A few early birds show up before 6pm. Peak time is 7:30, and on busy nights we're around until 10-11pm before calling it quits. We're typically inside just past the jukebox but when the weather is nice we sometimes take advantage of the outdoor dining area. If you can't find us, just ask the staff for NYC Meetups and they'll point us out.

Hey there, I hiked last week and caught some autumn leaves and think this is the last weekend to take it all in before the leaves fall.

Thinking if we get up high like on breakneck ridge, we could get a good view of the surrounding area and see autumn leaves.

The UWS Hangout group is meeting this Sunday for a chill workout in Riverside Park. The idea is to hangout and do different things like jogging/walk/sprint, pull ups, push ups, sit ups, basketball and other games. No pressure, everybody chose what they want to do and at which intensity. You are welcome to bring any game equipment like a frisbee, football, a skipping rope, you get the idea. I'll bring badminton rackets.

Hi, I'm a 39M longtime NYC resident. My wife and I live in UES and recently became members at the MET using the NYC resident program. I love art history and literature associated with art. Wanted to start this thread to see if there are any other folks who might be interested in meeting once a month at the MET to explore different galleries, MET expert talks, or just meet socially to grab drinks and chat about art history and associated literature. If you have any suggestions for groups that already do this, let me know! If not, hopefully, we can get something regular going that keeps it fun and light-hearted.

If you've been able to register for the Sunday 11/24 event, let's plan to meet inside the MET by the Temple of Dendur (right by the twin statues of Amenhotep III facing 5th Ave entrance) at 1:15 pm. I'll be wearing a black sweatshirt and a black NY cap. The talk will be in the Egyptian wing at the Grace Rainey Roger's Auditorium. Even for registered participants, space fills up, so it's not a bad idea to head over around 1:30 pm to the auditorium. Your NY resident proof (library card, driver's license, or any other state ID) can give you pay what you wish access to the MET for the afternoon. The first meeting of People Who Thrive in October was a real success, so I want to hype up our November gathering!

At every People Who Thrive event, a speaker talks for 10 minutes about a time in their life or their career when they asked for help, and receiving that help had a transformative impact.  Then, everyone has one minute to address the group and share their elevator pitch, an "ask" (something they need help with), and an "offer" (a way they can be of service to others).  When the floor is open for 1:1 conversations, it's easy to walk right up to someone you can help, someone who can help you, someone who is working on something inspiring, or someone who you might want to be friends with.

The idea behind the event is that we have this notion that very successful people became that way because they put their heads down and put in the hours as they pursued their goals.  But most truly successful people share that they had a lot of support.  New York City is a vast and diverse city full of go-getters, but pretty much everyone is looking for the same thing: a community.
