I’ve been trying to do some research on the conflict in Myanmar, and I’m kind of stumped. Is there really no recorded instance of western / non Asians people coming to fight against the Junta? This situation is a text book anti regime / dictatorship rebellion for freedom, yet no one showed any direct combat action support? It is just a bit surprising. Any information is appreciated.
Do the Junta take prisoners or are rebels all killed in battle or executed?
From what I've seen on here, the answer varies when it comes to the treatment of Junta troops by different rebel factions if they surrender/ are captured, but I've not seen much regarding the fate of those on the other side.
