I applied to NIU( HS Senior) a few days ago and accessed my student sign in acct, i went to my application status and it says incomplete, then i went to the "to-do" tab and there was nothing there, who knows what the problem is?
Feel free to dm if you don’t want it public :)
Hello huskies! I'll be visiting Dekalb for work next week, and I was hoping to get recommendations on dining, things to do, etc. on or around campus. Any recommendations are appreciated!
Any recommendations for an easy asynchronous writing infused elective?
Has anyone found any ducks? I've been looking and haven't seen a single one
Is there anyone who has non-slip shoes that from size 10.5- 12M that I could borrow for 2-3 wks or anyone who has 25$ that I can borrow from(I’ll pay you back when I can)? I just got a job recently and can’t rly afford non-slip shoes at the moment so I was hoping if anyone could help.
Hey! Is anyone in KNPE 100 and could help me please! I can’t open a document and just need a screenshot!
so i am trying to make sure that i try and get ahead, and i am waiting on the teacher to get back to me, but i was wondering if anybody here is in the HSCI department, and if so, what her finall research assignment is like, i want to know so i can start working on it, ive got my magna cum laud status riding on this.
Literally was waking around campus tonight and these dudes we’re taking photos on the stairs along the side of buildings that take you to the roof and two cops came over. I happened to walk the corner and the worst time which made the cops ask if I was with them. Just wanna know those two dudes were? And did you make it?
I’m going to niu in the fall next year (as a freshman) and am wondering about housing. I’m a trans guy and there’s some pretty obvious challenges there. I’ve heard good things about niu being accepting on that front so i’m not worried about that. Mostly just the part about housing. I’ve looked into the different dorms and so far Stevenson looks to be the best choice due to the suites with bathrooms. I know there’s an lgbt community thing for housing but it seems to be in the Neptune housing which seems to be a community shared bathroom, something I don’t want due to the pretty glaring issue of being a trans guy - I don’t want to make others or myself uncomfortable. I tried emailing the person noted about that (from both personal and school email) but I never got a response back. It’s still pretty early in the year and I don’t think housing has opened for the fall yet anyway so maybe that’s why, idk.
There’s also the whole roommate situation. I don’t think there were any singles with a bathroom (correct me if i’m wrong)? Also, having a roommate would make it at least slightly cheaper. My best bet is finding another trans guy to room with tbh. So, if you’re in the same boat there maybe we could chat?
If anyone’s got advice on this and which dorms would be good that would be great. I got a good scholarship so the prices aren’t much of a deterrent for me and i’m willing to shell out a little more for a good room.
TLDR: trans guy in need of housing advice, would be greatly appreciated.
Ok, does anyone know what the BBQ food truck is called, the one that sometimes hangs out in the parking lot on the SW corner of Annie Glidden and and Hillcrest?
Hello, I am a disabled student who uses a walker. There are a variety of accommodation issues on campus that I have noticed after only starting this semester, but this is one of the biggest.
The fucking huge ass cracks in the sidewalks.
I don’t expect there to be no cracks, that would be unrealistic and unfair. Small ones are fine and easy to go over/avoud. However, the ones I’m talking about are huge, big enough to fit both my front wheels in and not be able to roll back out. I have to go out of my way to avoid them by swerving around them, and sometimes they’re long as hell so and there are more around it so i have to do some weird ass maneuvers, as well as picking it up if I happen to get stuck.
Here is a link to some videos i recorded today of what I’m talking about: https://imgur.com/gallery/vA5s62i (Hopefully it works, I don’t use imgur)
The first video is from the area next to stevenson towards the library, and the other two are from the other side of cole hall and reavis towards university drive. These are just the areas that I frequent, but please feel free to comment about any other areas that you notice.
Honestly this isn’t even just an issue for disabled students, it’s a liability and inconvenience for everyone. It would be so easy to trip and fall or twist your ankle by mis stepping there.
I hope I’m not the only one who has noticed this. I’m gonna try and bring it up to disability sometime to see if there is anything that can get done. I’m really tired of it.
This is not a drill, they have opened it up with a huge sign and everything. Inform other students that they are tied to The Network cult and do not trust them, or anyone from there who is fishing students. Keep each other safe. I am going to be printing off a bunch of BITE model leaflets from Steve Hassan's website and see if I can get them approved to be put up around campus. If anyone would love to help out with the task, PM me. Might also organize a protest on the sidewalk. I may be a former student but seeing a cult spring up right across from campus has my blood boiling.
Hi!! I (21F) am transferring to niu in the spring and I was wondering if there’s any other girls who would wanna be friends? or anyone who’s also transferring in the spring. I’m an English major hoping to teach at the high school level :) so if there’s any other education girlies hmuuuu
I'm planning to go with this university for my master's in computer science, is it worthy for foreign student?
Hello! I recently signed the lease for an apartment at university plaza and all the reviews on google are freaking me out saying it’s awful. I was just wondering what other people thought of living there? if anyone has lived there.
I haven’t met anyone yet that plays badminton or wants to try badminton. So does anyone want to play some badminton sometime? Any experience level is cool even 0 experience.
I live in a single in Stevenson and I’m dying from the heat rn, I can’t find anything on my room to turn the air off am I tripping or can I just not do that. I used to live in a Grant double and there I could control the air
Hey so I have been looking into going to the gym and exercising more on the weekends and am mostly hoping to start swimming. I’ve been trying to do some research into the pool on campus and i’ve seen that there is/was one but am really not getting any straight answers, so I’ll ask here to see if yall can help.
Is it open to students? Is it even open at all? if so, when are the hours?
Thanks in advance, just trying to get out more and do some exercise that’s easy on my messed up body 😭
When I was at NIU they played basketball there but then they built the convo center and Chick Evans Field House was basically a shuttered building for my last couple years. I assumed it would be knocked down by now but it looks like it's still there on Google maps.
Who is this guy?

Nice day for a football game. Does anyone know if I can buy beer at the stadium?
Looking for some friends in Dekalb that attend NIU. I'm currently a junior and have no connections or friends here in Dekalb so far. I'm a transfer student so I'm kinda out of my element. Anyone interested in becoming friends?
