The subreddit for the Dixie State Senate, for use with /r/ModelSouthernState as a part of /r/ModelUSGov.
This subreddit is officially closed, due to state-level Senates no longer being used.
Bills are posted once every 2 days. Reading/amendment proposal 2 days, amendment voting 2 days, and voting 2 days, after which the same cycle will be repeated in the other house. The aforementioned time periods may be subject to changes by the Speaker and the Lieutenant Governor.
Bills that do not reach quorum during a vote are relegated back to the docket.

Sorry, everyone, I linked these three items wrongly and it wouldn't be fair to count votes on them last time as legitimate. You'll have to vote on them again.
Amendments phase will last for two days; remember that all amendments must be seconded to proceed to a vote.
Due to the Assembly bills that need to come up in the Senate and the fact that having 2 days of the Senate doing nothing is weird, the posting schedule is changed. Now it’s like the Assembly and whenever results are posted the next round comes up. The Senate President can still say what he wants to come up and more than two (within reason). In the absence of instructions I’ll take the oldest bills, with preference for Senate docket items over all Assembly passed items.
