MotW submissions/discussion will take place in moderator-created posts
MotW will be determined by upvotes only. One suggestion per comment, please
Once movie has been MotW it can't be MotW again. Please check the Movie Archive to check if your movie has been chosen before. (There will be exceptions for special events eg Marathons, ect)
Let's be nice - personal opinion regarding the films selected may vary greatly. Mocking/personal attacks are not welcome

Edit: Well now!! That was some movie there wasn't it. Real good movie there. Very enjoyable, love the references to the "funny lookin" little guy. Also I can understand all the memes from this movie with Buscemi's face now. Gotta say I'm not sure why but there was a certain gratification I felt watching the father get shot and the husband get arrested that was just -chefs kiss-. Also great to see everyone with that thick Minnesota dont'cha know accent lmao, one of my favorite's. I think overall the actors all did an amazing job. No one person ever had to carry it along. Also Marge's relationship is so wholesome! It doesn't take any kind of spotlight but it's so thoroughly portrayed. I love the story, would watch again.
I'm going to be updating this after I watch the movie since this weeks is the first Winner I have not yet scene(get it)! But the post is here for anybody to discuss. Spoilers ahead, I look forward to hearing from you guys! Also if anybody still needs the Google drive link to watch the movie, let me know.
Hello all! Now I've been thinkin'. Dangerous thing for somebody to do these days amirite huehuehue. Anyway I've been thinking about how best to go about the polls, and movie discussions, and upload schedules, yada yada, and I've come up with a couple little alterations. I'll lay 'em out and if you guys could help with any ideas, it'd be appreciated. I also feel like with this, I'll try a bit of outreach as well to different movie subs to get some activity.
Now these aren't huge changes, but I feel like they'd lead to a smoother feel for everything. Thanks for taking a look if ya did! I'll upload this weeks movie and the discussion will stay open through next week.
I'm running low! Everyone DM me semi-specific attention grabbing movie genres! Nothing too niche though I gotta be able to formulate the list. Lol TIA y'all.
Jesus this one was not my specialty. I'm hoping this list brings these two genres together pretty well. I had to look around and debate and honestly I haven't seen a couple of these lol. I will though!.. if they win. Heerrrrreeee we go.
I absolutely loved this movie when I saw it for the first time a while after it came out. I had no idea what to expect, so it had no room to disappoint lol. It really had me questioning things while I was watching it. I totally expected it to be him, and while in hindsight all the signs were there, I just missed 'em or didn't wanna see 'em, not totally sure. But this one really took me for a loop. Couple starters for you guys.
What'd ya think of Harrison Ford?
Who did you expect to be the one?
Are you also excited to see Batista in more sci-fi movies?
Which Blade Runner has more rewatchability in your opinion?
Edit: alright I was wondering how to choose what classics for the list but looks like you guys helped me out! I'll be combining the two winning genres in order to narrow down my choices. Thanks guys!
Options, options, options. Choices, Mr. Anderson, choices. We got 'em for ya ass. (A little late but that's besides the point). Below we've got another handcrafted list personally curated by yours truly, so sit back, relax, grab a drink, and vote for the next 3 days. B-)
Edit: I love this week's winner! Uploading now so should be available in the drive, if there's anybody who still needs a link heerrrreee ya goooo.

Hello all!! Been a bit busy, so poll is a bit late, also been trying to put together a good list for our genre this week: Sci-fi with a twist! There were a lot of films that could fit into this genre so it was difficult to narrow it down. But there'll always be more time for sci-fi in the future. So without further ado, let's get the list goin!
As previously stated, I am very close friends with Emily Blunt. She told me to tell you guys she likes the other title better. Edge of Tomorrow sounds more time travel-y than alien-y. As a matter of fact it should've just been called Groundhog D-Day. Her words not mine but man, she's funny guys. In any case! A couple topics, some to do with lore, some not lol. Also feel free to chime in with anything about the movie (I know how much easier a poll is to respond to though so no pressure)! Let's seeee:
How long do you think he was repeating for!?
How close are we to exo-suits? :o
I'm assuming Tom Cruise is repeating the day because during his first death that big blue bastard squirted his life blood, or whatever the time travel alien equivalent is, on him. But how could nobody else happen to be dying at the same time as an alien and have this happen? Was he the first? Or did it happen to multiple people but they're all living their own timelines?
Who knows!? There is no right answer, it's a movie. We're free to assume anything lol. Within reason.. famous last words.. Let's talk guys!
Somehow I knew the runner up would be what it was. But there's some more hopefully interesting choices to go with it. I also want to make the comments of the genre polls where you can come to recommend movies for the next weeks poll, *after* there's a winner of course. The stakes are set, take your bids.
Edit: Here's the updated drive, you should still be able to access the container folder, Movie of the Week, if you bookmark it, I'll be adding each weeks movie in its own folder. The lower res of Step Brothers is the only one available, for storage reasons. Here ya go mateys!

Hey guys looks like it's about that... tiiiiiiime. If ya wanna kill me for that go ahead, just know I'm going to wake up alive in my bathroom to the tune of Gotta Get Up by Harry Nilsson, I'm going to tighten my orange jumper around my mouth, and go meet up with my best friend Emily Blunt. And also Bill Murray. And Bruce Willis.
If I didn't just sound crazy to you (or you already saw the results of the last poll), you may have guessed this weeks genre. Time Loop Movies!! Not a crazy amount out there, probably some obscure ones, which I'll welcome as personal recommendations. But I think we've got some fun ones in here. Here we go!
Prestige Worldwide! (wide.. wide.. wide..)! My fellow boats and hoes, we are here to discuss, share funny stories and stupidity, and have a light hearted first conversation. I also have some topics ready for anyone who's already watched the movie or doesn't quite know how to start:
The first time you saw this movie
Your own ridiculous improbable friendship
Stories about sleepwalking
Being an adult child
Garage karate
Homemade bunk beds
Eating dogshit
Growing up
Shark week
Hopefully these give some inspiration, and if anyone has actual questions (or topics lol) just chime in! Looking forward to talking to everybody! -insert closing drum solo-
DID WE JUST BECOME BEST FRIENDS?! Everybody, we have a wiener. The sleepwalking, garage-karate masters, Dragon and Night Hawk, have swayed enough of your opinions to chooooose Step Brothers. Released in 2008, the iconic story of two adult children being forced into situations they never expected or prepared for. This movie may be dumb, but that doesn't mean it's bad. There are important lessons hidden deep, deep, deep, deepdeepdeepdeep down. Now, anyone who hasn't seen the movie, wants to watch it in class, or doesn't own it, we never bring anything in unless everyone gets some so here ya go mateys:

This drive will be updated each week and I'll only delete movies when there's not enough space for the next. That being said, I'll also attempt to provide as high of quality as I can. Have a good movie night, see you guys in the discussion thread (-:
I'm sure you guys are gonna get tired of reading "Hello!", I'll work on my banter. Now, I want everyone to have a vote or some kind of input on something, so I'm introducing a second poll each week! My plan is to have 6 semi specific movie genres, things that'll stir up discussion. I'm also going to include the first runner up in the next weeks poll, in case people wanted to vote for more than one.
On your marks.
Get set.
Vote!
IT'S ALLIIIVVVEEEE. (Hopefully not foreshadowing my demise). Hello! It's time. Call it low effort, call it a cop out, call it what you will but I'll call it DUMB. Lol, inspired by the last poll which never had a discussion, I am revamping the Dumb genre poll. I am keeping the original winner, because it's just too good to leave out, but there's some contenders in there. Heerrrrreee we go.
Edit: I will have a google drive folder at the end of voting with the winning movie that I will keep updated each week, so don't worry about having a subscription service.
Hello all! I'm u/magodehongo and I'm a new moderator on the sub (-: I'm very excited to start a new weekly discussion with everybody. I have always had a special place in my heart for movies. By no means is my knowledge complete or even especially extensive, but I am resourceful and love watching movies, so it's always expanding. And I love talking about em after, so I look forward to having people to discuss them with.
Now, my basic plan is to have 2 polls pinned per week. The first to vote on the movie of the week, in which voting will stay open for 3 days and then stay pinned so that people can see the winner. And the second to vote on the genre for the next Movie of the Week poll, which will stay open for 4 days, so I have time to curate a list.
Which brings me to my next point, reviving the sub! I really hope that people will participate, and I will be putting in my part! But for now as far as I know, I will be the only active mod until there's more post traffic going on. So if there's any suggestions, any recommendations, any requests, please keep them in the comments of the polls and I will stay updated.
Tl;dr: I'm a new mod, trying to revive the weekly movie discussion, very excited, look out for weekly polls.
