I just found the the anti-climax of the last sentence funny.

"Ah yes... his greatest accomplishment..."

Google Street View perfectly doubled the McDonalds Logo

I am still not even sure how but the splicing on street view's 360 camera has perfectly made a double M without any seams. Location is 400 Thermal Explorer Highway Huntly, New Zealand. It only happens in one spot then goes back to normal.

An ad in a Turkish restaurant promoting their rice pilaf.

Pilaf is ''pilav'' in Turkish. The name of the restaurant is ''Yeni Nesil Pilavcı'' meaning new generation pilaf restaurant.

My latte art could use a little work. This was supposed to be a heart.

Dog has great taste in music

We learned two things:

  1. I’m training lil bro quite well.
  2. Kendrick speaks to everything.

Guy holding 2 small bottles of hand sanitizer in each hand.

Sorry if the phone is a little blurry, I was walking backwards with pizza in my hand. I was able to get Domino's tonight and on the way there I walk past the guy holding a bottle of hand sanitizer just standing at the corner. He asked me if I wanted some hand sanitizer when I walk by, no I told him, and he said that he doesn't want COVID and he didn't get the vaccines. I just shrugged and moved on and continued my walk to Domino's.

About 20 minutes later I walk back and the same dude is standing there now with two bottles of hand sanitizer in his hand, I'm guessing he's on something or waiting for something but it was just super amusing to see. When I walk past him I ask them has to him still being there, and he proceeds to say, "yeah it's going to take a while." I have no idea what he means, I just smiled at him a walked away but turned around to get a picture of him.

My wife insists that we use organic, non-chemical, GMO-free, whatever is correct type of dishwasher detergent. I just finished the bag she most recently bought.

Skipped a massive queue because the boomer staff didn't seem to know about the QR code menus.

Over the Christmas break a group of 8 of us (two families) went for lunch at a hotel/bistro place. Massive place, it had room for hundreds of customers inside and outside. We had booked in advance.

When we got there, the staff were all quite harried and seemed a little overwhelmed at the numbers. I noticed that all the FoH staff were aged between 60 and 70. We got seated, given hard copy menus, and they directed us to the queue to order food at the counter. The queue was out the door - easily 50 people long, with an apology that there would be a substantial wait for food.

Upon seeing the queue I remarked to my friend that this would be one time where I wouldn't mind ordering via a QR menu. Then lo and behold, there was a QR code on the table number (although not on the paper menus). Perhaps it wasn't working due to the holidays? Figuring I may as well give it a shot, I scanned the QR code on the way up to join the back of the line.

Long story short, the QR code worked, I got to place and pay for our order on the phone long before I reached the front of the queue. In fact, our starters were on the table by the time I made it back to the table after grabbing a drink at the bar!

I'm guessing here, but if staff were directing people to line up, that's probably just what most people did without question. The BoH doubtless had my order come up on their screens and just did it next, saving me a long wait. Which I found mildly amusing.

I just bought a used car. I'm a huge Star Trek fan. While washing the window I discovered which sci-fi franchise the previous owner preferred.

Little Caesar’s tip earned me a compliment

I don’t usually tip at a place like Little Caesar’s but the worker seemed earnest about trying to explain the lunch special (showed me his register screen when he couldn’t find the words) and I used to work at Dunkin and the tips really helped so I clicked the lowest suggested tip, 15% -so like $2- and when he noticed that I added that he said something like ‘and may I just say, I really like your coat’. And it was funny to me that he felt compelled to compliment my boring puffer jacket.
