Hello everyone. My M18 batteries keep splitting in half. Literally. Anyone have a solution to this? I’m not rough with my batteries, and they still work fine. I have warranty-replaced my XC5.0, and I’m not sure if I’m allowed to replace it again, but it literally lasted me 3 months compared to almost 2 years with my original battery. Thank you
Is there a guide, a how-to, or some instructions? Maybe an encyclopedia thick manual? How are you supposed to open the tamper resistant, theft resistant and tweaker resistant packaging of these batteries?
You end up spending 20 minutes carefully cutting and prying and ripping the packaging apart so you don't accidentally damage the battery or slice your fingers open. Remember the good old days? When you could just peel the packaging open? Or cut along the edges and open it? Nowadays they have plastic spot welds all around so you can't open from the edge. The plastic is glued/ laminated to the cardboard and they purposefully designed this to be as difficult as possible to open the case.
I love Milwaukee tools and their products but I'm about to blow my brains out trying to open the packaging for these battery packs...
Can this work on any m12 heated jacket. I have one from last year and is wondering if i have to buy a new one.
I have this M18 XC 5.0 battery that drains very fast. How do I figure out the manufacture date? Assuming warranty is expired, how do I know whether the cells are out of balance and what is the easiest way to rebalance?
When I set it on a charger and it is charging, the charge level indicator light jumps to three bars even when it was supposedly fully discharged. And after a short time shows as fully charged. EDIT: Photos in comments. I am in the USA>
Not even a month old. Randomly the gun starts flashing like a Christmas tree when my batteries are fully charged. Anyone else have this problem?
I started having issues with this last year and I replaced the switch and it seemed to fix the issue for a while. But it started having issues again. So I took it apart and Decided to try and install my own switch.Rather than replace it again and run into the same issue a few months down the road.
I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong with the wiring. But I can get it to work sometimes and other times nothing. Last I had at working I soldered The two larger wires together with the diode and soldered the switch to the two smaller ones. Anything I should do different?
I will be moving in the next few months and sending all of my tools and packout equipment with movers. I can fit most of the tools in the packout gear, but I'm wondering how everyone else locks them up and securely and also tracks them in case they are stolen.
Edit for additional question: Does anyone use bicycle cable lock things to keep the packouts closed and in one unit?
Recently got the 10 in compact packout and dont know how to organize and put in there lol
I already own the M12 fuel hackzall but I need something with a little more power.
Is it worth upgrading to M18 Fuel? Or just get a sawzall?
I just got this brand new 15 gauge Milwaukee nail gun that's supposed to be able to shoot 15g nails that are up to 2.5" in length, but the magazine/nail holder won't accept them, and appears as though it can only take a max of 1.25" nails.. WTF am I doing wrong? Did Milwaukee put the wrong size magazine on this?
Sticker/Label says: Fastener length: Min 1.25” - Max 2.5” Model: 2839-20 UPC: 045242591923
Any ideas??
Strangely enough, I can START to load them from the top, but as soon as it gets down to the plastic part of the magazine, it won't go any further!
Update: It works just fine with 2” or shorter nails. But 2.5” nails won’t fit. I measured the opening and it’s literally 2.25” and I just went to Home Depot and bought a second one: same exact problem. I have the 16 Gauge nail gun and the opening on that one is larger and fits 2.5” nails just fine. Holding them next to each other I can visibly see the 15g magazine is 1/4” shorter than the 16g. WTF is going on here?? Both the box and the label on the 15g mail guns say they accept up to 2.5” nails, but the magazines are too small!
I unboxed my new M18 2-bay rapid charger about an hour ago, and I put my two 5AH batteries on to charge. I've been hearing some worrying noises from the charger, specifically the sound of electrical shorting/arcing. Is this expected behaviour, or should I be running back to HD to swap it out?
I expected to hear the noise of fans and such, but the noise of electrical arcing filling my office is unsettling. There's no indication of any problem form the LEDs on the charger, and the batteries seem to be charging okay. Any pointers?
Bought the two XC 5.0 batteries with charger. Got a free jig saw yea.
Both batteries are blinking red green bad. Tried the new charger and another fast charger. Anyone else having a problem..
What’s up with homedepot. I ordered m18 pole saw with free 8.0battery. Free delivery. Then I went to Buy forge 12.0 with free 8.0 battery. It wants $35 delivery fee for just the 12.0 battery. Why delivery fee on just one small item but none on the bigger item?
I had my m18 tire inflator replaced due to the old one being faulty which is cool as I was expecting them to fix it and send it back. However the new one out of the box came with this lettering scribbled into the side of it. Any idea why? Is that the warranty replacement number? The paper in the box just said “goodwill replacement”
I ordered a Small Black tool-only heated jacket (M100B-20S) from Home Depot. I received a Medium Grey jacket KIT (m102G-21m) The medium is definitely bigger on me but not huge, and I clearly like the idea of a free kit......is there any way I can swap the medium for a small without fessing up about their screwup?
Hi there, DIY homeowner here with experience with some Makita tools (and no complaints about them).
Can anyone comment on this 9 piece kit for $600, in terms of durability and value? Is this really 50% off the typically street value, or are the savings exaggerated? I'm asking because I don't know Milwaukee at all and I wasn't sure if there is a catch or not.
I am still fairly new to Milwaukee and I'm curious to see what your set up looks like. Wanting to buy more but need ideas
Has anyone tried using the Packout 38” Rolling Tool Chest as checked baggage for airlines?
I’m military traveling to our next duty station so not too worried about weight limit. Just interested for the ease+space of carrying.
Ordered this multitool set and there was a tonne in stock when i did. Order was being shipped to the store and now they’ve cancelled it but are still trying to charge me for the “free” battery? No option to cancel the battery Do I really have to go into to the store to resolve this?
looking to get into the platform and wondered how fast i need to act to get the deal.
Hi everyone!
Recently, I joined a Facebook Group, called: "European suppliers & webshops"
I just had the "opportunity" to talk with someone from this Facebook group, who claims to sell Milwaukee Tools Pallets, with a vast range of tools, including:
All this, for 599 Euro / Pallet.
Cheap Tools , scam or no scam? Too good to be true?
EDIT: I added some photos, that seller sent.
I’ve been looking at upgrading to a better dust collection system for work. I’ve used the festool dust extraction and absolutely love it but I run a Milwaukee battery platform and to be honest love seeing the red tool collection grow, But I do want a quality tool that’s not going to clog and be a pile of junk after a couple months. Any recommendations on a quality dust collection would be appreciated and feed back on this specific model!
