With the participation of hundreds of mercenaries, including members of the so-called “Guardians of Religion organization” from Uzbek, Turkestani, and Chechen nationalities, the Turkish occupation and its mercenaries launched violent attacks on villages south and east of Manbij city, as well as in the countryside of Tishreen Dam. Our forces successfully countered these attacks, eliminating and wounding dozens of mercenaries.
This morning, supported by five Turkish UCAVs and equipped with modern tanks and armored vehicles, the mercenary groups launched fierce attacks on the villages of Al-Atshana, Al-Sa'ideen, Khirbet Tueni, Mahshiyet Sheikh Ubaid Al-Mustafa, Khirbet Zamala, Al-Mustaha, Sa'ideen, Telat Syriatel, and Alloush. However, our fighters successfully thwarted all attacks and eliminated dozens of mercenaries and destroyed six armored vehicles belonging to the mercenaries, including a tank and two vehicles armed with DShK machine guns.
Our fighters engaged in direct clashes with the mercenaries, showcasing extraordinary resistance. Our SDF Media Center will release footage of these clashes and the destruction of enemy vehicles at a later time.
Following these failed attacks, the Turkish occupation escalated its attacks using UCAVs and heavy artillery against the Tishreen Dam and its surrounding areas. These attacks have caused significant damage to parts of the Dam, posing serious risks to the body of the Dam. We hold the Turkish occupation fully responsible for any further damage to the Dam and its surroundings.

Statement of Condolence
With deep sorrow and regret, we have received painful news about a series of tragic incidents that occurred yesterday, Wednesday, claiming the lives of dozens of innocent people in the United States of America and the Republic of Montenegro.
In the United States, a horrific terrorist attack took place in New Orleans early Wednesday morning, where an armed individual drove a truck into a crowd celebrating the New Year, resulting in 15 deaths and over 30 injuries. In another incident in Las Vegas, a truck exploded in front of the Trump Hotel, killing one person inside the vehicle and injuring seven others with minor injuries.
Meanwhile, in the Republic of Montenegro, a gunman opened fire in a small town, killing 10 people, including two innocent children, before attempting suicide.
We, in the Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria, extend our heartfelt condolences and sympathies to the families of the victims of these painful incidents. We express our deep solidarity with the people of the United States and the Republic of Montenegro as they face these tragedies, especially as ISIS sleeper cells have increased their activity in our regions, exploiting the chaos and the attacks by the Turkish occupation and its factions.
We strongly condemn these crimes, which target the lives of innocent people during moments that are supposed to be filled with joy and peace. We affirm that these incidents, particularly the terrorist attack in New Orleans, suspected to be linked to ISIS, are further evidence that the threat of terrorism endangers the entire world, not just specific regions.
We have previously warned about the activities of ISIS cells and renew our call for intensified international efforts to confront this growing threat. Additionally, we reaffirm our unequivocal rejection of all forms of violence and terrorism, regardless of their motives or objectives.

Update:
The forces of the Manbij Military Council successfully repelled the attacks of the Turkish occupation and its mercenaries along the axes of Al-Atshana and Al-Mastaha villages, south of Manbij city. The attack from this axis was thwarted, and the mercenaries were expelled.
In the Abu Qalqal axis, our forces countered another attack by the mercenaries, during which a BMB armored vehicle was destroyed near the village of Alloush, a tank was damaged, and dozens of mercenaries were eliminated or injured in the clashes.
The clashes continue in the southern and eastern regions of Manbij amidst ongoing Turkish occupation bombardment using UCAVs and heavy artillery.

Statement on Misleading Information Published by the So-Called "Syrian Network for Human Rights"
The so-called "Syrian Network for Human Rights," (Not to be confused with Syrian Observatory For Human Rights SOHR) operating out by Turkey, has falsely claimed that three members of one family were killed in the village of Al-Qashla, southeast of Manbij, and attributed the crime to our forces. This systematic disinformation seeks to obscure the crimes committed by Turkish-backed mercenaries who were in control of the village at the time of the crime.
Ten days ago, and following our forces entered Al-Qashla and cleared it of the so-called "Al-Amshat" and "Al-Hamzat" mercenary groups, we discovered the bodies of three civilians—Muhammad Al-Khalil Al-Ayyoub, his wife, and their son, Suleiman. Investigations revealed that these individuals were executed by Turkish-backed mercenaries after resisting attempts to loot their home and property. This is just one of many atrocities committed by Turkish-backed groups in Manbij in recent days, which have included looting, robbery, kidnapping, and even raping. These crimes have been documented and published with residents providing video evidence.
The disinformation spread by the so-called "Syrian Network for Human Rights" enables the actual perpetrators to evade accountability. This biased reporting has ignored hundreds of crimes committed by Turkish-backed mercenary groups in Afrin, Manbij, and other areas, allowing these atrocities to continue unchecked. Such bias undermines victims' rights to justice and accountability, perpetuating a cycle of violence and impunity.

YPJ Statement:
https://ypjrojava.net/en/?p=21479
We have experienced a year filled with significant events, including the conflicts of the Third World War. Amidst all this, there has been widespread resistance by the people. Throughout the year, the people of northeastern Syria and the defense forces demonstrated once again the resolve of our people against all forms of colonialist and genocidal attacks, reaffirming their determination to live freely and equally. Each year is welcomed with hopes for peace, calmness, and love. However, the occupation forces attempt to suppress these hopes with their inhumane violations.
As the Women’s Protection Units (YPJ), we resist all threats that prevent women and communities from living freely across all domains. We are engaged in a struggle for existence.
Recent events in the region have marked the beginning of a new phase, especially for women and the people. This phase has intensified political and social crises in the region. We are in a challenging time where people are subjected to physical torture and psychological pressure because of their cultural identities and religious beliefs and are killed in brutal ways. What sustains communities is their cultural, religious, and ethnic diversity. Communities such as Alawites, Christians, and Druze face annihilation. Similarly, our region in northeastern Syria is targeted by planned attacks aiming at occupation and extermination.
In response to these violations and policies targeting nations, cultures, and beliefs, protecting social values becomes our primary mission. In the new Syria, the rights and safety of all cultural, religious, and national identities must be legally guaranteed. Women and communities must live in safety and freedom. Therefore, the need to defend and protect themselves is greater than ever.
In the new Syria, all women’s rights—practiced concretely in the autonomous administration regions—must be institutionalized. Gender equality, fair representation in shared governance systems, and social alliances must be foundational. Through this approach, Syria can become a democratic and vibrant model for the Middle East.
The Women’s Protection Units (YPJ) welcome the year 2025 on the fronts of resistance to protect the achievements of the revolution. Similarly, our brave people stand unwaveringly beside their sons and daughters.
At the start of every new year, we see renewed hopes. With the hope that 2025 will be a year of peace, freedom, and democracy for all the peoples of Syria, we commemorate all the martyrs of freedom through the legacy of Martyrs Ronahî, Arjîn, Yıldız, and Avaşîn. We reaffirm our unwavering commitment to following the path of the righteous martyrs. As the YPJ, we extend our greetings for the new year, first and foremost to the architects of free life, Leader Apo, all the women of the world, our people, our comrades currently resisting on the frontlines, and all the families of the martyrs.

To all our fighters, the Syrian people, and the entire world, Happy New Year. We pray that 2025 brings peace and stability to our homeland. Let us begin the new year with hope and determination for a brighter future for our country.
Records of two of our comrades who were martyred in the past during the resistance of Manbij and the Aleppo countryside
Two of our fighters were martyred, one of them was the fighter comrade “Aqrab Rash/ Mahmoud Faisal Ali” who was martyred in a Turkish occupation aircraft bombing of the city of Manbij during the escalation of clashes between our forces and the occupation forces and their mercenaries, while our second comrade “Aqeed Darbasiyah/ Sayel Omar Muhammad” was martyred in clashes with the Turkish occupation forces and their mercenaries in the countryside of Aleppo.
Our martyred comrade “Aqrab Rash” belongs to a well-known national family, as his father also fights within the ranks of our forces. Our martyred comrade joined our forces years ago, and underwent several training courses. With the acquisition of combat and military experience, and the improvement of his performance, he moved to the level of professionalism and work within the ranks of the “Commandos” forces, and participated in several military campaigns of our forces against the terrorist organization “ISIS” and the mercenaries of the Turkish occupation in the areas of “Zarkan/Abu Rasin, Deir Ezzor and Serekaniye”, and he also participated in the “Hammer of the Peoples” operation against the mercenaries of “ISIS” in the “Sina’a Prison” in the Ghuwayran neighborhood in the city of Hasakah, and fought with all dedication and loyalty in all those campaigns and operations, and was an example of a disciplined fighter keen on achieving victories in battle.
Likewise, our martyred comrade “Aqeed Darbasiyah”, who was also part of the “commandos” forces, played a major role in the battles in which he participated, in terms of maneuvering and his boldness in transporting military equipment and ammunition, in addition to transporting the wounded of our fellow fighters. He never knew fear, but was characterized by the highest levels of courage and boldness, fighting alongside his comrades. During the attack of the Turkish occupation forces and their mercenaries on the countryside of Aleppo, he continued to resist until the last bullet, and when he ran out of ammunition, he preferred to carry out a sacrificial operation and entered the register of immortal martyrs in the memory and hearts of our people, and refused to fall captive in the hands of the mercenaries.
We offer our deepest condolences to the families of the two martyrs and all the families of our martyrs, and we renew our pledge to them to avenge their pure blood, and to continue the struggle until we reach a safe and secure homeland free of terrorism and occupation.
