I am looking for a combo lock that is high quality/strong. I am not looking for a u-bolt. I've seen Kryptonite, which seems legit. Any suggestions that has befuddled the local bandits? Thanks.
Not sure how active this is, but I didn't want to ask in the main New Orleans sub and just have everyone tell me I'm going to die immediately. lol
In theory, it looks like you can take the Canal Street ferry, go down the levee path to the Chalmette ferry, and then come back around to the FQ on LA-46/St Claude. Is this actually possible and is it safe? I'm completely used to riding on the streets around town but I've never ridden out past Holy Cross before. It looks like there's kind of a bike lane...kind of.
Anyone have experience with this ride and want to recommend or warn against it? Thanks!
My road bikes have sat for too long because riding them on our torn up streets is wildly uncomfortable, and the smooth streets I would take instead have all the drunk drivers.
Looking at gravel bikes, mostly because they can go fast fast on good roads but also have the frame geometry to be stable over bumps. Are there better options for hauling ass on the levee and also navigating N Miro downriver of AP Tureaud?
In the past I'd heard steel frames absorb bumps better, but I'm seeing good reviews of modern aluminum frames on that point. Thoughts? I don't have carbon or titanium money.
Also. Fucking hell bikes are expensive now. I've always been a decent wrench, so thoughts on buying the cheapest bike with the best frame and upgrading parts myself over time?
Recommendations anyone?
I just got a setup that’s actually amendable to gravel. Are there any roads/trails in the area you fine folks would recommend?
Does any have a good recommendation for a good ebike that I can use to commute to work from Karen-a-Stan (Metry) to the Quarter. I already have a hard tail steel-framed mountain bike (Schwinn Mesa GS), that I’ve put many many miles on. I put a road tire on the back and a knobby on the front for traction.
Should I go for a conversion kit and a good battery instead, and how much power do I really need on flat land like we have in the New Orleans area? https://i.imgur.com/lpuZ111.jpg
