hey friends - ive been playing guitar & flute off and on for like 12 years (im 24). i would truly love nothing more than to play with other women in a low stakes way. i was in a band a *while* ago, and it was so much fun. i learned and grew so much, and it was a great way to stay dedicated to practicing. i don't think i'll want to perform. i just miss playing with friends and don't know anyone who is at my same skill level-ish (beginner feels wrong bc it's been so long, but also im out of practice). comment or dm me if you're interested!
Hey Redditors, we’re hosting an OPEN MIC in Bushwick next Tuesday, and it’s all about connecting with other local artists and expanding your circle.
📋 What’s the deal?
🎶 About us
We’re The Medley, a new social platform made to help local musicians find each other—whether you’re looking to jam, collaborate, or just hang out with people who love music as much as you do.
We launched exclusively in Brooklyn this summer with a killer party (100+ attendees, free drinks from Brooklyn Brewery, Red Bull ticket giveaways), and now we’re hosting events like this open mic to grow the community.
Come perform, meet other artists, and connect with Brooklyn’s music scene IRL. Let’s keep building something amazing together.
Hello! I’m a 26 year old, Male, new vocalist looking to form a metal-core band. I’ve been taking vocal lessons for a few months and don’t plan on stopping until we’re ready. Some influences: Linking Park(of course), I Prevail, Bring me the Horizon, Starset, and any AMV from 2007. I have some demos and ideas if anything. Let me know if you’re interested!
hi! looking for a band to play with at a venue close to new jersey with a lot of time to rehearse. band genre is pop/rock! inspirations are one direction, nsync, backstreet boys.
I’ve been playing the bass for a little under a year and I’m interested in meeting other musicians who have the same interest in music as I do. Open to writing, jamming, or simply talk music. Some of my favorite bands are my bloody valentine, vein, deftones, System of a Down, nine inch nails, and placebo. Located in Queens but I can travel out to Manhattan easily
Hey y’all I’m looking to join a band looking for a lead vocalist. I’m from Brooklyn and I’ve been singing for about 10+ years here and there but if you get me in a studio, I will belt my heart out. You won’t be disappointed! So dm me and can’t wait to start making some music!
Got a private studio in Manhattan. We have friends jamming. Just looking to solidify a couple more ppl so we can collaborate. Strokes, Lou Reed, Kid Cudi are main influences. Looking for Drummers and Bassists.
Hi I'm a 20 y/o vocalist and I was interested in joining an Alternative band ( like My Chemical Romance , Blur , Pulp , Smashing Pumpkins )
I (mid 20s M) have been playing piano for some years, jazz for 2 of those, and looking for fellow late-beginners to get my feet wet jamming with other people in a laid back/beginner friendly setting
Mostly looking for bass and drums but anyone is welcome, drop me a comment or a dm
Location flexible

Hey everyone,
24M here living in UES looking for some people to jam with. I recently moved from Bushwick where I had some people I’d play with, but we’ve lost touch and I’d love to re-kickstart a similar thing.
I’m a guitar player willing to do rhythm or lead. Have never played live but aspire to do so in the near future once I get more experience playing with a band. Not looking for anything too serious, but rather an opportunity to learn, push each other, and get reps in!
I play both acoustic and electric with some of my favorite artists being Grateful Dead, Allman Bros, Neil Young, Billy Strings, Willie Nelson. Feel free to shoot me a message if you’d be interested in linking!
PLEASE listen to our rehearsal phone recordings here before contacting us

We’re a 3 piece looking for a drummer. 90s-alt rock, shoegaze etc. Think dinosaur jr, mbv, julie, sonic youth.
We’re all in our 30s, play once a week, and have our own space to practice in Ridgewood. It’s a chill project, priority is writing music and diy recording but we’re down to play shows again once we get a drummer that’s a good fit.
DM me if you’re interested and we can swap music
In the East Village. Looking for artists to make original music with. Not trying to charge anyone anything, just looking for people with free time who love making music. Would love to send unreleased stuff I’ve worked on, but here’s some stuff I’ve produced:

Hey guys, I recently moved into nyc (midtown area)! I wanted to step out of my comfort zone a bit and meet new people, especially through music
I’ve been drumming for 10+ years, mostly just through school and the occasional festival with old friends. I usually do jazz, funk, soul, R&b type music but I’m pretty open minded! Something to note though - I don’t have drum gear with me (typical small apartment problems lol)
Feel free to dm/comment if you’re looking for a drummer or just want to connect :)
Edit: just joined insta! @arunmusicnyc

Hey all,
I'm a multi-instrumentalist/producer/singer, 31M, based out of Bed Stuy. I'm looking for local musicians who are interested in joining a psychedelic rock group!
"kromacult" has been a passion project of mine since quarantine. kromacult is hypnotic, groovy, dystopian, melodic, surreal, provocative, psychedelic, dreamy, droning, dark, and dynamic. You can hear some WIP demos here: kromacult
kromacult is seeking: (1) a drummer, (2) a bassist, (3) a lead guitarist, (4) a producer/synth extraordinaire. The ability to harmonize is ideal.
Until now, I have done all of the above. Some exciting progress is being made and I have reached a point where I would like to socialize the fun. My goal is to juggle guitar, synths, and singing live. Your assistance on your respective instrument and harmonizations would be appreciated.
It is my hope to make something truly collaborative. If we come together and enjoy each others' company, artistry, and vision, I would consider you as much a part of the creative process as I am. For the debut, this means collaborating on the existing ideas/arrangements and extrapolating/developing them together for release. For future releases, this means generating and collaborating on original ideas together.
Doesn't matter where in Brooklyn you are, but practicing will likely happen in Bushwick and much of the recording (that we don't need a studio for) will be done at my home studio in Bed Stuy.
Looking forward to hearing from you. Please send along any clips or recordings if possible. Thanks!
Looking for a synth player/keyboardist to join our band, Young In France. Indie/Pop/Post-Punk music. We have two EPs out and are searching for one or two people to help elevate our sound (more atmosphere, cinematic, classic simple key parts, etc). Can be just keys, just guitar, or both. Whereas our recorded stuff is somewhat guitar-forward, I'm aiming to push this in a slightly different direction.
If you love melodies, hooks, and no bullshit music, would love to hear from you. We've been playing a bunch of great shows, just released an EP, have had some songs played on WFUV, and are hoping to get some solid attention this year.

Please DM or email if interested. We rehearse in Williamsburg.
Hi, I'm looking to form a goth/deathrock/ethereal wave band.
Looking for drummer, guitarist and co-vocalist, all who I want to contribute with songwriting/composing.
Looking to make music that takes cues from early Cocteau Twins, Bauhaus, Slowdive, and 45 Grave, Lycia, Mephisto Walz to name some better-known bands.
Looking for competent musicians who are familiar with gothic rock and the scene, you don't have to be great or anything (I am a self-taught intermediate player, skill-wise) but I'd prefer you having previous experience with being in bands and gigging (I have never been in a band or gigged before outside of a DIY house show, so I lack the experience and need direction and help).
I will handle bass guitar and lyrics, some of the vocals, and mixing but I really want the songwriting/composition to be a collaborative effort.
For lyrical themes I want to write very personal lyrics/themes from my own life, which is why I want to take the role of lyricist and primary vocalist. However, I also want to write non-personal lyrics too about various topics. In some songs, I would like them to be almost comedic maybe.
Disclaimer: I am transgender/non-binary, so if you aren't an ally or queer yourself, then no can do.
Hello my name is Ian (M25). I formed a band with my friends and are looking for a suitable drummer who is up for kicking it in with us. We are bunch of imbecile young adults who basically don't have much going on in life and fill out our voids with music. We aim high and achieve very low.
Right now we need a fourth man (drummer) who can vibe with us. I don't care if you're the best musician out there or a highly trained professional drummer, I just need someone to play drums with their hearts out.
If you feel like you can be a rockstar hmu🤘
Millenial duo, guitarist - drummer, looking to jam with a bassist. Trying to do something in the alt.rock area - not really sure what you'd call it, but there's some shoegaze, a little bit of radioheadish sounding stuff, dusterish maybe?. You can check out some improvised jams we did at this page https://soundcloud.com/shoebrained Takes half a minute for me to find my footing in the first jam so please bare with. We jam at a place called red note in brooklyn. Dm me if interested.
Hi all!
I'm a drummer and my friend is a bassist. We both recently graduated from Harvard and moved to the city, and over the past couple years we played probably 25-35 gigs together in a pop/rock band and in a couple other groups as well.
We also have a friend from college who is a singer, but she'll be moving away in a couple of months, so if you're a singer still feel free to connect.
We're looking for a keys player and lead / rhythm guitar at about our playing level — ideally you can send some gig footage, and then we can see how a jam goes. We're into funk, rock, some pop.
Feel free to reach out!
Influenced from classic rock, britpop, shoegaze, and indie rock. DM me if interested!
I'm a guitarist, recently started meeting up for jams with a drummer. I mostly play lead and our jam was a bit awkward and lacking due to that. We're looking for a bassist, rhythm guitarist, or maybe a keyboard. Basically anyone who can help add some harmonic foundation to the sound. Rhythm guitarist would probably be best right now as we prefer to play rock/metal, but I am flexible and open to any and all instruments as long as they can fill that role. We're trying to get a consistent group going for regular meetups. We meet around Brooklyn in red hook / gowanus. Please reach out if you are interested. We are ideally looking for someone for next weekend
