Is Janson his last name or first name because he introduces himself as mr jandon but all of the characters after that call him janson. If it is his last name does it mention anywhere in the book what his first name is?
so in the beginning of scorch trials you see what i think is thomas's mother? when she says goodbye, she calls him thomas. wouldnt she call him stephen, as it was his birth name? also is it correct that thomas is called stephen - ive heard it but idk lol
Teresa's definitely my favorite character in both the book and movie. (more the book, but she's still my favorite character in the movie too.
In the book, she had a genuine reason to betray Thomas, and I feel even more bad for her because she had her memories and remembered everything about Thomas. Plus, nothing that bad even happened to Thomas; I mean I get he might still be a bit upset at her because she broke his trust, but it’s not like her doing the things she did change anything. Furthermore, she CERTAINLY sacrificed herself for Thomas in the books, there’s no denying that, she pushed him and got killed herself to be saved from the rubble.
In the movies, she chose to save humanity over a few people. And it’s not like those people are going to get killed, WICKED promised Teresa they wouldn’t harm them. Also, even though she was completely in the right, she still made up for it and died sacrificing herself for Thomas. And to the people saying “She chose not to jump” She had like a second or two before it fell and she didn’t jump because either she was panting a lot and could barely breathe, or because she didn’t believe she deserved to live. I think it’s a little bit of both, which makes it even more sad because she was panting because she helped Thomas who was limping get on, and if it weren’t for her, he would die. Also, a lot of people keep blaming her for Newt dying. Nope! It’s completely not her fault that Newt died, in fact, if things went as she planned, there wouldn’t be a chance of Newt getting the Flare because WICKED wouldn’t let that happen.
You also have to understand that Teresa was about four when she first joined WICKED, and so being 17 when they were in the maze, she’d been manipulated by WICKED for over 13 years, (practically her whole life), and when she wasn’t with WICKED, like mentioned in The Kill Order, the world was a really bad place thanks to the Cranks, and I’m not going to go in-depth about it because I don’t want to spoil to anyone who’s intending on reading it, but it’s really traumatizing.
RIP Teresa she deserves better :(
i started reading kill order and im finding it rather boring as im not a fan of this "mark" guy and i miss the old characters - does it get good? do we meet thomas, newt, minho, etc again? also same with fever code, is it worth the read? thanks!
Ok so im reading The Scorch Trails book rn and rat man (aka Janson) told the surviores they all had the flare (That WICKED gave them all the flare or something) before sending them to the scorch so is that how Newt got infected? like Newt being infected is WICKEDs fault after all?
Ok so >!in the fever code book Thomas was supposed to go to the maze with his memorise, and so was Teresa, But Ava drugged him and sent him to the maze without his memorise,!<So what do you think would have happened if Thomas didnt lose his memorise?
yk how after the subject number (eg. Subject A1) there is a phrase (e.g. Subject A1 - The Betrayer), I was wondering if gally had one or if there was a fan-made one for gally. i haven't read the books in a while but im assuming because >!he wasn't there in the scorch trials!<, his wasn't mentioned. but it has been a while so maybe i missed it. thank you!
I’m very curious about it and i don’t have it in my country like what was Minho’s third trial or Frypans backstory or the lost emails of WICKED employees what does it contain in importance??
Also, you choose if you want a prize for it.
Edit: yall dont need to go into the maze, you can just stay in the glade with the person you choose
so prtty much it ws like after the ceiling or wtv collapsed and thomas and brenda got seperated from the others while they was eating and thomas and brenda wnt to find them in the tunnels or wtv, cn anyonme tell me wht chapter the tunnels started at
I would probably be a slicer
I've been hard at work getting the map up to scratch with lots of new custom tools just to make it look as authentic as possible, just finished 1st pass on inner maze and now moving onto glade details.
watched death cure again today and now im curious
pretty sure its on the new uk ones
Like I find them so adorable for no reason and my friends think I’m insane. Like I just want to hug one and like make it my little pet. On top of them it’d be like a little bodyguard not to mention how often do we know they get fed? Exactly we don’t so that means I’m going to believe they’re not expensive food wise
I didn't really like the books and the more I read the more questions came up and most of them were never answered.
For example: Why did Teresa fall in a coma? Why had she and Thomas have to learn telepathy? I never got the feeling they really needed it. How did Gally reach the end of the Maze? At the beginning of Scorch Trials Rat Man tells them, that they can see things which aren't real, what purpose did this have? It never came up again, did some parts of the story actually never happen? Why did Thomas help WICKED and what kind of help was that? Why did Teresa flee in the Death Cure? And some others ...
I also saw people not being sure if Teresa lost her memory or didn't (or lost parts of it) after reading the prequels. If they create even more questions, please warn me. I want answers but I don't want to read the books.
How can an OBJ file of the maze be used to create a real-life object, like the one in Ava Paige’s office in The Maze Runner?
I've read the Maze Cutter and the Godhead Complex, but I still don't quite understand what the Remnant Nation and the Godhead are.
From my understanding, the Godhead is a religious nation that worships the Flare like a God. They have inherited most of WICKED's technology and weaponry, they having cities set-up in Alaska where pilgrims go to the ruins of the maze for religious worship. It is ruled by people who have a different strain of the Flare which gives them supposed 'special powers' and a 'higher intelligence' than the common folk.
The Remnant Nation is a nation that protects itself from the Flare violently, killing all who get close to it's borders. They have some technology, such as Bergs, while making new machines like the Grief Walkers. They use child soldiers as border guards and use captured Cranks as cannon fodder.
This is just my understanding of what they are, but is there some lore in the books or some comments made by the author that I missed that explains how they came to be and goes more in-depth on their history?
I get why they killed some of the immunes to instill fear and stuff and to make the cure, but like for certain immunes, >!like those carried away by grievers at the end of the first book or the gladers who stayed behind rather than joining the escape, !<couldn't they have used them for another purpose? I mean the impact would still be there for the remaining gladers, but like they just decided to kill them off?? I only recently started getting back into the books, so please forgive me if they talk about this in later books, or prequel.
just wondering because usually when it comes to books without the original characters im not as much of a fan
