RULES
1.) No verbal abuse. If you don't have anything nice to say, it's best not to say anything at all. Remember, we were all newbies once. Mining isn't exactly a trivial venture.
2.) No Referral Links. No Amazon/eBay referral links. No mining pool referral links. No mining contract referral links. No referral links, period.
3.) No Promoting New Altcoins. If there is a new altcoin out, this is not the place to discuss or promote it. Find the altcoin's community instead.
4.) No short-URLs. Nobody should have to trust you before clicking on a link. URL-shortener services serve no use on Reddit as there is nothing restricting the size of your comment string.
Anybody caught violating the rules will be banned. If you notice somebody abusing the subreddit rules, please message the moderators.
All members of the MoneroCommunity subreddit are expected to read and follow the Official Reddit Rules as well as the informal Reddiquette guidelines.
Likewise, all moderators of this subreddit follow the Modiquette.
Now that all that is out of the way, we work hard to make this a welcoming, collaborative atmosphere. Feel free to ask questions, even if you think they are stupid.

If I recall correctly, I was told that the architecture of Monero is flexible enough to permit 'showing' certain information that is currently hidden by default.
I understand that not all individuals would want to get involved with KYC and all that, and prefer fully obfuscated transactions from beginning to end. I certainly hope that would remain a default.
Monero is such a well-designed coin, is there a way to present it so that Mastercard might consider it as a 'legit' coin to support? Maybe where the identities of the sender and receiver are revealed for Mastercard transactions per their policies and practices?
I would really like to see Monero get some mainstream use without compromising the essential coin architecture. I recognize that I'm sort of asking two questions not one. The first is regarding flipping bits on the coin itself for certain transactions only, and the second is less intrusive as it merely has KYC requirements and verifications at the endpoints.
I'm a dumbass.. Bittrex dropping monero in April so was seeking a place to put it in bit of a hurry. imymonero.com is a scam. They have solid search rankings, I fell for it-- thankfully only sent a small amount as an initial test but any loss stings. I should have checked closer-- lesson learned. When you're your own bank, slow down and take your time. Looks like the domain was just registered this month. Damnit! Education costs money ;)
Looking for an easy and comfortable way buying cripto via an App

The Idea Of BLOCKCHAIN Makes DECENTRALIZED CONSENSUS Possible And It Is Used In Different CRYPTOCURRENCIES Like MONERO, BITCOIN, ETHERIUM, And DOGECOIN.
Canberra, Melbourne or Sydney. Please DM me! Been looking at localmonero.co etc but people no longer offering this service/don't reply.
Thanks for your assistance!
Running a node with the GUI wallet, I also mine. I was just curious if there is a way,or if anyone is working on a way to mine with the gpu instead of cpu with the GUI Wallet. If there was GPUs to buy out there I would build a rig. I have a 2080ti in my pc I would love to utilize. Someone out there please let me know something.
To those making painstaking efforts to understand and benefit from the knowledge of the inner workings of Monero- YOU CAN DO ANYTHING YOU PUT YOUR MIND TO. Do it! It will be worth it.
I’ve read Mastering Monero and just starting From Zero To Monero. I’ve also watched Monero Means Money and Sound Money Safe Mode. I’m now taking in The Monero Talks podcasts and YouTube channel plus Getmonero.org. Furthermore, I’ve started a Cryptography book by Douglas Stinson and as well as a book demonstrating the basic functions of the command line terminal. These projects may take a year to complete. Finally, I created a free website to promote Monero and attach a domain name as soon as I am sure if it’s content. (https://monero.godaddysites.com) Right now, the site is just promoting the official Monero site and other educational interfaces. I’ve been doing this since my introduction to Monero last June when I knew NOTHING AT ALL. Now, I’m just getting an inkling of inspiration and knowledge.
Any other suggestions?

I’m new to cryptos, just set up a Monero wallet. How to I add funds ?
For some time now, I've been migrating to purely decentralized, uncensorable social networks: Twitter-like Member and Facebook-like Secure Scuttlebutt (for which I set up a Monero community "Pub"/entry point at https://xmr-pub.net)
I've just started using the Reddit-like called Aether: https://getaether.net/
I have to say -- I'm in love! Aether looks like the Reddit-killer I've been dreaming of. It is fully decentralized/serverless/peer-to-peer. Very similar to SSB in terms of content-addressed storage architecture.
And there is already a Monero sub there, though right now it's mostly just a shell with a few months-old introductory posts.
One possible down side I see is that content auto-deletes after 6 months. So it's useful for current news and on-topic stuff, but not for a long term repository/wiki/etc.
It claims to be privacy-focused, but I don't immediately see exactly how. I would expect it can be torified; I'd love to play with that aspect a bit.
Has anybody else here taken a look?
Does anyone here know where the original Java implementation source code of CryptoNote is now?
And is there any way to extract this CryptoNote version 1 paper from this site?

Just couldn't rip it out from the site... (am using a Vista OS desktop and Firefox browser ver. 50)
If I use Kraken which has my real world Id linked, could I then buy monero, transfer it to cake wallet, and then from cake wallet, to my wallet on tails. or would that still be traceable, any help would be appreciated.
On the getmonero.org page, under the CLI Wallet section, I noticed a download for Android OS.
I downloaded it then opened the archive. There isn't an apk file for this wallet.
How do I get the APK file?
