Who did they get instead?
Harrison Barnes vs. Victor Wembanyama in a Three-Point 'Around the World' showdown captured at Spurs’ training camp! Who's your money on? Either way we all win cause these dudes are damn good! 🏀🔥
My daughter just joined a basketball league im coaching and our practice falls on this day, lmk if anyone is interested. VIP early entrance, Frost Club Access, in seat drinks/food service. Dm me.
Asked Harrison Barnes what he perceives as different between the Spurs and his former team, the Sacramento Kings. Says the Spurs want to get the W’s early to establish a winning mentality. He gave kudos to Malaki Branham, Wemby and more. #PorVida #NBAo
𝗜𝗻𝘀𝗶𝗱𝗲 𝗚𝗮𝗺𝗲: Victor Wembanyama and Jeremy Sochan discuss how Jeremy tackled 𝗹𝗮𝘀𝘁 𝘀𝗲𝗮𝘀𝗼𝗻’𝘀 ‘𝗦𝗼𝗰𝗵𝗮𝗻 𝗘𝘅𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁.’ They share how relentless effort and hard work are helping Jeremy's perfectionism guide him towards his ideal self.
I keep thinking about our roster and I don't really a see a clear spot for them tbh. Provided that the whole team is healthy, our bench unit would definitely need to have Tre (to run the offense), Steph (for defense, to get reps and run the offense as well), Keldon (for offense), Julian (for reliable spacing (for our teams standards)), and Zach (cause we're paying this man).
I can only really see Malaki and Blake getting okay playing minutes if we have injuries. Devin is out for what? Maybe a couple weeks (hopefully)? I suspect we'll see either Malaki or Blake get minutes for this. But when Devin comes back I can't think of a reason why we would choose to play either one of them over Tre, Steph, Keldon, or Julian. What are your thoughts on this? Do you think we'll be seeing them as much as last year?
The Spurs have had some of the most iconic nicknames for players – Iceman, the Admiral, the Big Fundamental and yes, the Klaw; and some pretty decent ones as well – the Worm, Big Shot Rob, wee Frenchman, Little General. This season we look to have a bumper crop of nicknames, so here’s my ranking:
1. Alien – Original, appropriate and befitting the franchise player. Props for also getting leaguewide acceptance by year 2.
2. Point God – all-time great name, historical acceptance. Loses out to wemby just by a bit because it doesn’t lend itself to vivid imagery.
After that it’s a bit of a drop-off but I would say next has to be
3. Big Body / Mustang – Coming in at a shaky third, given that he’s lost enough weight to be the Mid Body, and the latter from a quote by pop. Strong enough acceptance that announcers would call it out on the regular
4. The Destroyer – This never really caught on outside of Bill Land and Sean Elliott, and I suspect it won’t last. Still, relatively cool
5. Black Falcon – Extremely unique, a little odd, but it certainly stands out.
6. Triple Double Machine – Inside joke spawned by the spurs players for Tre Jones, good enough for it to come out every once in a while on social media
7. Yng Devo – apologies to devin but this has to come in last. Despite this being his official twitter handle, I’ve never heard anyone use it in real life
Let me know if I've missed anyone out!
Wtf is going on here?
$208 max bet allowed. I think it happens.
Is there a Spurs v Spurs scrimmage to start off the preseason? If so, is there any way to watch online?
Victor Wembanyama says that NBA basketball is becoming more and more “position-less”- just as the Spurs aim to become. He’s ready for a future where versatility is king. #PorVida
Inspired by other post for NYC watch party. I am a San Antonio native living in Oakland, would love to catch the preseason opener with fellow spurs fans. Maybe oakland athletic club? Holler at me
Any spurs fans in the city? I’m a transplant from San Antonio - been here a few years. Looking for some folks to watch the games with this year!
