Dear Memeperial Citizens, A short time ago, in a corner of Europe not far away, EU Copyright articles 11 and 13 were approved by the European Parliament.

This law essentially prevents the creation of memes and user-created content as they are claimed to break copyright laws. Article 13 could put the creative economy of creators and artists as we know it at risk. This laws only targets EU countries, but all internet companies that are based in the EU will be affected. If left unchecked, it will send shockwaves all over the internet. This law is not only a serious threat to meme subreddits here, but the effects of meme culture and free artist creativity everywhere on the internet.

What can you do to help? These laws have until January to go into full effect. These last few months are our last chances to protest! And protest we shall!

We have forged an alliance with r/United_Meme_Nations to help stand against this great threat, All petty grievances between subs in the aftermath of the Great Meme War must stand aside, for me must unite and stand firm together to help prevent this act of tyranny! We have before us an ordeal of the most grievous kind. We have before us many, many long months of struggle and of suffering. You ask, what is our policy? I can say: It is to wage protests, by meme, post and blog, with all our might and with all the strength that God can give us; to wage war against a monstrous tyranny, never surpassed in the dark, lamentable catalogue of internet crime. That is our policy. You ask, what is our aim? I can answer in one word: It is victory, victory at all costs, victory in spite of all terror and fear of being banned, victory, however long and hard the road may be; for without victory, there is no survival for memes.

Let that be realized; no survival for the Memepire, no survival for all that the Memepire has stood for, no survival for the urge and impulse of the ages, that internetkind will move forward towards its goal. But I take up my task with buoyancy and hope. I feel sure that our cause will not be suffered to fail among memers. At this time I feel entitled to claim the aid of all, and I say, “come then, let us go forward together with our united strength. I have, myself, full confidence that if all do their duty, if nothing is neglected, and if the best arrangements are made, as they are being made, we shall prove ourselves once again able to defend our Memeperial home, to ride out the storm of meme suppression, and to outlive the menace of tyranny, if necessary for years, if necessary alone. At any rate, that is what we are going to try to do. That is the resolve of the Chancellor's Government-every man of them. That is the will of the Senate and the nation.

The Memepire and the United Meme Nations, linked together in their cause and in their need, will defend to the death their native soil, aiding each other like good comrades to the utmost of their strength. Even though large tracts of Europe and many old and famous sites have fallen or may fall into the grip of the EU and all the odious apparatus of oppressive rule, we shall not flag or fail.

We shall go on to the end,
we shall fight in the EU, we shall fight on the subs and reddits,
we shall fight with growing confidence and growing strength on Twitter, we shall defend our memes, whatever the cost may be,
we shall fight on Facebook,
we shall fight on the shitposting grounds, we shall fight in Imgur and on iFunny, we shall fight on 4chan;
we shall never surrender, and even if, which I do not for a moment believe, this subreddit or a large part of it were subjugated and banned from creating OC, then our Empire beyond the seas, armed and guarded by the Memetrooper Corps, would carry on the struggle, until, in God’s good time, the New World, with all its power and might, steps forth to the rescue and the liberation of the old!
