REPOST 29F Roommate Search for Future Move

Hi there! I'm reposting for clarification. There seems to have been a bit of confusion with my original post.

I’m looking for a roommate for an upcoming move between December and February. I’d love to supply most of the communal furnishings. I've curated my current space over the years and would be sad to let it all go (see photos). If you’re planning to move around the same time and feel my post resonates with you, I’d be excited to connect! More info below.

I 29F have a MAX budget of $1,400. I have good credit and a solid rental history, and I share my current space with two wonderful cats. My preferred locations are Manhattan, Northern Brooklyn, or Northwestern Brooklyn. Ideally, l'd like to have one roommate, but I'm open to two if it feels like a good fit.

I welcome all genders, ages, and backgrounds as long as there's emotional maturity and you are able to maintain a clean and respectful living environment. Good communication is key for me, as I want our home to feel safe and welcoming for both of us.

A bit about me: l'm clean, quiet, and organized, with an eclectic minimalist style. I rarely have guests over, but when I do, it's usually for a casual catch-up over a glass of wine. I enjoy cooking simple meals—typically rice and fish—but I have no dietary restrictions. I work as a leasing consultant in Manhattan from 9 AM to 6 PM.

As for my cats: Kimchi is an 8-year-old calico who loves attention on her own terms and prefers not to be picked up. Kat is a 14-year-old tabby who enjoys being held and is very affectionate. You'll often find them lounging around or napping in various spots.

If this sounds like a good match for you, please reach out! I'd love to grab a coffee or brunch to see if we click.

Looking forward to hearing from you!

M22 Looking for roommates to search for an apartment with (December move-in)

Hey guys. I'm a recent Northeastern University graduate moving to NYC in December 2024 for a full-time accounting position. I'm looking for roommates to share a place, ideally within commuting distance (<1hr) from Midtown Manhattan, near Grand Central.

A little about me: Clean, respectful, and pet-friendly. Job is hybrid with overtime so will prob be out of the apartment mostly on days I’m in the office. When I’m not working I like cooking, gaming with friends, working out, and filmmaking.

If you’re in a group looking for another roommate or if you’re also moving and want to search for an apartment together, shoot me a DM!

Budget ideally <=$2000

Update: Found another guy looking for a third

Looking for 1 more for Bushwick apartment ASAP

Hi all,

Me and another are looking for a third for a 3br3ba Bushwick apartment ASAP! We hope to find a third and send the application over early next week for approval. The remaining room is $1250/mo, there's no brokers fee, the apartment is close to transport options, and there's an in-unit washer/dryer! Contact me and I can get you a tour :) Prefer LGBTQIA+ individuals but as long as you're chill I'm sure we can make it work!

Need decent credit/income, but guarantors are also welcome!

About us:

Me: I’m Alexa, I’m a 25y/o trans woman who’s about to start a tech job in midtown. I have one cat who’s skittish but very friendly. I’ll be working in person, so out of the apartment 8-7 weekdays. Generally keep to myself, but happy to socialize and hang out as well! I’m quiet, pay bills on time, and I wouldn’t call myself a neat freak but prefer a generally clean space.

Andrew: Hey my name is Andrew. I’m a 22 year old recent college graduate relocating from Connecticut. I work for a tech company in manhattan and am remote 3 days a week. I’m an outgoing person that is organized and likes to keep a clean apartment. Some of my interests are fashion, running, and cars.

24M Looking for roommates in LIC in November

Hey all, planning a move to NYC some time early-mid November. Was looking at apartments in LIC, particularly Jackson Park. Would be down to share a 2bd or 3bd!

Some info about me, I'm a software engineer working hybrid in Manhattan. I'm into video games (pc + ps5), movies/shows/anime (watching Industry rn, hyped for Dandadan), weightlifting, playing classical guitar, and finding fun stuff to do around the city!

Not really one to throw parties or anything like that, might have the occasional kick-back but generally a pretty quiet lifestyle. Will most likely be doing stuff outside the apartment if anything.

Hmu if interested! Would love to be roommates with someone who shares similar interests/lifestyle

Hi all,

I (26 M), am going to be starting a tax internship at the beginning of January and I'm looking relocate to Manhattan or near the East River.

I don't have any leads on apartments yet but I'm scouring everyday and it's only a matter of time until I find a suitable place. If you have one, let me know! My budget is $1200-$1700.

Hi! What age do people party and stuff until?

This might sound silly to some people! If you find it silly please be nice! I started college in 2017, took a year off in 2020 due to covid, and finished in 2022. But to be honest around 2019 I started working full time and then covid hit and I had virtual classes/everything for the rest. : (

Then, since graduating l've had a super stressful job while living with my parents at for the last 2.5 years. So long story short, I feel like I haven't really had much "fun" since like 2019 and also I feel like the last 5 years or so have been very boring and l've missed out on fun.

Now, I just turned 26 and moving to the city soon but I feel like everyone is getting older and people my age (mid or late twenties) won't want to party or go out and do things as much. The last thing l'd want in life is to get married/have kids/buy a home right now. If anything I feel like I'm still 23 or 24 hahah and I just want to party and do things on weekends.

Is this too much to ask if I move to the city and will I be able to find friends in my age range (23-27) or so who want to do the same??

Looking for Room / Roommates

Hello everyone,

I am a 22 year old recent college grad who is moving back to the city to begin a new job. I will be working in tax consulting and will be spending a good amount of time away from the apartment. In my free time, I enjoy playing basketball, golf, and exploring the city with friends. I am looking for potential roommates who are similarly aged and would like to find a place for late October/ the start of November, as well as any rooms available. My budget is 1500-2000 and I am looking for places in Manhattan as well as neighborhoods in Brooklyn that can access Manhattan in 30 minutes or less. Please let me know if interested in being a roommate and we can work something out, or also message me if you know of any rooms available that are within my budget and criteria.

Thank you!

Looking for sublease takeover - Harlem 2 bedroom starting Nov 1

Hello everyone,

I recently moved to a 2 bedroom in Harlem close to the 2/3 135th st station. I like it a lot however I will need to move back to home to care for an ailing relative. I am looking for a sub letter / preferably a lease takeover for a 2 bedroom on the 15th floor in Harlem, Manhattan (laundry in building, and pet friendly) for an November 1 move in. No security deposit required, please just pay first months rent $1300. All utilities included except A/C unit is $51 per month. Room will be be furnished with a bed (on a bed frame), 2 dressers, and a desk. It doesn’t come with the TV or the big dog in the photos lol. If you don’t want anything i can always clean the room out.

Because the apt is rent controlled, the lease is technically good until Sep 2026, but you would have to let my roommate know if u wanted to leave before then. You would be living with my uncle/roommate a very kind and quiet LGBTQ+ 60M with a sweet Terrier dog named Zeus. Zeus LOVES people and other dogs, but he mainly just chills alone during the day.

Please PM me with any questions or inquiries! I can also send full length videos of the room and whole apt is requested. Thanks everyone!

22M looking for a room or roommate(s)

Hey everyone, just wanted to post again as dates got closer. Looking for a room or roommate(s) with a max budget of $2,200 with a start date either 10/15 or 11/1 (if getting more roommates is better for living would be open to that as well). I’ll be working in consulting so I am imaging i’ll be spending a lot of time in the office but would like to explore nyc as much as I can. I am a huge fan of going to the gym, going to concerts, snowboarding, hiking and traveling. Looking for someone around my age who is clean (if you are not clean I don’t think we would be a good match), and easygoing. Ideally looking in the neighborhoods within manhattan or somewhere that can get me to penn station within 30 minutes. If you feel that we could be a good match, dm and we can message more.

25 M Looking for Roommates NYC

I’m having problems with my apartment and have to move out. It was an attic apartment, which apparently my landlord wasn’t supposed to be renting out and now he’s pushing to get me out by December. I’m okay with moving in with anyone, but have a tight budget of $1,000. I’m willing to pay to cover utilities as well. My current room is 10’ x 13’ so if you have a comparable space, that would be great!

I understand the price might not be great, but I have a lot of furniture I can bring that I’m more than willing to let you use. A couch (practically brand new), a TV, gaming consoles, and books. Pots, utensils too. We can set up a meeting and discuss!

Thank you!

30F Lawyer Looking for Private Room in Manhattan

Heyyy, I’m a 30F lawyer looking for a private room in manhattan (UWS, UES, or anywhere in lower Manhattan). I work completely remote. I am extremely clean. I’d rate myself an 8/10 on cleanliness. I’m introverted and rarely have guest. My budget is $2500/ Month. Female roommates only, preferably 25+ in age, young professional.

I currently live by myself in East Harlem and realized I’m overpaying. I don’t have pets and I’m really flexible. Plus I miss having roommates! My lease is ending this month. I’d need to view the place and meet roommates.

Looking for roommate(s) or solo apartment

Hello,I am looking for an apartment for myself, but am also open to having 1 roommate if we both feel it could be a good fit! Will be moving to Brooklyn for work and want to settle in during this month. New job starts early November 2024. 37yo M from the Rochester/Buffalo area that works in medicine and starting over in NYC. My schedule will vary weekly with 3x12s on site, so I will not really be around for those days. I really enjoy traveling, cooking, live music events, dogs (will not have one though), watching sports/movies and just hanging out. Will have a car. Willing to spend up to $2500 for an apartment for myself and $1800 with a roommate, depending on how the place is of course. Preferred neighborhoods; Greenpoint, Williamsburg/EW, ParkSlope, Bushwick, Prospect Park, Bed-Stuy, Gowanus, Red Hook, Boerum Hill, Fort Greene, Clinton Hill, Sunset Park. I am an extrovert, but really enjoy spending time alone too. Being friends and hanging out would be great, but I can also respect your privacy completely. Comment or send me a message! I will be in Brooklyn setting up showings/appointment over the next several weeks. In the market for short term, long term and subletting options. Looking forward to speaking with you -CJ
