I have an interview tomorrow, on the website it says just go to the store. Do I go to the register and tell them I have an interview? Do I ask for a manager first? please help
Hi, I’m looking to become crew trainer in the future to work my way up. How does it work? Do you ask for it? How long do I wait? Am I told I’m able to get it?
Many thanks :)
I went in for an interview on the 6th Nov that went well and was promptly informed that I’d be progressing with the hiring process. About 5 days later I got an email to submit my police check which took 2 weeks to go through. They set me up an account with the Workplace app and whatnot, however I’ve still not heard any word about orientation? I contacted the shift manager last Wednesday asking when to expect to hear about orientation and they said “soon, hopefully”, a week later still nothing. Does it usually take this long/longer? Is this a case where I need to start pushing for the continuation of the process or should I just… keep waiting?
I had my interview about a week ago right before thanks giving. Got told they was going to hire me as matience.. however since the interview I haven't heard anything and when I talked to the gm she didn't tell me much other than it's in HR hands.. so I guess long story short is is this normal?
My manager asked me to stay longer today at McDonald's it was my first day back after being out sick for a few day's with a virus that's going around here in NC, I had a Dr note for those days. So 30 min before my shift ended she told me I had to stay later because they were short on help. I told her I could not because I already scheduled at dr appointment and wouldn't be able to reschedule this time because I already did the past 2 times. She told me to have have a dr note when I go in tomorrow and its confusing me to no end. Can they reprimand me for not being excused even when I wasn't scheduled to work. I really feel like this is retaliatory because it was Thanksgiving and she had to cover my shift the 2 days I was ill. Up until today I almost ALWAYS stayed or came in times I wasn't scheduled to help them out when short staffed. I don't have any unexcused absences and have never been late. This is my first time in fast food, actually my first time being a paid employee. I did property management my whole life and only ever was a 1099. A family issue required me to relocate from PA and I am stuck until I get my NC drivers license here so I can get a car on the road. Is this actually allowed 😳
ive been scheduled for window 1 of the drive thru later today, ive been in window 1 before but only took 1 very basic order and otherwise just did payments with someone else taking orders. im slightly concerned because i am partially deaf (something i havent declared to them at all because it rarely has any impact on my life) and when i was wearing a headset to listen along to my colleague taking orders, i was really struggling to comprehend what the customers were saying at all. i think i would be able to just about manage window 1 if i absolutely had to, but i feel like im poorly suited for it and i would be better in other roles.
im wondering if i should talk to my manager about this or just suck it up and the job. like i said, i dont think im completely incapable of doing it, but i feel more comfortable and efficient doing just about anything else.
Got hired and completed the onboarding forms along with my right to work check, the restaurant I’ll be working at is opening on the 16th and during my interview my manager let me know training would take place before then at different restaurants. Anyone have any idea when this would be? I have been checking my roster daily just in case
So I started working at McDonald’s on November 21st and on my second shift (first shift being on the floor) I was given 2 starts H & C and was just wondering if anyone could clear up what they mean and how I was given them on my second shift as a friend of mine who has been working there since February had to wait 5-6 months before getting her first stars.
I’ve been working at McD’s for almost two years now, become manager in the first two six months. Recently I got offered position of GM in another area. I wasn’t thinking and just immediately said yeah why not but now I’m really regretting it. Not only do I miss my old coworkers, but I’m not that good at bossing around, the location is a bit farther from where I live, and I feel like it’ll be too stressful and time consuming. I mention the final part cause there’s things I wish to do but feel like being GM would greatly hinder me from doing so. Thing is, I barely have a week in and the uniform came in so I feel bad and don’t know how to break it to them. I need help lol
Hii,
Ive been working at McDonalds for a few months in the kitchen. The thing I'm best at is grills, so the kitchen manager has just been keeping me on there pretty much since I started.
I only work a few shifts a week but they're usually 8 hours long and the backpain i get after a shift is awful, Ive been able to manage it with ibuprofen and tiger balm but recently its just been getting worse and worse. I dont experience backpain in any other situations and I havent in any other job before so I'm not really sure what to do.
Got hired on the 30th of October, as of tmr it'll be December and i still haven't heard any news on orientation or anything. Every time I try contact or ask the hiring manager is never in and they say give it a week just for no news next week. I could be spending this time looking for a job again or working so I just wanna know if anyone else's experience was like this?
I did it lads. I resigned. Swedish labor laws mean that it's a 4 weeks notice, and at this point I have 16 shifts left until freedom. My very last shift will be new years' eve. It's gonna rock. Leaving with the old year 🫡
can someone please tell me the different sauce colours for all the complex burgers?? I can’t remember ones like grilled chicken deluxe and Angus bbq. thank u!!!
hello!
i was recently hired on about monday 25th nov, the same day i did my interview. i already did my right to work and police check and i was wondering when i get access to the roster and uniform? i legit forgot what the manager said but i remember her saying that she was gonna roster the people already working there when i did my interview but she was gonna put me on the next one? what is the general time frame for this because im so lost LOL
hi, ive been working at maccas for like 3 months now and I only work in kitchen. i like kitchen because I’m very shy and this means I don’t have to interact with customers, however I’m often the only girl working. guys in the kitchen can actually be so mean, they whisper and point at me, complain about new people ‘not being able to do their job’, make an effort to ignore me and just generally make weird sexist remarks. has anyone else experienced this?? I’m considering learning FC but I’m extremely anxious and shy and idk whether pushing myself that far is a good idea when I’m already nervous to go to work.
Hi everyone,
This is my first week of working. On the second and third day, my manager put me on the cash register. I'm very slow with counting money (especially in an environment where I'm supposed to be fast with handling it). And I was very confused with operating the register because of the kiosks and deals/promos.
Throughout my shift, I kept on making mistakes for the customers orders. For example, accidentally charging a customer something, or adding something extra on the register. I had to call my manager multiple times to authorize voids/refunds.
Of course, with it being fast food restaurant, I did have a few customers complain and talk to me rudely. Which is understandable. But all around, the entire shift was horrible and I feel really bad. My manager and coworkers were understanding and patient, but I just cant help but feel bad (and a burden to the crew) because I always panic and get nervous when working the register.
Does anyone have any tips for how to get over this nervousness? I think it's just the anxious feeling that I'm being too slow with handing the money and taking their order, thus causing a line and a wait that was unnecessary. I also just don't have a grasp on how to handle the register yet, as I start my shift in the morning and finish in the late afternoon, which means i'm handling breakfast (Which I get confused the most on, because of how many variations of sandwiches/meals there are. Ex: Sausage and Egg biscuit, Sausage and Egg Mcgriddle, Sausage biscuit, etc...)
I will be having two exam from 5th -12th Dec the dates will be released tomorrow but I always open 24/7 availability so I forget to change the 6th and 7th (next Thursday and Friday )to unavailable in case it clash with my exam, the shift are to be released every Friday, (so tomorrow),it is now locked in the my job website for next week.is it too late to change the availability for these two days or maybe I should ask my manager today when I go to work?🤔🤔🤔 I am in Australia, Melbourne if that helps
I really shouldn’t be surprised. I ordered a McChicken using a freebie offer the app gave me. I added cheese and bacon, because I saw it as an option. I obviously paid the difference for my add-ons. I actually ordered four of them and they were pretty good.
A month later, I saw an ad for the same thing I did. Not trying to take credit for something I didn’t really put much thought into. It was an impulse buy. One I’m definitely planning on getting again.
My theory is, McD pays attention to their coupon users. So if anyone has any ideas for menu tweaks, order them through a coupon or offer. Just don’t be surprised if it gets popular. Just don’t be surprised if you see your favorite sandwich mod on the side of a bus one day.
This randomly showed up on the truck. Says it's for grease and carbon removal. Read the directions and it talks about a heat tank which I have no clue what that is.
So I just dumped this with very hot water in the sink and let the hood vents from above the grill and fryers soak in it.
This fucking stuff works better than degreaser.
I'd highly recommend seeing if you can convince your kitchen manager to order this on the truck.
So look. I liked working at McDs and was on my way up in ranks, was looking at KDM. Life happened I had to move. Can I apply in this new city for DM or I have to start as crew? I’ve got serv safe Cert. also seen u can take test for supervisor cert online to. Would that help?🤔
I was hired two weeks ago on a full-time flexible contract. I had my welcome meeting last week, and yesterday I finally got my schedule—and I’m pretty annoyed. McDonald’s defines full-time as 21 to 40 hours a week, but this week I’m only scheduled for 6 hours, and next week it’s just 13. Is this normal? Or is this only for the first few weeks? I really need a full-time job, and these low hours just aren’t going to cut it.
Bit of context, In window 1 , the guy baring in mind i don’t speak to , I only was speaking to him for the fact it weren’t a silence war in window one and awkward. The guy ( my colleague) thought he was funny and kicked me 3 times, the last two times they actually hurt and I did not even hint to him that I thought it was a joke. What shall I do?
So Wednesday I was finally asked the question by my GM: "Are you interested in becoming a manager?". This is an opportunity I've been waiting for for quite some time now. I've been a crew trainer for almost 2 years, and have expressed a desire to climb the ladder before, but have never been asked directly by the GM. Apparently, the GM and our hiring manager have been pushing for me for some months now, but the only thing that's held me back are some customer complaints I've received.
So my GM and I made a deal - if I can improve my customer service and receive no complaints in the next month, she will push for me and try to convince our Area Supervisor to reconsider me and give me another chance, with my training beginning at the start of the new year (2025). I'll admit I'm not perfect and sometimes let my emotions get the better of me, and this has held me back. Thankfully my GM said this is the only thing I need to work on - everything else about my performance is going very well and they clearly see potential in me. They want me to help manage overnight shifts - I've wanted to work overnights for some time now and they clearly need more help at night.
I know I can do this, I'm ready to continue climbing the ranks. I already help out my managers a lot, sometimes being left by myself, so I already know half of the responsibilities and know what I'm capable of. I've basically been doing the job without the title. I just need to show to them that I can change and be better at handling customer interactions.
this is my first job which also means this is my first time quitting one. can someone explain how the quitting process works? what is a 2 weeks notice and how do i tell them?
Heard my store isn't getting them. :(
I miss Ronald and the gang. They made my childhood better, and Ronald should never have been fired in 2016 because of a few rogue clowns. Every year, when he's in the parade on New Year's, it's a personal highlight. Thank you for the memories, Ronald, and thank you to your gang too!
20, with no job experience, looking to start getting experience before it's too late, so I applied to a McDonald's nearby. Eventually got an email reminding me of the interview date I had picked during the application process, but on that day they cancelled it.
Got an email saying "Your interview was cancelled. Please reach out to your recruiter for additional details." but I applied through the McDonald's website, I called the restaurant but they were not picking up, what do I do?
I can't even apply to other McDonald's locations because of this, the ai won't let me until this issue is solved
