Im by fariboult but id drive to modern sportsman in burnsville if anyone wants to shoot
So now that it's November, and as far as I know Keith Ellison didn't appeal to the Supreme Court, that would mean that 18-20 year olds should be able to apply for concealed carry permits right?
Any recommendations for where to take a concealed carry course/test that provides the needed certificate (upon passing their test)?
-I know that I’ll need to submit an application at the sheriff’s office once I get the certificate.
Also, it seems like different courses have different passing requirements/tests? Is this actually true, and if so, what are those test conditions for whatever course you’ve done or recommend?
—COURSES—
I know The Modern Sportsman has a course where you need to make so many shots with two handed and one handed shooting within an oval at different distances. (Didn’t look to close at the exact requirements when I was there)
Anyone know anything about Concealed Coalition? ConcealedCarryCourse
Thanks!
Im in hennepin county. I was wondering what the wait times are like between these two permits. I know they both have 30 days to accept or deny, and when I got my PTP they took the full 30 days. I think I got the PTP on day 29. Should I expect the same kind of wait from the sheriffs office as well or do they generally move a little quicker? TIA and sorry if this is a dumb question.
Edit: I ended up using Armslist as some have suggested here - using coupon code 'OVERLOAD', got one month of personal listings for $0.99 in case anyone has a similar need to sell in the future. Thanks all!
**Disclaimer off the bat -- to adhere to the subreddit rules, I'm not listing what caliber, type, or quantity of the ammo I have for sale, simply looking for advice on how/where others have had success selling as I've never sold unused ammo before. Not seeking a transaction in any shape or form.**
I had two firearms that I sold together 5+ years ago when I needed cash badly for an emergency. Long story short, I still have a bulk amount of ammo (context around tips for how to best to ship, if an option) that I'm looking to sell privately. I don't intend to purchase another gun in the future that shoots this caliber. Ideally wouldn't like to ship it as I've read that USPS won't ship it. UPS might with certain restrictions (?)
Wondering how others have had success selling ammo either via web forms to ship, locally for pickup, etc. Thanks gang!
Hey everyone (I'm new here, so please go easy on me)!
I live in the southern Twin Cities area and I’m looking for range recommendations as winter approaches. I have my CCL and mainly shoot my 9mm Luger, sometimes with a conversion kit (still 9mm rounds, just a slightly longer barrel). I'm not afraid of a long drive, so send any and all suggestions my way!
I've driven up to northern WI twice now to hit public outdoor ranges and camp—just to scratch the itch to empty some mags—but with cold weather setting in, I’d love to find closer outdoor options or indoor ranges. I’d prefer somewhere that’s beginner-friendly (I know my way around range etiquette, but I’m used to open spaces). Ideally, I’d like to keep range or membership fees reasonable, but I’m willing to pay a bit more if the environment and staff are great.
Thanks in advance for your help, and happy hunting/shooting!
So I just passed my conceal carry class yesterday and now I’m worried I’ll be denied for having been convicted for an mis conduct misdemeanor charge back in 2019 and finished my probation in 2020 I believe. So I was wanted to know if anyone has had a similar experience with this and how they dealt with it. Any advice, questions, or comments are appreciated thanks.
Edit* I’ve seen a lot of people with all levels of misdemeanor getting denied in mn recently so that is what worries me
I’m 18, if a neighbor of mine wanted to transfer a firearm to me. would I be able to go hunting even if I don’t have a ccw permit with the firearm that I have gotten from my neighbor or would that be against the law?
I’m 18 with a permit to purchase and I want to buy a pistol for the range please correct me if I’m wrong but can I buy a pistol from a private seller at 18 since I am allowed to possess it ???And if so where would I do this since online it would have to be shipped to an ffl dealer ????
Has anyone done Florida out of state permit recently? Curious what turnaround has been for out of state (assuming a little longer because of recent hurricanes). And how the fingerprint part works. The link they use on their licensing website is a dead link lol.
Curious what people like to collect as far as firearms
Planning on moving from NC to MN next year, but I'm seeing some conflicting information whether there's a magazine capacity law or an assault weapons ban going into effect.
I wanna get my first gun soon and I know I want to get a handgun before I get an AR (I’m 18 btw) but I don’t know if I should get a p80 build it my self or just hop on armlist get the subscription whatever find a something I like or go to a gun show but I just thought I get advice first.
Hey all. I had a permit to purchase a few years back but have sinced moved so I went to get a new one in my current city. I filled out the form and turned it in at my local police department with a copy of my ID. I got a letter saying it was Denied but with no explanation. I reached out and they said I need to contact an attorney.
I have no criminal history at all, not even a parking ticket. I looked at the statutes and nothing applies to me as a reason to reject my application.
Has anyone run into something like this? Are there other ways to proceed other than shelling out a ton of money for an attorney?
Savage Arms 64 precision .22lr with a bushnell TRS-25 red dot, gonna get a mlok foregrip and a Witt Machine SME since it has a threaded barrel
Hello I was wondering as a 18years old, and the thing that I really wanted to obtain was a shotgun whenever i get my firearms permit to purchase. I was wondering as a 18 year old what is the smallest length/ width of a shotgun, and rounds of ammo that can be put into a shotgun that an 18 year old can own
Looking for recommendations for a gun smith to install a FSB on a 20" govt. profile FN CHF barrel.
Is there any semi global list out there of businesses that do(or do not) allow firearms?
Like every Allina health location i know of prohibits them. But Kwik Trip seems to have no issues.
Fleet Farm is still running the ammo sale on 9mm Blazer Brass 115gr/124gr and they also have Aguilia 22lr Super Extra 40 gr 1255 fps on sale too. You can mix and match and if you spend $500 the coupon code HARVEST24 will take $100 off. This will bring the 22lr down to just over 4.1 cpr and 9mm to 22.7cpr. or lower if you use your fleet farm visa. They do have a limit on the 22lr of fifty 50-round boxes. The code also works on lesser amounts too -
Well this might be a dumb question but here it goes. I purchased a scoped muzzleloader 6 years ago and had my buddy that was in the service sight it in. Because of my job I’m unable to find any daylight hours to do so, I moved 2 years ago and my scope took the slightest of bumps and is no longer sighted in. My buddy is no longer with us and I have no time to sight it in? Is there any gunsmith’s or gun shops in Minnesota that sight them in? I’m in west central Minnesota and any advice is appreciated.
Just wondering if the State sends letters notifying the need to renew a CCW permit. With my renewal coming up I’d like to get ahead of the letter if they do send one as I currently live with someone family that has been making my renewal a heated source of argument.
I’m going to be in the Saint Paul area on business the week following the election.
Unfortunately I can’t change the timing of my trip, and while I have been to the area before w/o my firearm, I’m slightly concerned about post-election violence potentially occurring in the area following the election.
I’m a resident of Arizona and I have a valid Idaho Enhanced Conceal Carry Permit along with carry permits from Arizona, Nevada and Oregon, none of which I believe are recognized by the state of MN except for my ID enhanced permit for reciprocity purposes.
This will be my first time potentially concealed carrying in Minnesota let alone the Twin City area.
I normally lean on handgunlaw.us as my initial starting point of reference for legal situational awareness when carrying in states other than my own.
Given that you all are more familiar with Minnesota’s gun laws I wanted to ask you all for any important items/information to consider when carrying in the Twin Cities?
Thank you all in advance for advice!
New to the area, came from a state with lots of public land for shooting, never even considered joining a range until I moved here. Looking for recommendations on ranges in the Rochester area, I have heard good things about Pine Island but I'd love other options. Trying to avoid fudds obviously. Would love somewhere that allows movement and barricade shoot too. If anyone in the area has a group they shoot with I'd love to meet up sometime, new shooting buddies and everything.
What are the top 3-5 handguns you think everyone should try when they are in the handgun market for the first time? Full-size, Compact, Sub-compact, or Micro-compact you choose.
Practical ones that won’t break the bank but are reliable < $900ish.
I’ve heard:
Edit: Tried a Glock 19 Gen5, it was too big for my hands. I couldn’t reach the slide release or mag release without majorly shifting my grip.
