Ive been stressing a lot lately and totally forgot to apply for graduation, is there any way i can talk to a nova staff member or pay a late fee or something? IF so do you know who to talk too? I know, i know, i fucked up just looking for help. I would like to transfer to Mason, any help would be greatly appreciated.

I’m looking for some advice on transferring. I’m currently in my first year at NVCC and thinking about applying to uva after just one year. The application deadline is March 1, but I’ll only have completed one semester by then.What does it mean to transfer after one year? If I complete two semesters by next year, should I apply in March 2026?

Okay so on my last semester at nova and i just had a question for anyone who happens to be in my boat. Nova advisors are no help lol. So in Cybersec AAS with 3.0 GPA and am looking to transfer to GM next semester. Im looking at the GM transfer guide and there is so many classes that are no apart of my degree that seem to be required for mason (pictured below.) More than half of this list i have not taken classes for and im concerned that ill have to do all of these classes. has anyone had any experience with this? getting super stressed and feels like ive taken a huge step backwards.

Which community college for an associates in social sciences would be easiest to achieve that.

Also, how easy is it to get below a B? If you put in the work, in all courses would you prob get a B or higher?

I keep seeing everyone talking about waiting for their funds to post to nelnet, and the average amount of time it's taken in previous terms to refund after that. Does anyone have experience with Aidvantage? I got an email saying that is my servicer. On studentaid.gov it still says I have no loans/grants, I have no login info for Aidvantage, nor can I create an account, however my past due charges are now 0 in SIS. Just looking for some insight... this wait sucks.

i Just looked at SIS and while the pell grant has gone through, it had not gone through like i thought. When you look at activity, in account inquiry, the pell grants shows up under payments, NOT REFUNDS! I looked back in my history from the summer and low and behold, it took another week for it to actually show up under refunds. Im actually getting so depressed, i need this fucking money. Why are they doing this to us. I have bills, I need help. Nobody else is helping me except me. I missed bills, hangouts with people, etc. I'm trying to move out of an abusive environment, and its just stress and more stress.

Knowing how NOVA works it will probably be another two weeks, because summer grants were actually on time. like i literally cant.

yeah so did anyone else have professor geeta jadhav for bio142? seriously, she has not fixed any grades or even emailed me back about not updating grades. i’m starting to think she’s going to grade everything at the end of the semester which would be terrible for me since it’s important for me to keep track of my grades. is there anyone i can report this to?

I got a question regarding such.. Looking at my pathway, I won’t be able to get all my credits for my AS this following spring, so I will finish my last required classes during the summer…

If so, will I have to wait until next June 2026 for graduation? I plan to transfer to GMU so will that also affect when I could enroll?

I'm enrolled in a 12-week course that began September 23rd. The census date is October 5th. I've been led to believe that my financial aid will disburse on the census date, but my census date happens to fall on a Saturday. I was just wondering if anyone might have an idea of when my financial aid will disburse? I don't want to bother the financial aid office, I imagine they're very busy right now. Trying my best to be patient.

Did anyone have problems with Turnitin? I submitted two essay, for 1 assignment, the second is resubmission for that assignment. For the first one, it checked me 55% similarity, and the second one was 40%. But the problem here was in the second one, I just copy paste my own work in the first, which was not be red highlighted and it marked me for plagiarized. Then when I opened Canvas today, it turned to 100%, though I not submitted anything since the 40% one.

Hello! Just started MTH 265 calc 3. This is my first class here (my college doesn’t offer calc 3 in the fall). It’s all online, the professor doesn’t post anything other than the slides from the textbook, and all the HW is on webassign. I have a quiz this Sunday and I am a little nervous. I was wondering if someone has taken this class/professor before. Any advice?

Just like everybody I’ve been checking like crazy to see when I will be getting my refund. Yesterday it said I owed $600 and had pending aid. Today when I checked it says I owe $600 with no refunds pending. Even on the refund website it says I owe money. This doesn’t make sense though because I received 6,000 for this semester and my class total was a little over 3,000. Should I call the office or is this normal?

i’m taking MTH 263 via zoom and i had an exam last week where we’d scan and email our submission to the professor. grades were posted last night and i got a 0 because “Unfortunately, the document submitted (MTH 263 exam 1.pdf is corrupted). I am not able to open the submitted document for grading. This is the responsibility of the student to ensure the document submitted is not corrupted.”

i took MTH 162 over the summer in the same format and had no issues with anything. he even said i was good to leave the zoom session the day of the exam, so i was under the impression that everything was fine.

i tried emailing him last night about this and still no reply. any other advice on what else i can do?

As of right now I have a Federal Subsidized and Unubsidized loan, a Federal Pell Grant, a SEOG Grant, and the VA commonwealth award. I know some are saying that their commonwealth award has only gotten released for them? Would nova take my tuition first from my grants I don't have to pay back or from my subsidized loans that I have to pay back? Apologies, just seeing if nova is gonna F me and use my grant awards to pay my classes instead of my loans, thanks!

Got our hopes up last night after the va grant dispersed, the pell grant & other loans are yet to come even though they also were supposed to disperse yesterday. Every time, it's just "maybe tomorrow" or "maybe next week". Seriously starting to get pissed...

I'm someone who had a very hard time in STEM subjects in high school, planning to do an associate in Social Science at NOVA (I think, still have to think that through.) Believe I need 12 credits in natural science and math. Would these work?

MDE 10, MTH 154, MTH 155, and ENV 121 is what I'm planning.

Are these classes easy enough for an C or higher?

Tomorrow will be the three week mark for getting our money. this school is really getting on my nerves. It's really unbelievable how horrible nova has gotten after Covid, and each semester it keeps getting worse. t so unfair making up wait this long, whats the point of making us wait this long, its almost midterm time.

Why hand out one grant a day. what is the point of that, just give us our money that is literally owed to us.

I ’m usually shy but in every class im trying to make friends and no one is capable of saying anything else apart from “I’m good”. I feel like I’m gonna loose all my social skills because no one wants to interact at all!! It’s this only happening to me or what???
