I recently purchased a MiBox with model MiTV-AFKR0 for my niece. I initially set up the box using Google Home, but she keeps complaining that there’s no audio output. I need to access Google Home on my phone and increase the volume from there. Could you please help me figure out why this is happening and how to resolve it?

Good morning, guys! I bought a second generation Mi Box S 4K and I'm trying to install applications that are from outside the Play Store.

I am unable to install a specific application because the system reports that it is malware or spam, but I already use it on other devices, I know it is trustworthy.

How can I install this application on Mi Box? Anybody know?

Hello everyone, so Im trying to set some routines with my google assisstant on my phone, like when I say "I'm home", I want to do several actions one of them is turning the TV on, this is doesnt seem to work at all, for other commands like turning TV off when I ask for that or changing the volume or openning an app ... etc its working fine, just for the turn on command it doesnt work, it seems like the mi tv box 2nd gen doesnt stay in standby mode and it shuts down totally, any idea how can I fix this please.

I´ve been thinking about a Mi Box 2nd gen for my first attempt at streaming box/device and I´ve been a bit confused about Google TV and Android TV. What I kinda found out by my research is that there is:

• Android TV

• Google TV but its running on Android TV (11 on the mi box 2nd gen).

• Google TV running on Chrome OS

Are there noticeable difference between those? What about side loading functionalities between those devices? For the mi box 2nd gen: Is Google TV just an alternative "OS"/"Launcher" or the only one?

I bought a mibox 4k and tried on mu qled samsung tv without any issue. But once I connected it to my Samsung monitor Viewfinity S5, cannot see further than 1080p. I have tried below options;

• Changed hdmi cable
• Tried same hdmi with pc. Pc can show 4K
• Tried same hdmi cable with Macbook. No issue on 4K.
• Unplugged from monitor and plugged to Qled tv. Set resolution to 4K manually then plugged to monitor again does not worked.

Any idea?

I feel like same video of same app on the tizen of my samsung tv vs same app in the google tv of the mi tv box s 2nd gen looks yellowish on the mi box...

Also, the default of the mi box is 1080p 60 hz, and if i switch it to 4k 60hz, then the color config cant use 10 bit colors, only 8bit. Could that have something to do with the yellowish colours? Or maybe should I change the colour format from default YCbCr 4:4:4 10-bit to RGB 10-bit???

Im having trouble connecting the box to the app google home. The device shows in the app, but when its connecting it shows a message on the tv saying its connect but on the its loading until it crashes or closing it. Anybody knows how to fix this?

Is anyone else having WiFi issues with the mi box s model with the current android version?

Watching Disney+ is continuously stopping the movie, and my daughter is furious...

The router is at less that 10m distance, with decent coverage. From my phone I get at same distance 150 Mb. I tested both 2.5 and 5 GHz.

I did the following:

• restart the router, did not do much.
• from my computer (ethernet connected) I get more than 500 Mb, so definitely not a provider problem
• restart the mi box. This seemed like at least improved the situation.

But this problem happens regularly. Did anyone else experience this? Is it simply the fact that the device is a bit old and it's showing its natural aging?

Im guessing due to HDMI cec, the volume ui has changed to the tv ui. Is it possible to the volume ui back the factory or will I have to disable HDMI cec for that? When I first started the mi box, the volume ui was on the right side of the tv and jt was white colored. After doing all the settings, the volume ui is the default tvs ui. Is there any fix?

I've tried the SkyShowTime app on MiBox to watch some series (Halo) and maybe movies. I've checked a few of them and I'm not able to have DD 5.1 sound on my receiver. On SkyShowTime.com they claim that DD 5.1 is available for the selected material. Using Netflix or PrimeVideo I have no issues receiving 5.1. And questions:

- does anyone know if SkyShowTime provides DD or maybe DD+ (my receiver is not able to handle DD+)?

- if it is DD, do you have an idea how to force this setup to have DD 5.1?

Is there any workaround for this? I have already contacted Microsoft and they point to incompatibility with the box.

My uncle gave me his mi box s (1st gen) but he couldn't find the power adapter. I bought one from a local market and this one lights up but the mi box doesn't seem to turn on. I checked the wattage and it's right. Any tips on what I should do?

Here's my situation. I'm a total noob when it comes to this stuff, other than what I've learned reading and watching YouTube videos for the past couple of days. I want an Android TV/Google TV box that will allow me to do what I want without any restrictions. Blocking YouTube ads is my main concern, but I also want to be able to play large 4K files directly from an SSD or flash drive, and I'm really intrigued by the possibility of IPTV sports channels.

The Onn 4K box used to allow NTFS, but I found out yesterday after purchasing one, that the latest version only reads FAT32. I still haven't opened the box and I'm tempted to buy the slightly more powerful 2nd Gen Box S, after seeing it mentioned on Reddit as being able to play NTFS files. However, reviews on Amazon say things like "Does not recognize/read my exFAT/NTFS USB drive," "Locked down, will not let you install normal android apps," This box only offers very small limited selection of apps in google play and no brawser. [sic]," among various negative comments, including multiple people saying how laggy it is. It sounds like an incredibly buggy POS, despite the impressive looking website mentioning all the things other boxes don't do, other than NVidia's Shield.

Is this thing worth buying, or should I stick with the $20 Onn, until things get fixed or something better comes around?

i've got the latest Xiaomi TV box (gen 2) with Android 11, and everything seems to work fine, except for 3 technical issues i cannot seems to get rid of (i've "factory reset" the device twice)

1. Some menu feels bugged. Sometimes options in the sub-menus take a lot of time or fails to load (right now the "Keyboard-Gboard settings" just loaded for 30 seconds before showing the sub-options list), and other times, they shows the wrong info (if i switch from 60 to 50 hz in the "Display-Resolution" menu, the menu may still show "60hz" for a while)
2. after some time, videos may suddenly start "stuttering" or "dropping frames" as if it's going from 60 to 24 fps (even tho i set a fixed resolution before). This only happened two or three times in a month, but it was weird since it happened with both web browser videos and video files (from a pen drive). Last time i was using Mx player, and switching between Hardware (Hw and Hw+) and software (SW) fixed the problem for a while. The same problem, on the same video, came back after 10/15 minutes, and switching again back and forth seemed to solve the problem once and for all. This obviously cannot be done on a web browser video, so i don't know if there's a general solution here...
3. there are a some video website that have no tv app, so i cast them to the mibox 2nd gen. This works 99% of the time, but for some reason there are some videos that straight up refuse to work. I cast the video (from phone or tablet), the video start, work for one second, freeze, load, start for another second, freeze, load and repeat. The weird thing is, this same video can be casted with NO PROBLEM on an old MIBOX3 (android 9) and even on an old SONY BRAVIA (2015), but not on the newer device... and it's not a connection issue, since i tried them in the same spot and on the same wireless connection

Is there a solution or a quick fix for those problems?

I am using Mi Box S and its working all fine. Should I upgrade to 2nd gen and can I connect 2 Bluetooth headphones at the same time to the 2nd gen Mi Box?

I've had such a litany of problems with this thing over about a year. Crashes, bugs, black screens, not seeing USB sticks etc etc etc. Is there a reliable alternative? My main use is for running an FTP on it and sending movies from my pc to a USB that I have stuck in it. That's all I want. A simple and reliable way to upload movies to my tv

I bought a Mi box tv 2s and for the internet conection i use usb with a plug ethernet-usb

But everytime i turn it on it display "no ethernet connection" i need to reboot the box every time and the problem is solve .. but very disturbing it's like the box doesn't detect well the ethernet in usb or smth line that ..

Someone with the same issue?
