Hey all - just wondering what cell service ppl have had ok reception using, and if there are any in particular to super avoid. Thanks so much!
I'm in unincorporated Mendo on the coast. I've been working on a treehouse for my kids and it's almoat done after weeks of work. My elderly neighbor just came over and chewed me out saying it's ugly and mars his view and I should have talked to the neighbors before doing something like this. It's near the property line but firmly on my side. I offered to paint it any color he likes but He wants me to tear the whole thing down and relocate it.
Am I the asshole?
I don't quite know what to do. He's mostly been a good neighbor and I want to be a good neighbor in return... but this is a lot to ask. I don't want to burn the relationship. What does local etiquette demand?
Hi everyone! I will be going to Mendocino next month for my birthday weekend. (About 4 days). I would like suggestions on best wineries, restaurants, activities, and hiking trails. We will be staying in Mendocino so anything close to it would be great.
Hi everyone! I’m taking a trip down to Manchester, but so far I can’t seem to find much to do in the area. We usually go to Fort Bragg but decided to try something new.
Anything you’d suggest doing in the area? Any recommended beaches, hikes, food etc? Thanks!!!
I tried getting to the Georgia Pacific Haul Road Bridge but all entry points seem closed and I don't want to walk thru private property.
Anyone know how to access the bridge and or other cool spots to check out?
Surprising my boyfriend with a little weekend trip down there and a skunk train ride to the Glen Blair bar. Wondering if it’s better to stay at the motel 6 that’s walking distance from the skunk train, or at Andiron cabins in Little River that’s a 20 minute drive to the train.
We arrive pretty late the first night so arriving to a cabin that’s somewhat social (has a happy hour for guests) would be ideal, but it’s twice as much money. Otherwise we’d arrive around 8:30 pm to a motel 6 with the dog, and if theres not much night life in Fort Bragg we’ll probably just stay in our room for the night. But the main point of the trip is Fort Bragg activities and the train ride.
He’s going to be happy with whatever I choose because he hasn’t ever been surprised with something like this. But I’m wondering if saving money with the motel 6 is worth it at all.
Any recommendations are appreciated 😊 hoping with the overcast it’ll be a bit more of a “slow season” too.
I was told that there’s a new ordinance in Fort Bragg that open carry of fixed blade knives isn’t allowed. Is there any truth to this? And if so could you tell me the number (or whatever it’s called) for the ordinance?
If you live in willits, will you please tell me what it’s like living there?
Went to Humboldt for school and love the coast but wouldn't mind a quieter life. Is there an artistic community in Fort Bragg? In your experience, are locals generally friendly? I know Fort Bragg is small and quiet. I really miss the coast.
Just wanted to throw this out here if anyone has a pig infestation and wanted someone to dispatch some.
Hi! Long story short, we drove to Mendocino yesterday with our almost 3 years old and 7 month old girls, only to arrive at our Airbnb and realize my husband booked it for NEXT weekend 🤯🤪 we scrambled and are staying at a lovely resort for the night, and plan to move into a new Airbnb on Friday. We’re considering staying in Mendocino all of next week now, since our original place is now non-refundable, but my husband and I work remotely so would need help with the girls during the day, at least from 9am-1pm.
Does anyone have any babysitter recommendations? Can you please DM me?
What about Port Noyo as a new name for Fort Bragg?
Port Noyo is descriptive of the location, while only being 1 letter less from the original name.
Just an idea
I'm a long time jiu jitsu practitioner and looking for a new place to train regularly in Fort Bragg/Mendocino. I don't think there are any gyms in the immediate area- anybody around here roll?
Today (10/23) we were driving back south on 101 from Eureka to Sacramento. We got stopped and found out the highway was closed due to a bad accident close to Riverdale. People headed north who had turned around told us as they passed that the eta to reopen was 4-5 hours because it was so bad. We were told a life flight helicopter was brought in as well. We decided to wait it out because there wasn’t really any other good options to go. After about 90 minutes we were told things had changed and we would be able to pass because Cal Trans and the CHP were working in switching back and forth in allowing traffic by in small groups. I’m hoping whoever was involved will be okay, but it looked so bad. It was a black vehicle. Maybe a SUV? Like I said just hoping for the best for them and that they will be okay without any long term issues.
Hey guys, is there any dispersed camping off of highway 20 leading into Mendocino? I can’t find anything online and was wondering if anyone here could help me out. Any help would be appreciated!
Basically looking for a place to salvage redwood inland or on the Coast in Mendocino county? I've done it further north, but trying to find a spot further south.
Im going to be staying in fort bragg for a night and was wondering if there were any free things/ attractions I should see (besides the beautiful hikes ofc)
I've lived in California all my life and been to the coast up and down the state from Crescent City to Imperial Beach. Yesterday was my first time to Mendocino and Ft. Bragg and I didn't see a single seagull. What special magic do you have to get rid of these things? Is it the giant ravens that scare them off?
Looking to head up the coast this weekend, and there are no campsites available in the park itself. Can I sleep in my vehicle overnight in the beach parking lot?
Where do people go for dental with partnership health plan? Having a hard time finding anywhere in Mendocino county. Anywhere out of county that people know accept partnership?
How is it? I remember driving from Jenner to Gualala and was terrified because PCH along that path has no rails and is just a steep cliff dive if you mess up. I could have been traumatized because my cousin was driving in his old tacoma so that added to the crazy. Love to hear your thoughts. thank yoU!
