Jam tonight (9/13) after the Flatwounds/No Love Songs/EAT show at Young Ethel's in Brooklyn. Jam will start around midnight, until 1 or 2, depending on the crowd.
Bring your instrument or your drumsticks. Full backline.
Venue: Young Ethel's, 506 5th Avenue, Brooklyn, NY 1125
Hey all,
I've been playing bass since 2001 and I've played in a bunch of punk/rock bands over the years.
Venue's I've played: Union Square twice for Earth Day, Bowery Electric, Fontana's (RIP), Arlene's Grocery, Trash Bar (RIP).
As time has crept up I'm now in the 40-ish category so I'm out of the age bracket for a majority of bands on here (lol) but maybe there's a band (established singer, drummer, guitarist) out there looking for a bass player/ basic backing vocals.
I always play a low Fender P-Bass and prefer Eb tuning personally. I live in Manhattan and hoping to practice in the city as I work 9-5. DM me if your looking for someone!
I'm new to New York and am looking for some like minded artists to hang out with. I write music, sing, and play guitar and would love to jam with some people. I mainly play post punk, punk guitar. Looking for potential band mates/shows we can play at together/help each other out at shows with drums, guitar, vocals etc. Feel free to message me here or my instagram @ dukeofobninsk
I am the bass player, we meet up once every week or every 2 weeks to practice standards in midtown Manhattan and would love to have a drummer as well as horn players (Sax, Trumpet, trumbone etc.) join us. We are 9-5ers so nothing professional but we want to regularly practice and improve. Here is a soundcloud sample of what we sound like, please DM if interested! https://soundcloud.com/jonas-hayes-844535763/michiko-session-08132024-almost-like-being-in-love-full-take?si=a3b0af512a6e4b9198b20335e242aa8a&utm_source=clipboard&utm_medium=text&utm_campaign=social_sharing
whatever you instrument you play and want to network for this type of thing, also DM!
Any fans of STP out there? If so you're going to want to check out this free show on Friday. Flatwounds, from Albany, is a young band that sounds straight out of 1994, and their hardcore pals Bad Impressions are coming along for the ride. Locals NO LOVE SONGS and EAT are hosting.
Come support the heavy rock scene in New York!
We’re a post-hardcore/emo band based in NYC. We have an EP’s worth of songs written, two of which you can listen to at the link on our profile. We’re planning to professionally record the EP in October. Looking for a bassist, ideally age 25-35. DM if interested!
Hello!
We are a new indie rock band and looking for an experienced drummer to join the project. About us: we're two guitarists, a bassist, and singer, in our late 20s/early 30s. The vibe is dream-power, think indie jangle with dissonance - so far the the touch points have been Hop Along, Shame, Ratboys, Jay Som, The Beths, etc.
We're looking for someone with previous band experience who is reliable and committed to a schedule of rehearsing at least once a week (bonus points if you already have a space we could use!) with an eye on gigging / recording in the near future.

🎶 About The Medley
To introduce ourselves, we're a new social platform giving local musicians an easier way to discover and connect with artists in your own neighborhood. We're launched exclusively in Brooklyn, and just held our launch party / concert this July! We had over 100 attendees, concert ticket giveaways from Red Bull, and free drinks from Brooklyn Brewery. We're super excited to keep growing our community and to hopefully host more events like our launch and next week's open mic in the future.
stumbled across this page on instagram called HOUSEOFAURA_NYC , seen a few artist in the rap / r&b scene on a bill & decided to go to one of the shows at a spot called OS NYC, ended up having a really good time. has anyone else heard of them or attended a show?

The genre I enjoy playing most is alt rock. I play bass for another band, so we could get gigs going pretty quickly. I’m 28m looking for someone in my general age range.

Hey everyone! I'm a 25-year-old vocalist with a background in musical theater, and I'm on the lookout for a band to sing with. My main interests lie in pop, jazz, indie, and folk music, but I'm always open to exploring other genres.
If you're a band in need of a vocalist, or if you know of any opportunities, I'd love to connect! Let's make some music together. 🎶
hey, looking to add more music to my life. I've been singing my whole life (+choir/a cappella throughout hs and college) mostly r&b, pop, country! DM if you're interested or know of a scene to meet other people who are interested!
Guitarist M30. Play alt music with punk/emo influences.
Just looking to meet some new people and get some jam on. Any genre or instrument is cool!
I have band and jamming experience. Laid back from LA. Likes to smoke pot
Hey! I’m a singer-songwriter (22 F) in the NYC area looking for a guitarist/pianist, to accompany me at live shows and gigs I’d like to perform a couple of covers as well as some of my own material and get started rehearsing as soon as possible Let me know if you are interested!
I have a solo project I’m finishing up all recording and mixing myself. Ideally I’d like to form a band to play that material for some time exclusively but also branch into its own thing eventually. Trying to go for a collective kind of thing. I’ll help others out with their solo stuff too but we all contribute to the main thing as well. I’m also learning how to do visuals like green screen videos and graphics. I’ll link my most recent song that I’m getting ready for release.

Guitarist and drummer looking for bassist or guitarist even. Genre-wise, I think we're in the 90s/2000s alt. rock, shoegaze, post punk camp for now. I can send improvised jams we came up with so you can get a sense of what we have so far if you are interested. We are big fans of music like diiv, preoccupations, pj harvey, massive attack, no joy. We jam in a rehearsal studio in Ridgewood.
Hey all, I’m an electric bassist located in Brooklyn. I Play a lot of rock and funk but am looking to get into playing more jazz and learning some standards / jamming. I’m not super experienced with playing jazz but am looking to get a lot better, have a good time, and enjoy some tunes. Please DM if interested. Thanks!
Hey I’m the guitar player in a pop rock band, our regular drummer will be out of town so we need a temporary fill in for one show at Pianos on Saturday September 14. You’ll be paid $25/hour for rehearsal plus $100 for the show.
It’s really fun cool music but we take this gig very seriously so no drinking or partying of any kind during rehearsals or pre-show or show. If you’re experienced and focused and can follow that vibe DM me ASAP cuz we need to lock this in sooner than later. ThanX!

Have decent enough theory background to improv, transpose songs into different keys etc. and currently studying jazz guitar.
Open to pretty much any genre, I have a pretty broad music taste and listen to a lot of Indie rock, midwest emo, math rock prog rock etc.
Really just looking to have fun and improve.
Feel free to reach out if interested.

Hey community,
We are a couple months into forming a new indie rock band and looking for a bassist to join the project. We have several demos ready to be rehearsed, but every member is encouraged to share in the song-writing so we can build our sound together! The vision is jangly, melodic rock with a little dissonance - so far, influences have been The Sundays, English Teacher, Hop Along, The Beths, Jeff Buckley, etc.
Ideally, you're an experienced bassist who has been in a band, writes songs/parts, and is passionate about writing and performing together. We're looking for someone who is reliable and committed to a schedule of rehearsing at least once a week - we typically rehearse in Times Square for 2-3 hours at a time. Someone who is kind, open-minded, and down to clown is a must~
Here are several instrumental tracks in the works. We are in our late 20s and have a female vocal who toplines with melody and lyrics.

If you dig the tracks and this sounds like you, please reach out with examples of your style and we can take it from there :). Thank you!Seeking bassist for new indie rock band (jangle, melodic)
