. Thanks for reading! Now I'm off to mow...
Hi all I have an abundance of black berrys that grow by me. Has anyone ever made FFJ out of blackberries?

I finally got a copy of Fukuoka's One Straw Revolution from Amazon.co.jp. I have been reading the free English translation for many years now. This Japanese ebook is a must have in my collection of good books.
Hi guys, I intern for the NCNF (National Coaltition of Natural Farming), which is a government body based in India. A study showed that the information available online for natural/organic farming in India was mostly false or scams. Thus we intend to create a database of knowlege providing poeple, suppliers, institutions that provide quality training on organic/natural farming and soon. It would be great if you guys could drop any details you know or links. Thank you.
International details are also welcome.
After reading One Straw Revolution, Ive been really interested in learning more about natural farming. I am looking to gain some first hand knowledge and experience with natural farming this summer so I was wondering if there was anyone that knew of some good farms in the US that practice farming the Masanobu Fukouka way. I would be really grateful if anyone could share any they knew of. Thanks so much!
