Im a man and ive been going bald since i was 17, and its a serious negative on my self confidence. Ive lost a lot of weight lately (so much my extra chin is gone, woo!) but i still feel like shit every time i look in the mirror if i even slightly tilt my head down. I tried Best Hair, and they want over 1,000$ a month to "professionally" apply a hair system with "medical glue that civilians dont have access to."
Im FINE with doing all the work to apply and maintain it myself, i just need somewhere that sells it and will cut it to the right shape.
There are plenty of wig shops around here, but i have a MASSIVE head, i wear 4xl hats for reference, so none of them have anything that works for me. I checked.
I’ve picked up a used Hyundai Ioniq 5 (electric) and I’m trying to decide which Hyundai dealer to get some service and maintenance work done.
Anyone have any thoughts between eastern shore and palmers?
This might sound really dumb. I know the airport is over here, but it seems like I have been hearing way more planes than usual. And they been like back to back. Idk maybe I never paid attention to it before but it’s been back to back almost for about 30 minutes or so. Anyone else notice this?
Does anyone have a recommendation for a mechanic to replace an engine in a Hyundai Tucson?
Are they really open 24 hours?
We’ve got a lot of household trash we need to throw out. But,every dump I look at says no house hold trash? Where can we take it?
Im a heating and air guy looking to pick up some extra work. Im in Mobile. If anyone in the area is needing attic insulation or any air duct work, give me a shout. I will make sure to give you the best price for your needs. I have great references and have worked in the area over 5 years now.
Are there any Olympic-sized indoor pools in the overall Mobile area? And, if not, what are the options for indoor pools for swimming laps?
Are there any places where I can buy a whole raw lobster? Dead or alive for cooking. In Mobile or surrounding area?
Looking for recommendations on a place to buy 30 lbs. sacks of live crawfish. Do not mind if I have to drive 2-3 hours from Mobile to purchase/pick up. Thanks for your help.

I’m trying to move to another part of Mobile (preferably something closer to Saraland area, but not limited to that). I’m an honest, respectful, responsible guy with good history with all my past landlords. I’m not a party animal either, just looking for a place to sleep and relax. I’m looking for a garage, apt., anything. I’m considering all sorts of places (preferably <$1k). The ONLY thing is that I need it to be month by month, and payable in cash. But if anyone hears or knows anything please let me know. Thanks y’all!
Advice on where to shop or look for a decent washing machine. Just moved to the area a few months ago and got a cheap washer that has given up already. Have tried a couple Facebook posts but they have been scammy. Just wondered if there was a decent local place I should check out. Appreciate any help.
I was going through my screenshots and found this perfect example to show anyone what driving in Mobile is like.
Watch the movie, LIVE the madness.
Went to the one at the Festival Center today. I was there when they unlocked the door, and I went right back. Got the general exam, and then I needed x rays. Got those. So far, so good!
Well, turns out she 'zoomed in too far' so I needed to get them redone. It's okay, it happens. And I needed blood work. Cool, let's go!
"Well....we only have one tech, soooo..... it will be a little while."
ONE HOUR LATER
I went to the front desk to see if I could rebook. I had to get back to work! I 'd been gone 2 1/2 hours at this point. They told me to come back tomorrow morning.
As I left, there were easily THIRTY people in that waiting room. One tech. OOOOKAY.
I work downtown and there’s some great places to eat (Squid Ink, Noble South). I’d love to find a salad joint close to home (Midtown) or work though. Any suggestions?
I get wanting to make your business known - especially small businesses, but this subreddit is not the place to spam your detailing gig or your friend's online dog course.
We have the Lagniappe. We have WZEW/WBLX. We have WKRG. There are FB pages specifically for advertising your local business. We have so many local resources that it's ridiculous to scroll this sub to keep up with local events and see every 5th post is an ad.
People come here all the time to ask about what restaurants, parks, hotels, etc. they need to visit. Eventually, someone will come around asking "Who does detail work?" and that's when you tell them "Hey, I had so-and-so do this, and it was great"
Nobody wants to be advertised to, we just deal with it. The best market is word of mouth, and an ad on the local radio is probably one of the best ROI a local business can make - especially around here.
Im 17 year old and I’m in online school so i don’t really get a lot of social interaction with others, I was wondering if anyone needed a buddy to hang or chat with if so hit my line
I recently moved over and was wondering if there were any basketball rec leagues or just runs going on
I’m looking for a charity of some sort to collect donations and get out in the community. I am the charity person for my work. And so far we’ve served families at the Ronald McDonald house, school supply drive and free hair cuts, collected animal donations for the Mobile county animal shelter. But I’m wanting to really get out there and help make a difference in some lives. I’m so big on giving back. But google isn’t really helping me. Who do y’all work with or know that needs help?
What’s the deal with this guy, Jose, who lives in Sarasota, Florida, and loves to come to Mobile specifically to drive through the rundown areas of the city and declare to the world that this is Mobile? He posted one video three years ago and came back recently to make another Mobile-bashing video. His comments are racist as f**k, for example, he describes his drive-throughs as “African safari.” Yes he really did say that, see 35:29 in this video I’ve linked to. He keeps repeating that phrase several times in the next minute or so.
He picks what are the poorest areas of Mobile and films chiefly those areas. He also loves to bash on Alabama in general as there are several videos of other parts of Alabama that he targeted for maximum shock factor. And proceeds to make some of the most ignorant commentaries I’ve ever heard full of assumptions and bias and, yes, racism.
I’ve reported the video for hate speech and sharing on here for awareness of what’s he doing.

Edit: I see huge value in filming impoverished areas for awareness. I think it's absolutely necessary to help us see what it really looks like to help drive community action to make changes to improve the conditions. Many of us don't ever go into those areas. What rubbed me wrong were the incredibly ignorant and racist comments. If someone made the exact same video and titled it "What Mobile's poorest neighborhoods look like" or "Poverty in Mobile" or something like that, something neutral, and the commentary is neutral, informative, and sympathetic, I would not have a problem with the video.
Any suggestions on where to donate or recycle ice packs or styrofoam coolers?
We throw hundreds of them away at my job and would love for them to go somewhere besides a land fill.
As someone relatively new to the South, what are some of the popular soda brands other than coke/Pepsi and fanta/Sunkist? I'm talking like the regional sodas of the south.
