Trackdays You can ride ANY motorcycle at the track, but do check with the specific organizations to be sure (limitations are usually only on bikes below 125cc- see Kart tracks below if your bike is "too small"). Some rent bikes, tire warmers, generators, and leathers. All should provide gas, tire and suspension services trackside and sometimes help with minor repair issues (missing bolts, bent levers, etc).
Kart/Mini Tracks Best suited for smaller/low cc bikes and Super Motos. Typically provide fewer or no services (no tires, suspension, gas, etc).

It was quite cold up there… kept riding further but the temperature dropped quite drastically and need some thermals for the upcoming months…
If anyone down to show me a spot and maybe ride.
Anybody in DTLA?
I had a non-running, but mechanically sound bike in storage that was stolen ~6-10 weeks ago. It was recovered and impounded. They shaved the VIN off and after some back and forth proving ownership I am able to get it out
In order for me to get the bike out I need somebody present with a valid M1, which I no longer have. Haven't ridden since my accident 2 years ago and have no need for a car. All of my riding friends are out of town and its racking up daily storage fees
The bike is located at 2119 E 25th St, Los Angeles, CA 90058
Would anybody be willing to meet me there for ~10 minutes to get it released? No need to ride it/transport it for me. Willing to agree on payment to make it worth your time
Pic of bike in its better days for visibility
Hey guys. I have a 2024 ninja 1000sx and I want to get a full exhaust on it. As you all know California has blocked full exhaust installs. However I still see them around on the road. I was wondering how people are able to circumvent this law and give me some options. Thanks
¿Has any one gone biking along this roadway? I've been along the roadway in my car and saw it had a fair number of decently-paved sections, even with some sections of dirst and gravel-strewn pavement. I would imagine that, if taken at a slow and cautious pace, it could be done on a street-motorcycle.
Evening everyone it's Greyson
I want to take care of my motorcycle and I do not have the tools, knowledge, nor space to be working on my bike beyond washing a chain and changing my oil. I just took my bike to a place called Motorcycle Performance Services out in LA city and they changed my chain for a decent price (I provided parts).
The guy there said that I'm going to need my 'major' service done soon, since it appears the bike wasn't given its service from the previous owner and we're creeping up on the 25k mark on my 2021 Z400. He quoted me about 800-900 on it, which would include the valve check.
That's a steep price but I was prepared for that. His shop is a little far from me though, and I'd like to know if there are any other places in LA/Westside that you guys would take your bikes to for this service, and also what you would estimate is a good price for complicated jobs like valve adjustments and such.
Thank you,
Greyson
Hi everyone. I’ve been riding from a few months now and with autumn and winter coming soon I was thinking to buy some warmer gear. Los Angeles can get quite cold late at night in the winter, so since I also ride during those late hours I am looking for suggestions from you more experiences riders. Should I go with full padded winter gloves for example, or would that be an overkill? How do you guys layer to change during the different times of the day? Temperatures differences during the day are a bit crazy here! Any suggestion is welcome, thank you very much 🌴⛄️🌴
I was in Little Tokyo and decided to get some photos in. Hope you guys like it as I did.
All of the course options for 1 day certification from CMSP are $425. I understand safety is invaluable and whatnot, but that's a ridiculous amount of money. I took a safety course about 8 years ago for $125. More than 3x the price in 8 years??
Anyone know of alternatives in the LA area?
Hi I am a new rider and I have been riding my ninja 500 for the last 5 months all by myself. I have been looking all over the place for a rider buddy or a group that would let me join but nobody responds. If any of u guys would like to be weird everywhere just hmu pls. I’m located in Ktown LA…
Hey all, any recommendations for people to follow on instagram or youtube who make fun videos about riding motorcycles around the LA area?
This was removed from the losangeles sub reddit so hope it fits better here but still not really sure as I'm not part of the community and this technically happened west of diamond bar but....
To the 3 bikers west on 60 tonight around 930pm with a purple mustang guard.
Shout out to your driver bc he was an og tonight guarding yalls butts. I'm not a biker but I love seeing bikers on the highways but sometimes yall scare me bc you being small and all especially at night. Tonight on my way back to LA I saw some bikers west bound on 60 and yall were vibing. Took me a sec but realized a purple mustang was following you so figured they were your guard or something and boy howdy dude is an og. I was cruising behind yall for a bit when a white toyota(?) tried passing crossing 3 lanes very quickly and that mustang pulled out and legit swerved into the far lane to protect yall at his own potential detriment.
Give them a beer for me! Other cars had been passing you guys at a relatively (to someone in a car that's only been on a bike once) safe distance but that Toyota really tried pulling a fast one on yous.
Hope yall made it home safe.
Ps. If yous do be out there could I get a daylight pic of that mustang?
Hope I didn't break any rules....
I'm a little over 3 months into riding and have been really enjoying waking up early on weekends to ride to a breakfast spot. I'm trying to venture a little outside of LA as to challenge myself so do you all have any suggestions for diners/ breakfast spots/ little towns to check out?
Hey everyone,
Just rode my BMW RnineT down the PCH from BC, Canada to LA and I'm staying near Pasadena for the next couple of weeks before I head back. I wanna hit Mulholland Dr, Topanga and any other classic roads in the neighborhood.
I'm a decent rider that's been riding for 15ish years (male in my late 30s) but don't do anything too crazy (lanesplitting/filtering is new to me, and I typically don't go that far over the speed limits) let me know if there's any other cool kids that wanna go for a ride or go to any of the local bike hang outs.
Selling brand new Alpinestars SMX-6 V2 racing boots. They are black, with white Astars logo, red trim and red toe sliders. Although they are track focused boots, they are unbelievably comfortable. I only wore them once. Asking $200, they are normally around $300.

Never ride a motorcycle in US but yes in my country.
I have my own vehicle but traffic is horrible everyday here in Los Angeles. I am looking for a motorcycle for my transportation. (My wife has her vehicle)
I have DL C class in CA with enough age lol.
I searched little bit. I need to do writing test to get a permit and then skill test or some courses not to take a skill test. Am I correct?
My question is, if I have only a permit, can I buy a motorcycle with insurance and registration?
Thank you so much.
Hello I’m planning to move to Woodland Hills, but will be working near LAX. Google Maps advises to head east to the 405 and take that down. How does that compare to riding through Topanga Canyon and taking the PCH south or Topanga Canyon then switching to the 405.
Commuting during typical work hours, so I imagine traffic will be pretty slow and I can land split 405 to save some time, but what’s traffic like through the canyon and PCH during typical commute/rush hours and How would a ride compare on the two considering time/safety?
Where are people looking for used motorcycles? It used to be Craigslist, but lately it seems like it’s dead. Where do you look for bikes?
Edit: thanks for all of the suggestions. Looks like I need to create a facebook account
Everyone is welcome / make friends / plan rides
Hey just wondering what everyone wears for the summer. I pretty much just ride to work and back. Rarely on the highway. I’ve been itching to get some new gear. Thanks!
A friend of mine I want to visit in Palmdale, and they told me to not go through Angeles Crest as 'people die there all the time, especially horrible for motorcycles'. But I started researching it and it seems .. like a beautiful ride. I'm not 100% comfortable with fast corners yet but I don't have to go fast, right?
I was planning on going through there midday tomorrow, maybe 11am-12pm. Is this a good idea?

Does anyone know of any free moto parking in dtla around Broadway/5th? I just moved and it’s $150 per month to park in a corner … I’ve visited a few other garages in the area and they all want to charge $$$, I’ve also scoped their areas out and I didn’t see even one bike in sight
I’ve seen a few videos where bikers will take out their key and show the police before putting it on the ground.
Do people run from cops in LA enough where that is actually seen as a sign of respect towards the LEO pulling you over? Is it just me or does that feel a little extra?
Evening everyone, I am Greyson.
I've been using my motorcycle for about 3 weeks and I just started getting on the freeways. I usually take the 405, 110, 105 freeways, and when I do, I use the express lanes since I'm told they're free. Lately, I've been driving on roads that have 'FasTrak' on them, and going under the fare gates with the red numbers flashing have started to make me nervous ... I don't want to get a ticket, I hear those are really expensive.
But the Los Angeles area has many 'FasTrak' services. There's the 'toll roads' for Orange County that use FasTrak, there's the Metro Express Lanes that require you use a transponder... I do not know what to get, where to use it, and if I even need to use it.
So for you more experienced motorcyclists out there, what do I need (at least in the LA area, a bit down to orange and the Valley) to ensure I don't get ticketed and I have the means to pay any toll I need to on my bike?
Thank you,
Greryson
Looking for a mechanic to bring a 1981 KZ550 back from sitting for 2 years. No shops will take me in. I’m in Hollywood. Melrose Moto is very hesitant.
Would be happy with a guy in his garage that is familiar with older Japanese bikes.
Hi there!
Quit riding a few years ago and was clearing stuff out of my storage unit when I found some used gear. Currently have it up for sale on eBay but can offer local pickup and obviously a Reddit discount if anyone has interest here. You can even try it on if you’re not sure it’ll fit! Please see below for listings which include pics (can also provide more pics):
