GUIDELINES
1. WHAT WE DO Post pics or links to studio photos. Your images should show off your space and not just a singular instrument or piece of equipment.
2. SHARING AUDIO If you would like to share the music you make in your space (encouraged!), comment with a link to soundcloud/bancamp/etc. Don't just post links to your music! We want to SEE battlestations here!
3. VIDEO RULES If you are posting a video, from Youtube, Vimeo, Instagram, etc. - LINK IT in a comment or as part of a text post - it has to focus on touring your Battlestation and showing that off. Not just a performance video or music video.
4. ASKING THE COMMUNITY Questions about studio setups, furniture, and gear are welcome. Try to be specific as to what you are looking to do, your budget, etc. for best results. PLEASE search for your question before making a new post - the same questions about desks or chairs is asked often. If your question post is removed, it is likely because it is a repeat.
5. NO PERSONAL ATTACKS Don't like something? Move on. Abusive comments will be removed. Repeated negative behavior will incur a ban.
6. OFT-DOWNVOTED or BOTLIKE ACCOUNTS WILL BE BANNED If your regular comments can't be distinguished from those of a bot, you are either a bot or a low-effort poster and will be removed.

Home setup is a handful of nice synths, controllers, guitars/amps, Push2, I work equally in Logic and Live. I travel a lot, looking for something beyond my laptop/iPad... Have always loved Akai gear but the MPCs feel too big for travel. I love the size/profile of tools like the M8 and Polyend stuff, but I'm not into the tracker workflow, which feels too "math-y" for me. I can't afford an OP1... SP404mkii? Something from Elektron or 1010? Something else? I'm familiar with most of the options, but I'm not sure which one is the most musical in terms of classic songwriting. I'm not really into making beats, more linear and old school (and I am old school in both sound and age). Any thoughts on a seriously portable tool for verse/chorus/bridge kind of songwriting, something that I could throw into a carry-on or backpack? Ideal tool would be an OP1 with proper mini keys for around $500. Thanks for all thoughts
I sing and bought myself a Neumann TLM 103 yesterday. This is an incredible mic but picks up every little noise, besides this I need to start making a little booth to record in. I just have no clue what or where to build it. I have very little space and there is a lot of room noise because there is a heat pump in this room. Does anyone have any idea how I should go about this? I have no clue and an desperate for options.
Just setup my new colourful battlestation and am soooo excited. Also just found this sub and feels like this is maybe the place to share such pics.
Good morning all I'm looking for some help. My boy is interested in making his own music. He's mentioned a keyboard with a beat pad. Do you have any recommendations for begginers. I've seen the AKAI Professional MPK Mini Plus And it looks good, but would appriciate feedback from people who know what they are doing. Thanks for your time.
I’m building my battle station and I’m wondering if I get a 34” ultra wide monitor, does a vesa monitor arm exist that’ll let me lower the monitor below that upper deck if I clamp it there? I’m getting old and like my monitors close. Don’t worry some proper speakers are on my list.
Yamaha hs8. I have wanted a pair of them for like 12+ years. We have been enjoying listening to them all day. They sound amazing.
My band has slowly been creating a space to write and record music. The room is about 12 x 15. Looking for suggestions to improve the functionality, ambience, and, most importantly, the sound diffusing properties of the space. I am installing a few 2x4 acoustic panels somewhere on the along the walls soon. Any new ideas / discussion would be appreciated.
Apologies for any ignorance; I’m looking for some kind of riser shelf I can put either side of my desk for the powered monitor to sit on either side. I’ve got about 30cm from the edge of the desk to spare. Ideally it would have shelves underneath for things like notebooks / laptops / whatever. I just have no clue what to look for when searching etc.
Thanks in advance for any suggestions!
I do have guitars and a drum set their just not in the photo (setup on left is for music and the one on the right is gaming)
Hi everyone,
I’ve had a pair of Genelec 1029s as monitors for over 10 years now and I’m considering a change of scenery, it just feels like the right time.
Wondering how people’s experiences with the genelec 8000, Adam AxV and Dynaudio BM, ranges have been.
I work out of a home studio, mostly with music but I’m starting to do a bit of sound design and dialogue stuff too.
I have a Budget of around $2k USD if anyone has any burning recommendations that aren’t mentioned above.
Thanks in advance
Excuse the clutter but this is where the magic happens.
