Not sure where to start

I have been having some weird health issues and got a test done with a natural practitioner. She said my scan came back with the most mold in the body that she has seen on anyone she has tested.. which makes me super nervous..

It came back that I have in my body

  • Ochratoxin A
  • Aspergillus
  • Candida
  • Penicillium
  • Myrothecium

I live in a really old house built in the 1900s and now I am worried all of this is caused by mold in my home. I’m not even sure what to do next :(

I'm in a spiral about my stuff. Please help!

I have a closet that is full of crafting supplies and costumes. Today I went digging for something in the very back of the closet and found mold and water damage (assumed, paint was peeling and puckered).

I am now in a panic about everything in that closet. I've already decided that anything that was touching a contaminated wall has to get trashed, but I have a handful of costumes, most in garment bags, that I am terrified I have to trash. I didn't notice any visible mold on anything, yet.

So, I guess the big question is when should something be trashed and what is safe?

Edit: the closet is on two exterior walls of a 1942 Georgian house. Assumption is we need to get some tuckpointing done.

Car Mold and sore nose

Hello everyone! Periodically I have an incredibly sore nose (just inside the opening) and I’ve had no idea why. It occurred to me today that it could be mold? I have a small patch of mold in the footwell behind the drivers seat in my car (broken seal lets water in).

Could this cause my nose soreness or am I conflating two unrelated things? Google was no help so I thought I’d come to the experts.

Ps, I do scrub the mold out every couple of months and have tried to fix the seal but I live in England and drive a fiat, so the rain will always be there as will some form of non-water tightness.

We Inspect post-inspection call

So we ended up contracting We Inspect to do a mold inspection. I know a lot of the tests they gather can be considered BS. Any advice on which ones to actually approve on our follow up call? We won’t be doing an ERMI approval bc we did one ourselves a month ago.

Concern for wall mounted HVAC?

What is the likelihood of this being toxic mold? How concerned should I be... I have severe allergies/ asthma so I can't check the filter and coils etc. on my own but will investigate that further with someone else.

The last couple of weeks I've started using the HVAC to heat my rental as it's gotten colder and have been having issues with my allergies/ asthma... other things could be causing it but I stopped the last few days just in case. I put the heating on for 1 minute to take these pictures tonight with a mask on and had a massive reaction/ episode like I've been having.

I could be reacting to dust, pollen built up in it but I'm very concerned that I'm reacting to toxic mold? Is there a way to know if it's toxic vs non toxic mold before contacting land lord etc for it to be cleaned/ tested.

I don't know if I should get someone to wipe it down but if it's toxic should it be left untouched?

Possible Black Mold on Rental Property

Over past few weeks I have noticed that ,my carpet has been accumulating black spots that seem to appear spontaneously. I am worried because it is in a spot of the carpet where i regular spilled alcohol and orange juice chases back when i was drinking heavily. I am worried that I am responsible for said possible mold because the property is new and I have been the first tennent to live in the room. I share a 5 bedroom house with some strangers i met online 4 months ago. Our landlord told us we need to hire a professional carpet cleaning service to power wash the whole upstairs carpet and stairs and I am afraid that a carpet cleaner might identify mold in my room and "rat me out"

I have renter insurance. If this is in fact mold, would renters insurance cover my ass if it was eventually linked to me?

I have attached a photo of the area of carpet in concern. This was right after i soaked the carpet in 90 ethyl alcohol for the 4th day in a row, so thats why there are boundary stains. Does this look anything like mild and if so, am i covered, and if not, what can I do to make 100% sure that its at least not visible at the surface?

Thank you so much.

Wet couch - can it develop mold

I had a small fire incident in my apartment, which caused the sprinklers to activate. Although the firefighters swiftly resolved the issue, my couch got damp due to the sprinklers. Thankfully, it wasn't directly under them. The building's restoration team promptly provided dehumidifiers, which have been running for a day now. While the couch feels dry, should I be concerned about the possibility of mold forming? Do I need to toss the couch out?
