I need some options on something I don't agree with.
hi, in order to become a crew coach , we need to email our RM on what interests us to become crew coach . WHAT DO I WRITE . HELP ME OUT
I have my first proper shift after my orientation tomorrow, and saw I was rostered onto SA: Service Advanced? Anyone know what this is or what to expect?
I'm tryig to apply online for a mcds in my area but it won't let me continue because it says my postal code is invalid??? I tried three others that are close to me but they all claim in invalid? I'm really confused and annoyed as this has been going on for two days I tried writing it in different ways and allat bs someone please help me 😭🙏
I'm starting my first shift next week. My second shift is PWU (Production Wash Up) at night. Could you please provide me with details on what to expect during this shift, e.g. What things I may need to clean? Will I receive training on the wash up for the first time, or will I just be handed the tools to get on with it? I'm asking because my first shift indicates "Trainee," but this shift only says PWU.
Hi All,
I have just turned 18 and have been strongly encouraged to sign a contract converting me from casual to part time. The means I will lose my 25% loading, but will accrue Annual Leave (approx 7.7%).
This seems a little dodgy, even like a form a bullying. I have been a great employee for four years and they are effectively suggesting that if I want to get hours, then I will need to take a 17.3% pay cut.
I have a friend another McOpco store in Brisbane where the same thing has happened.
Is this common practice?
Thanks
I filled up a direct deposit form and I put I (my name) authorize (. ) i put McDonald’s but some other say I should’ve put the owner company name I ask the manager and she said she dint knew and was gonna ask the person who deals with the money
So I wanted to work part time hours and was offered a casual position which I accepted. I also got offered a part time position a week later and I accepted that too. So should I let go of the causal job or work at both locations. And am I supposed to inform the managers of both Stores that I’m working a second job?
My son went to orientation yesterday and part of that was setting up the Workplace app we are having problems setting up it keeps sending activation code to an incorrect email address how do I fix or change the email address where code sent. Cannot check roster until fixed and none have him a number to call etc seems to be all online
Hey guys, been on a massive badge hunt, collecting whatever I can whereever I can.
My latest batch came with these badges that say "250 Club", "300 Club", etc, etc.
Does anyone have any info or theories on what these would be awarded for?
Cheers. 😁🫡
When your parking lot floods so bad google maps names it to mc Donald’s lake 🤣🤣
So tomorrow is my first day I have a few questions. 1 what am I supposed to wear 2 what am I to expect Thanks
Context of the person: This guy mainly only does the dishes and works 3 hours a day, 4 days a week. He’s one of those old men that talks a lot and sings loud while working and he usually doesn’t argue with the managers. But from last Thursday-Sunday, he was crazy off that meth. He was arguing with employees and his voice was very raspy than usual.
On Saturday, when the employees would try to bring him dirty dishes he would cuss them out because there was too many dishes on the sink and he would bump into employees tell them to “move”.
The situation: On Sunday, he clocked into work with his shades, backpack on, and phone out, and while he was doing the dishes he would sometimes go on his phone (PHONES IS NOT ALLOWED WHILE WORKING). One of the managers told the GM about him clocking in with his stuff on him and using his phone during work then the GM called the dude into the office. Based on what I’ve heard, the GM was getting on him about using his phone while working and the dude started lying and saying he wasn’t on his phone (even tho we saw him using his phone). I didn’t really hear what they was talking about but all of a sudden I started hearing the guy yelling at the GM, making a big scene, threatening to fight her then said he going to bring his lawyer on his next work day (this upcoming Thursday) and name dropped all the managers, the supervisor, and the employer and said they all getting fired. He kept going back in forth with her until the Supervisor told him to leave then escorted him out the workplace. He was of course arguing with the Supervisor on his way out, making a scene, yelling “I DIDN’T DO NOTHING, LOOK AT THE CAMERAS, YALL BE MESSING WITH ME FOR NO REASON, ALL YALL GETTING FIRED.” The arguement between him and the Supervisor continued in the lobby in front of our customers. After that, he kept walking in and out of the workplace to the office to argue with the GM, saying he didn’t do nothing and it’s their fault (I really didn’t understand most of what he was saying). After the 5th time walking in and out, he never came back.
Hi Everyone,
I'm looking at a job vacancy (in the UK) for a Yard/Building Person. After reading some of the posts here it seems this job title might be reworded from 'Maintenance Person'. Is anyone here specifically a Yard/Building Person and could they confirm the role ISN'T a typical maintenance role, before I apply?
Cheers
I’ve had the original toy display stand from the McDonald’s I used to work at for like 2 yrs. I stopped working there an about 8 months ago and as much as I like this thing, it is kinda big and kinda pointless and I’d love to have more room in my room. As stupid as it seems I’m sorta at a cross roads. It’s cool mc memorabilia and it was my 🍃 hiding spot before my parents knew about me using it, and its been the center piece of my room since I’ve had it, this room is just much smaller than my last one.
(Aus) I applied about a month ago and got an interview after a week of waiting. The interview was 14 days ago and went well, about 15 minutes after the interview ended I was sent an email asking for my Right to work documents which i provided and I haven't heard back yet. Should i call or email the store asking or do i just have to wait it out. Im still confused why they asked me for my right to work documents and haven't reached out again.
Last time I applied the Olivia bot said the same thing but this time it’s a text message
I had an interview on the 19th, and on the 23rd, I received an email saying they were moving forward with the next part of the process, which was submitting right-to-work documents. I found this a bit strange because, at my first job at maccas, we provided our documents at the interview. Anyways, I submitted the documents, but I haven’t heard back since. I’m just wondering if this is normal?
hey guys, my mcdonalds platinum card says it expires tomorrow. does that mean i won't be able to get 50% off anymore, or will it be renewed? thanks!
I’m 16 and just got my first job as crew member at McDonald’s. I’m starting next week so I was just wondering if you guys have any tips or anything to help! Pretty nervous as I’ve never worked a job before they’ll have to teach me everything and don’t want to mess up.
Hey so I was sent an offer for casual which I accepted but then I realised that I won’t have the guarantee of Making a certain amount of money in a week. I really cannot afford to live without working and I need to get my bills paid.
I’ve been struggling with not having a job and I’m glad I have this but I’m kind of scared that they won’t give me shifts and I’ll literally be useless. So should I give this job up or should I work as a causal.
Hey all, I just did an interview today and my boss pretty much told me that I got the job. For context I am a student in high school, and she told me that she would recommend working around 10 hours a week. Thing is I'm pretty busy with other things and I don't really want to work that many hours so is it ok if I worked something like 3 - 6 hours a week instead of 10?
So my old manager fired me and didn't explain why. He jokingly called me moving to my new store a gift from god.
So I shipped out diet pills from Walmart gift wrapped with a card saying. "Here's to being a better manager". I got a write up. AITAH?
Hey, I work part time and have done so for nearly 2 years now. How do I see how many holiday days I have, and how should I go about booking them? I’m also curious as to how much they pay for each holiday day. Thanks :)
Hey everyone!
I was recently hired at my local Mcdonalds and was given an account. I don't have my first day/orientation until Wednesday but was told to login into my account anyways. So I tried and it said my password expired and I have tried like hell to get a new one through the MCD login thingy. It says it'll redirect me to reset my password but it doesn't.
Is there any way to reset it? Or do I just have to wait until Wednesday and explain to my manager that I was like 5 minutes to late logging into my account so the password expired?
To preface this, I’ve only been working at McDonald’s for a little under 4 months, and during my PR (week 12), I was told I can apply to be a crew trainer - and that it’s mine if I want it! I can apply within the next few weeks when the program opens.
I’ve noticed, though, that when I am asked to train people now, there are some frequent problems that I’m not sure how to tackle.
Multiple times, when I’ve been training people on headset, I’ve explained the basics, let them watch me take a couple orders and payments, and then asked if they want to try, they outright say no. I asked them then if they wanted to push the buttons whilst I speak to the customer or speak to the customer whilst I use the till, but most still said no.
I think their refusal comes from a place of anxiety, and before joining the McFamily I also used to be anxious. Like, wouldn’t make ANY phone calls at all or go outside ever type of anxious. Because of that, I’m not comfortable “forcing” someone to give headset a go before they’re ready. Is there a way to gently encourage people to try a new station even though they clearly don’t want to?
Additionally, sometimes I feel as though the people I’m training just don’t want to learn the station. Maybe that’s a bit harsh, but sometimes I’ll ask someone to do the most basic thing that I know they’re capable of, and they just won’t.
I’m not a manager or anything so I know that might add to why they’re refusing to do most things I ask, but that can’t be the only reason.
Recently, I worked with someone who 100% knows how to mop, and 100% knows how to bring hot cups out from the stock room (both tasks they’ve done many times). When they complained about being bored and having “nothing to do,” I would suggest something like, “maybe you could bring hot cups down? I’ll put them away if you leave them anywhere” or, “you could make a start on the floor whilst I’m gone, maybe just this little part of it and I’ll do the other part when I come back.”
From there, it was excuse after excuse. “I can’t find the hot cups.” I told them the exact shelf number and height, what side of the room it’s on, what the box says, literally exactly where to find it. “Still can’t find it.” So I pulled some cup sleeves out the box and laid them directly across the very front shelf, bright yellow cups in a sea of brown cardboard, IMPOSSIBLE to miss. Coworker disappeared to the stock room and came back a full 10+ minutes later, no cups in hand, and just said nothing about it. I gave up with that one as it became clear to me that the issue was most likely laziness and I didn’t want to argue.
Same with the mopping, I came back from break and none of the mopping had been done. In fact, none of the cleaning had been done in the entire 45 minutes I was gone, some stuff had been put away, but I know that was the manager.
To get to the point, I’m wondering about the best way to train someone if they clearly don’t want to do the task for whatever reason. I’ve tried “see it, try it, check it” but I can’t seem to get some people to actually try it.
I’m hoping the problem isn’t just me, as I’ve trained people before in other jobs but never officially been a trainer or supervisor and really want to do well because I love love LOVE the store I work at.
I’ve been working at McDonalds for a couple months now and when I first had to fill out my banking information I put the wrong numbers for my account. After that I fixed it to the right number and they still telling me they don’t have my banking info. I spoke to my manager last week and he verified it and now today they are saying they don’t have it. I even called my bank to see if it’s something on their end but they can’t do anything. I gave them my banking, institution, transit and account number so I don’t understand what there missing.
Don't know if it fits here but I started working at mcdo but didn't know the true story. If you watch this, you'll know :)
