Hi guys, is there anyone that are finishing 4 semester or two years degree on dec and does any one know when is the graduation ceremony and is it on dec 2024 or May 2025
Hello Everyone,
Since being let go from my previous job back in May, I have been thinking of switching career paths into the tech industry. I'm currently looking at possibly getting certified in Cybersecurity, but don't know where to start. I've sent an information request from NOVA's website and checked out the program page, but what I really want to do is talk with faculty and alumni to ask them the following questions:
I'm going to be trying to contact faculty about the program via email and if they can get me in contact with alumni as well, but I also wanted to post here to see if anyone could point me in the right direction.
I need Calc1 to graduate on time but I cant fit MD61 on my schedule. Should I just wing it and take MTH163? also, would it be easier to take in online or in person?
Hi everyone, I just wanted to ask a quick question for students who are already in the nursing program (or going into) at NOVA.
It says that once we receive our schedule we are basically “under oath” to actually sign up for the schedule they assigned. Has anyone tried differently? I really would like to know if they would catch you if you did not sign up for the schedule they give you, and I did ask Ms Brown a few questions about scheduling.
Please let me know guys, thanks 🙏🏻🙏🏻
I have a quick 2 question survey for NOVA students. (its about school emails.. I need the info for a project) Please if you can fill it out!! Thank youu!!
i scheduled an appointment back in september, the earliest i could get with a provider i liked was today at 10 am. couldn't sleep last night but i knew i had waited 3 months for this appointment, so i dragged myself out of bed at 9:45. went into the timelycare app and couldn't find anywhere to join a session, so i checked my email. 9:09 am "your appointment has been cancelled by the provider!" 😐 ok.....fine....'you can reschedule for thursday at 8 am or friday at 9 am! just go into timelycare and do it!' ....ok..fine....go back into timelycare and try to schedule an appointment for one of those days with the same provider, next available appointment is in MARCH!!!! if you're going to cancel an appointment that has been scheduled for 3 MONTHS with less than an hour notice, the least you could do is guarantee me a quick reschedule with the same provider, NOT make someone wait a total of 6 fucking months just to talk to someone. go fuck yourselves timelycare
I'm not sure who to email for help with this so I'm asking chat lol
My dad is military so I get in-state tuition as a dependent. Or, I would but I'm 22, already have a bachelor degree, and anticipating to be part-time in January-- which are all things that make the military not consider me a dependent anymore. We've lived here for two or three years now and my parents pay state taxes, they own a house here, our cars are registered here, and I have a Virginia DL. So I should get in-state tuition regardless of the military. NVCC is charging me out of state tuition until I can prove I'm eligible for in-state as a dependent because I indicated my dad's military and we're technically residents of another state. I'm just not sure who to call/email.
Sorry if this is confusing, I'm happy to answer any questions to clarify. Thank you!
need to take SPA 101, can't seem to find anything on this prof. does anyone know what their classes are like?
Hello everyone! I just failed my first NAS 2 Exam and need to take my second exam before we have winter break. I studied Quizlet which didn’t help me at all. I’m studying at NOVA so if you guys have any study guide that can share with me I will appreciate it a lot!!!
So I took a semester at the University of Oregon in fall 2023 and I’d like to transfer those credits to NVCC in hopes of it raising my GPA. Problem is only maybe one of those credits apply to my degree and I’m not really sure if it’s worth it to transfer those credits or even how to do it. I started doing the Transfer Credit Evaluation Request form but there’s no spot to upload my transcript. If anyone has knowledge on this any help would be appreciated. Thank you.
hi i'm currently a freshmen at nova and i wanted to know how do we figure out what classes to pick for spring? is there something that were supposed to look at and where? i'm really lost on what classes to enroll in.
i'm also in the advanced program. i'm planning to go to gmu after my 2 years.
hey guys im currently a freshman at annandale campus and im currently taking cst110, art 100, sdv to healthcare, and ede 111 and eng 111. not proud to admit but im currently failing 2 but i plan to bring one up but on cst110 i think im completely screwed. will this affect my fafsa if i already recieved my spring grant on the sis website, but i don’t know if i’ve accepted it yet im pretty sure i have tho. Conclusion is, will this affect my fafsa and bring me down to the suspension status?
I didn’t apply for FAFSA during the fall semester, am I still able to apply for this upcoming spring?
me and my friend wanted to share a parking pass but saw that it's not allowed. but how often do they check if the cars are there at the same time or do they never check.
I'm a VCCS student down in the southeast part of the state and not at a NVCC, but I just had a question regarding the VA Transfer Passport and I thought I would ask it here because I didn't know where else to ask this. But regarding the VA Transfer Passport it says that it's optional to fill out and I was just wondering like what are the benefits of it because all I have noticed so far is that it is just there for us to maximize the credits acceptance that satisfy the lower-division gen eds. Like does this affect like the amount of credits one would earn on TOP of the amount of credits they get from their associates degree?
does anyone know the tuition deadline for spring?
Hey! I'm applying for the nursing program and I don't want to find myself in a corner later on so I've been looking at the GAAs for an RN-BSN program afterwards. This might be stupid but I just want to make sure my understanding is right. For the UVA agreement specifically, I was wondering if I took my gen ed courses/ courses not nursing related from a school not in VCCS, am I not able to use the GAA?
I have a BS in Human Science from another university so a lot of my course credit would be from that school. To finish the AAS, I'd be taking 42 credits at Nova, which is pretty much just the nursing classes and one co-req.
Currently I need help in my African American class literature and I’m struggling to overcome my professor needs to do this letter essay so she wont think it’s ai i emailed her for needing help she gives me a smartass email.
I’m literally not asking about using ai I’m asking for help 😐
As of now, I've been attending NOVA for almost 2 years. My plans were to do NOVA for 2 years, earn my associate's degree and transfer to a university and I thought that things were going fine, but I was wrong.
There are still a lot more classes I have to take in order to receive my associate's that I didn't think were required for it. I kept retaking classes I've failed to get a better grade which only delayed me getting my associate's and now, as we are leading towards next year, I don't know what to do.
I wouldn't mind doing another year if it meant that I would be saving up for what's to come, after my first plan didn't work, but there's a problem. I've been unemployed almost all year after getting denied any jobs around my area. I've only had one other job that I didn't want to do anymore. I'm still currently looking for one. I also don't have a car and still live with my parents, so to get to campus, I would have to take the bus or order an Uber. I didn't make many friends on campus either, so I was pretty much alone all of last year and this year.
What that means is all of this could happen again next year, and I don't want to go through that again. I recently turned 20 and things are already going bad for me. I'm scared of what will happen next year for me, because all I can do is hope that things don't get worse.
For anybody who’s currently in the RN program, what’s the approximate tuition cost? I can’t seem to find any info online (without using the credit calculator).
Im planning to do the RN-BSN route, since most accelerated BSN programs in the area are $70k+. Currently trying to weigh out my options!
This is a requirement for NVCC's nursing school apparently (and I can't find much info about it on their site and no other prior conversations on this sub about it), and I'm curious what current/former nursing students have used for their liability insurance - ideally something affordable?
my gpa’s above 1.75 now and i’m unable to register for classes right now because i still have the hold. who do i need to contact or what do i need to do to get rid of this hold and be able to register for classes?
Is anyone in search of Gardners Art Through The Ages, Communication Pathways 2E, Everyone’s An Author 4th Edition, or Keeping The Republic 9th Edition.
I’m just trying to declutter and make back some of my funds. I also have some philosophy books and study guides for Art History 101 and Microsoft Word 365 if anyone was interested.
Feel free to message me if interested or need more information.
Does anyone know how, where, in what way I can practice for a PLS 241 final??? Im currently on the brink of idk what atp… I have Albert Kim as my professor and I really like to know if anyones had past exam stuff I can practice??
received my diploma a couple of days ago, and bought this frame from amazon for 15$, definitely better than spending 150$+ on store frames.
easy A or nah?
I have a third mid term and a final in December and I'm stressing out. How do you relax?
Anyone here take prof. Parker for ENG 112? How was it? Her class is at a really convenient time but if there are any other standouts at Annandale or over zoom I'd like to hear it.
Exactly what I said in the title. No full professor name, have to click on a class to see if it's zoom/online/etc. (unless I'm missing something?), search parameters disappearing based on the boxes you check and not re-appearing if you uncheck them, and somehow even clunkier than the old system.
Is it worth to take online classes instead of interactive classroom video?
