/r/minimalism_music
A place to share and discuss music from the classical minimalism genre. Specifically, composers of the 60s - current era, such as Philip Glass, Steve Reich, Terry Riley, Wim Mertens, Michael Nyman, etc.
Original compositions are welcome so long as they generally conform to a minimalist style.

i hope that it is okay that i leave this here.
Minimalist, counterpoint music inspired by Steve Reich and Robert Fripp
Recently I’ve been playing minimalist pieces on the piano (Phillip Glass, Howard Skempton) that involve both polyrhythms and overlapping hands.
For this video, I transferred the idea to my modular system, splitting an F minor sixth chord across two sequencer channels, and clocking the channels at different rates (x2, x3). The sequencer (Qu-bit Bloom) generates 64 variations on this pattern, a stage sequencer selects 12 of them, and a multisample player (Disting EX) performs them. Further details in the patch notes.
I'm hoping to tap into the encyclopaedic hive-mind here to track down some music I have a hazy recollection of.
It was the soundtrack to a (kids?) tv show. I think it was about being creative, making music etc. Possibly Japanese. Each series was on a slightly different topic and the soundtrack reflected that.
I never saw the show, but it had a website where you could listen to the soundtracks & buy the cds. (I intended to at the time, but evidently never did) The style of the website and the cd artwork was very clean minimalist. The music was similarly minimalist electronic, with a handmade feel (iirc!).
It popped into my head today out of nowhere. It was probably 5-8 years ago that I discovered it, but the show was possibly from the early 2000s.
I'm aware this is extremely vague, but does it ring any bells for anyone?
...The sounds are perfect for adding that percussive, textural and FX sauce in your tracks, that will create a fire atmosphere in your minimal beats and songs.

Enjoy! I can't wait to hear what you make!
More specifically I'm looking for something alike "Eight Lines" by Steve Reich. I like repetitive minimalism, however I couldn't found anything really that minimalistic alike Steve Reich did. I liked orchestra performance in Eight Lines and would like to hear more of that.
So, if you know any similar (really similar) music, please, let me know. Either I'll have to listen to Eight Lines for my whole life
