I have a question about something not covered in miniswap's FAQ and I'm hoping this is the correct forum. When requesting a swap, what is the recommended procedure? I figured both parties should do a PayPal goods and services transfer for some amount in order to encourage performance of the swap and to provide both parties with some protection if something goes wrong. This seems to be in line with the spirit of the recommended procedure for purchasing items. But when I suggested this to someone who wanted to swap with me, they were not amenable and preferred to just agree to a ship date and then swap tracking details which I was not comfortable with. No hard feelings here, I don't think anyone should do a trade they're not comfortable with, but I'm just wondering if I had the right idea or not and if there is a recommended procedure maybe it could be added to the subs rules/FAQ?
Not sure if this is the place to ask, but I recently went through my closet and started clearing things out to put in eBay. I had around 270 models of various Tomb Kings I just posted to eBay and someone made an offer to buy 60 Tomb Guard for $350. He claims that trying to sell them in groups of 10 (which I currently have them posted as) wouldn't sell as well even though I've already been getting offers on the individual lots.
Years ago I was told to part out the lots rather than try and sell the whole army as it was a large army and could be worth quite a bit.
I have a bunch of old 40k minis from the 90s and early 2000s.
Most notably I have a selection of the old metal harlequin figures from 2nd edition, and the first metal necron models that were released.
I also have painted Tyranids (mostly metal) models from 2nd and early 3rd edition.
I'm on the fence about keeping these, and have been out of the game for a really long time, just held on to the minis and have no idea what they are worth these days.
Any help is appreciated.
I'm interested in a few 40k boxes, but don't want the whole contents of them. I don't have any friends in the hobby to split/share with. Since I won't buy the boxes unless someone splits/shares them with me, I don't have verification photos for an r/MiniSwap post (they would just be on the sprue). Would it violate the rules to post this sort of request? Is there a more appropriate sub? Thanks in advance for any help!
Maybe it’s a recent thing, but I’ve noticed a lot of miniswap posts are only 50-75% upvoted. They all seem properly formatted, with the exception of some people forgetting to double space to make a list, but that still doesn’t seem like something to downvote on. Is there a bunch of sellers that go around dumping on posts to try and keep theirs more visible, or something else weird?
I also have a Kor'sarro Khan that I had assembled before hand and a Jain Zar model that's NoS that I would like to either sell them for money or trade them for some Ork or Nurgle bits.
I bought the beast snagga box and put it together because I like the idea of orks, and have a good scheme that I’d like to do but kinda don’t want to make a full army, and haven’t played them but once as a test game. So I have the full beast snagga box built minus warrsnagga, and a beast boss, with the box and collectors codex.
Also I am looking to see what the new deathmaster, and furance/bell model is wirh from skaven.
I'm looking for advice on how to split this equally. The value between the components (guard, Marines, and terrain/book) varies wildly. How would you price out a split, or just selling off parts afterwards?
Hello all,
I played fantasy and 40K from the mid 90s through about 2007. Very large collection, currently a complete mess that I need to sort box by box (and photograph as I go). I'm in the Toronto area and don't mind breaking it up into a large number of lots. Models are assembled, some unpainted, some poorly painted, a few painted to a solid tabletop standard. We are talking probably a dozen 2000-3000 point armies and a bunch of miscellaneous stuff.
Questions are:
- Is there still a market for OOP fantasy?
- Is there a market for OOP 40K?
- Is it worth trying to sell local in the Toronto area or should I just be resigned to shipping a lot?
- Should I be selling full armies or just units at a time?
Thanks for any help and let me know if more detail (army types and the like?) would be of any use in providing relevant info.
I got into Warhammer AOS/Fantasy a few years ago for a very brief period. Unfortunately, I don't have a lot of time so my miniatures have got to go.
I went with Greenskinz and bought (what I can remember/find):
Fantasy
Night Goblins (Both one new box and a bunch of old ones that I stripped and primed)
Orc Warrior Regiment
Arachnarok Spider
Night Goblin Fanatics
AOS
Greenskinz Start Collecting
Orruk Brutes
All of these are in various states of either being in their sprues, primed and some painted
I'm not in too much of a hurry to sell, so I'd like to get as much money as I can for them.
What's the best course of action? Should I part them out? If so, how do I split them up?
Hello,
I'm needing to clear some space on my bookshelves and realize that I have a lot (probably about 40 or so) of 40K books that I'm unlikely to ever read again, but that some people might want. Predominantly Horus Heresy, but some other ones that could do better elsewhere and can't really take to a charity shop.
Would it be ok to make a google sheet detailing each book (with photo for proof and condition) and asking people to essentially say if they wanted one, then randomise who receives it as necessary (sorting things out via PM afterwards). Additionally cross-posting to r/40kLore and the book lovers there?
Or this is a bit too much and something that wouldn't be ok under the rules?
I'm wondering what the going rate is these days for the guns in the Imperial Knight kit? I've got sprues for all of the carapace weapons as well as all three arm gun options (possibly even the body gun as well, but it's hard to tell), but not sure what people are paying for them these days. Thanks!
I have four identical mortal realms stormcast posters. Not interested in the faction but feels bad to toss them.
Am I able to post a giveaway? I’d cover domestic shipping.
The Dragoons and Ruststalkers were both projects that I received to work on and then a baby squashed those plans. They are all in various states of repair and I cannot guarantee I have the bits for anything that needs to be completed.
I am also unsure of what the two mystery units are (I unfortunately have not touched this army for over two years). I think they're just Vanguard with Plasma I never got around to painting.
I've added the prices that I think are reasonable based off eBay but you never know.
9 Ironstriders/Dragoons - One is missing a base. $25 each ($20 for baseless one)
20 Ruststalkers $25 for 5
1 Belisarius Cawl $35
3 Breachers $35
10 Rangers (Red) - One w/sniper and one w/plasma $32
9 Rangers (Blue) - One w/sniper $30
10 Vanguard (Blue) - One w/sniper and one w/plasma $32
6 Robots $25 each
2 Datasmiths $12
3 Dominus $20 each ($15 for the red one)
2 Dunecrawlers - The Red Dunecrawler has all the guns but they're not glued on. I meant to magnetize but again, baby. $50 each
2 ??? - I believe these are Vanguard with Plasma
Any help would be appreciated.
Friend is trying to sell his grey knight army that he put a ton of work into. Need someone to look at some pics and help me come up with a reasonable asking price for the lot.
Hi. I have a friend looking to sell his Warhammer Fantasy High Elf Army. I'm trying to help him get an idea of the value. Please let me know if you can help.
Thanks!
Hi. I need some help valuing a Clan War army. I know nothing about this game, but the miniatures look quite nice.
Lots of images here: https://imgur.com/gallery/gqAkH5T
Please contact me if you know about this game and can help me out.
Thanks!
The minis I am talking about are described here: https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Star_Wars_Miniatures
I have a HUGE lot of these minis, laminated maps, and a few Box Sets (Endor and Hoth).
I have no clue how much they are worth, although I do have MANY rare figures.
I would like to post them for trade, but I don't even know how to gauge interest.
I hope this is the right place to ask for assistance.
First time, obviously. What’s the code of conduct, when someone pms me with interest in something I’m selling, should I just ask for where to send the paypal request? Ask for an email?
I'm completely new to selling anything online pretty much. I've read the sticky on the main reddit regarding staying safe, but what it doesn't explain is how the payment process is or should be done/initiated, it only explains the differences between paypal payments. I'm aware now of the goods and services payment option, but having never used it, the line 'Domestic Shipping using Paypal will always include free tracking.' is making me confused. Does a tracking number/label get automatically generated when a payment/invoice is made? If so, how does this coincide with the tracking or postage option from my post office? (royal mail in my case in the UK). Or is postage usually entirely done through paypal? Two more things that i'm unsure about - which postage option I should be using (first/second class, tracked, signed for etc). And first and foremost, how is the payment initiated and who buy? As a seller, do I send an invoice to an email? Or do I ask for a payment into my account via 'goods and services'? Sorry If I sound clueless, as I pretty much am to be honest, having never traded through paypal in the past. I'm from the UK for reference, and there are a few items that I need to ship to the states as well as domestically.
Another last thing - an explanation on how I can find an exact quote for shipping would also be appreciated. At the moment the only estimate I can come up with is from looking at the royal mail website and calculating according to weight.
I have had most of these models for years, I saved them from being binned and have no idea what they are for the most part
I have included pictures here - https://imgur.com/a/OF9TOR2
Any information on what these are and there value would be greatly appreciated. Thank you
I found one still in the original packaging and in great condition. what should I do or sell it for?
Thank you in advance for any help you decide to give.
What have folks found to be the best option for shipping a Warhammer Start Collecting box within the United States? Is there an ideal USPS flat rate box for this, or is it cheaper to ship based on weight in a different box.
