Alesmith’s N/A Speedway Stout - (?) Cal ~ .05% - And I know I do…you’ll absolutely love these. Granted, I’ve been sober for 5 years so I haven’t had the OG Speedway, but that works out for me and Alesmith because I’ll be buying these a lot this holiday. I’m a huge fan of coffee and chocolate and with a color as dark as Guinness, that’s what you’re getting as a welcome punch in the face.
Athletic’s Sunset Stoke - 70 Cal ~ 0.5% - Truly enjoyed this. Maybe it’s that I’m partial to red beers, but I throughly loved the malty citrus combo. You can really taste the stone fruit, and it was just so refreshing. I cracked this as I made my dinner and finished it just as I sat down it was too good not to kill fairly fast.
Quick recommendation. I am loving Erdinger NA, and it is really fantastic with a splash of cider. Erdinger is my favorite wheat beer so far and the cider really compliments it.
Prost!
My current favs:
Wellbeing Intentional IPA Corona Non-Alcoholic Strive Juicy IPA
I go to Total Wine in Alpharetta, GA.
Looking forward to trying some Deschutes and Best Day brews as those seem to be hits.
I had a bottle of this the other night in a local pub. Was really nice.
Can’t see to see it in supermarkets from a quick google search.
Is anyone aware of it being available anywhere?
Hello everyone. I'm looking for some good NA beer of the month clubs or subscription boxes for my 84 yr old father for Christmas. I know taste is relative - just because you like it doesn't mean he will, but I'm just not familiar enough for NA beer to know what brands are popular. The only thing is the company must be in Canada if at ALL possible, so the exchange rate doesn't cripple me.
Ideas, advice, recommendations welcome.
Thanks

The Headliner is really good NA IPA.
Seems like there isn’t much on the market with any good reviews. Just looking to put it in an NA Bloody.
I hadn't tried this one before, but it's a great NA choice. It boasts a crisp, full-bodied flavor with a bold, hoppy aroma.
Ssuupppeerrr hoppy and bitter so this one is not for me, but I still dog being able to find and try new things!
Mash Gang’s Beyond The Pines Dry Hopped Pilsner - (?) Cal ~ .05% - Not bad. I had to sip it a few times to get the full hoppy flavor. Like the title says, it’s crisp as hell. If you love hops you’ll enjoy this. I probably wouldn’t eat anything with it, but it’s a great shower beer.
Picked some up at the local Safeway in Broomfield, Colorado. I like it! Their website says “Crackery, Light Herbaceous Note” and I agree. Leaves a good taste in my mouth. It is a Boulder, Colorado company - might have to go visit their tap room down the road.
Big dose of hops, really hits those notes more than any other NA ipa I’ve had.
Nonny’s Pale - 55 Cal ~ .05% - Instantly checked every box reminiscent of Sierra Nevada’s Pale Ale. A pretty pronounced tropical zing to this pale, I would crack this to pair with some charcuterie or with some jerky while on a hike.
I can't seem to find any that ship in the US and maybe I'm not looking hard enough, not looking for anything sour, other than that just looking to fill a craving for a alcoholic beer I loved before I stopped drinking.
I really wanted to like this. The pretzel and salt aspect worked well but the mustard flavor sort of overpowered the back end. Really impressed they pulled this off though as it was still pretty drinkable despite the novelty flavor profile.
I am telling you I wouldn’t be able to tell this is NA in a taste test. It’s really good. Not sure how widely distributed it is. I live in RI
My favorite for the fall. They made another batch this past week.
Looking for good recommendations for a sour and/or gose na brews. I appreciate your responses in advance! Cheers.
Athletic’s Dark & Gourdy Pumpkin Spice Beer - 70 Cal ~ .05% - I would drink this with pumpkin pie or a post Thanksgiving day sandwich. It’s delicious but needs to be paired with the right food. I would only drink one every now and then, otherwise I could see it getting old.
I just ordered Not Just Another Story online a couple of weeks ago for the first time since they were not available locally. Walked into the grocery today and there they were!
I’m chilling down Sunshine State and New School Sour as we speak.
Long-story short, my preferred beers are Belgians (Trappists, Tripels, and Belgian Strong Ales like Orval, La Chouffe, Delirium Tremens, Westvleteren, Rochefort, and some of the similar styles etc.), Saisons, Farmhouse Ales, and the like. When I homebrewed I also made a few sours and was playing with different wild yeasts. N/A IPAs scratch the hop-infused niche for me, and the N/A Stouts and Porters tend to be pretty well. But my true love, if you will, are the Abbey/Belgian beers that let the yeast shine through.
I've tried the La Chouffe N/A and it was fine, but lacked the character of the standard that I love. I'm not a fan of Blue Moon personally, so that one's not a huge priority. I am aware of La Trappe Nillis and one of the local grocers is trying to track that down for me. Are there any others I should be aware of? Alternately, anything that might be interesting for somebody who like that funky, spicy, or otherwise interesting sort of character that draws people to Belgians?
The worst thing about NA beer is if you now prefer NA, but the local watering hole charges $6.50 for NA when regular beer is half the price...and 16oz vs 12oz can at that! I still like the social aspect of a bar, hanging out and shooting the shit with a couple buddies, but man, last time I met up with a friend to catch up over a few it damn near cost me $40 after tip! I haven't necessarily quit alcohol and may still have a Miller or two, but have gradually just come to prefer these Athletic Upside Dawns. Most bars don't have it, but they will have one brand of NA or another. Last time the place we hung out at had Athletic OctoberFest so I got to try it, but again, $6.50 a can? I ended up having one and then went back to Miller just because a pint was $3.50. If I could get an Athletic Upside Dawn 16oz draft for $3.50 I would most likely just stick with those and drop the alcohol all together. Aside from the hanging out and bar aspect...having a couple Upsides with lunch each day is pretty great too!
