Just did my high pressure fuel pump upgrade to the cs one but now I’m getting misfires in random cylinders….. idk if I should just put the old one back 😔
My plan is just to have this car as a street car that's comfortable to drive to meets and cruises and I want to find out how much I could push out of the engine if I do another timing kit, internals, replace worn parts, tune for 22-25psi, maybe a bigger turbo.
I'm curious to see what anyone in this group has pushed it to and what the best way to go about it is. Cheers.
Can not get the fuel rail back on without chewing up blue o-ring on the injector and causing a leak any tips? Yes I’ve been using lubricants and have very slowly tightened the bolts so there’s even pressure on the rail.
I recently got myself a 2007 mazdaspeed 6, the only thing which I really don’t like is that I have to lock and unlock the car using the key itself. The key fob has battery bc it flashes whenever I press a button but my car won’t respond to it. I tried to program It by doing the step by step process to get it into its programming mode. I’ve done it countless times and everytime I get nothing. I open my door and press lock and unlock (weird thing about doing that is when I press lock with my door open it automatically unlocks the car) anyways I do that put my key in, cycle it 3 times on then to off, close and open my door 3 times leaving it open at the end and NADA. I’m losing my mind. I even brought it to a professional locksmith so they could just do it with their scanner tool and still they can’t do it. If somebody knows how I can fix this headache please I will personally mail you a pack of beer.
So I installed these aftermarket headlights with halo drl wtv but now my bottom fog lights don’t turn on….. in my headlight the high beam led turns on when I turn the wheel for the fog lights and then when I put my high beams it brightens up. I’ve checked fuses and relays and they’re all fine. I checked the fog light connectors with a test light and I’m not getting any power…. Honestly just stuck on what I should do because I don’t want to have them running with the halos when it turns. Also the headlight does come with its own fog lights only thing is that the plug from the car doesn’t have that pin.
Wondering if the front suspension is the same as the ms6? I know most things aren’t but suspension looks pretty similar to me
I recently just bought a speed6 and I'm taking it with me to school. It's got about 61,000 miles on the clock; I was just wondering any reccomened maintenance I should get squared away before I leave.
Trying to sell my stock MS6, how bad is this? Engine is warm.
Got her running smooth just did a vvt and timing chain replacement, new belt, water pump, oem exhaust welded on only thing left is all the ball joints and bushings, now I’m getting a huge leak of gas from my hpfp housing I think only because I had to take it apart when I did the chain to put it back. Is there a cheap alternative to getting the new and updated pump? Like a cx7 just newer ofc? Or is the only option really is the aftermarket ones from Cobb and c? Also my doors won’t lock with the remote nor will it let me reprogram my key which I keep reading it could be the keyless entry sensor but not sure if that’s the issue
Hi everyone I was hoping someone could help me with some tips/suggestions. I bought a 06 speed 6 for 1200 bucks from a guy in Nevada that tried turning the car into a street racer with a full catless straightpipe setup. The car starts and runs but billows smoke. I have a known good stock speed 3 turbo, and I pulled the OEM exhaust off a junkyard mazdaspeed 6, but the junkyard takes the cats off before letting people at them so I was unable to get the downpipe off the scrapped speed 6. I want to get the car running as cheaply as possible without worrying about billowing smoke or being crazy loud. I have read online that if you're running the stock turbo, the stock downpipe works great because it keeps the turbo seals under proper pressure and reduces the chances of smoking, but I am unable to find an OEM downpipe for sale anywhere online. Are there any good catted downpipes that work well with the stock turbo? I also live in Portland Oregon so the car needs to pass emissions so I can't use anything that would throw a CEL.

I'm looking for radio upgrade suggestions. I have an 06 Speed6 GT with the Stock Stereo and Bose speakers. I did the AUX mod and have a small bluetooth dongle connected. Had to get a new dongle and it powers on when it gets power (had to manually power on/off the old one), so now I'm fiending for an actual radio upgrade with bluetooth and wireless Apple CarPlay and all that jazz.
I want the touchscreen to replace the storage cubby on the dash, above the stereo. I'd like wireless Apple CarPlay, the ability to add a reverse camera, steering wheel controls, and I'd like the stock stereo to still function. WiFi/Cellular, microphone, etc., would be a nice bonus.
I've heard a lot of stereo upgrades are supposed to be plug and play, but still require wire splicing if you have the Bose speakers. They also render the stock stereo useless (if it doesn't replace it entirely), and they often render the clock/temperature LED display useless.. I saw a post from someone who had the cubby display and everything worked in unison, but it was old and they didn't have a link.
Anyone got any suggestions that they know work, or have experience with?
I realize I'm probably asking a lot. lol.
I'm going to look at a 2006 turbo AWD Manual Speed6 with 121k miles today.
Anything I should look for specifically when I'm test driving and looking over the car? I may be a little over anxious to pull the trigger so I'm hoping for a little help from the group.
I'm not delusional I understand it's a 20 year old car ( I have an 88 740 turbo) and will have 20 year old problems. Just looking for some help from the experts. Thanks.

So I recently bought a speed6 been doing some maintenance to it and I opened the valve cover to replace the gaskets as oil was leaking onto the plugs. I noticed the timing chain has a lot of slack. The engine was rebuilt 5,500 miles ago so I assume timing was done aswell. Does this look like timing was done? Engine has 97,000 miles on it. Doesn’t make any noise on startup just wondering if it’s something I’ll have to do in the near future. Thanks.
Maybe it's common knowledge to MS6 owners, but I couldn't find anything when searching for info on replacing the lower steering shaft u joint. This one works just fine. The Dorman 425-344 should fit too.
Hello guys! My 2006 mazdaspeed6 is a straight smoke machine right now, and I’m certain is the turbo pissing oil into the exhaust because this thing eats oil like nobody’s business. Honestly pretty embarrassing at red light when it decides to fog everyone out (and it smells gross).
ANYWAYS, was wondering if anyone had suggestions for where to buy a turbo and which turbo to buy. I’m not trying to break the bank, just get something that works on the same level as stock and doesn’t leak oil into the exhaust. Was hoping to keep it under $500 or just around there, but I see some mixed reviews in this price range…
Also any tips for doing the job would be super appreciated, I’ve worked on my 1979 Jeep a whole bunch, but never torn into any other car before….

I am considering purchasing an 06 Grand Touring AWD with extensive modifications. I have not had the chance to check it out in-person, but I have been communicating with a tech who has. I am still doing my research on this car. It seems that the weakpoints are #2 piston, VVT, and underbody rust. Are there any other things I should be looking for?

Engine: SP63 stg2 | Turbo: Gtx3076r v2 w/ Tial 44mm wastegate | Clutch: X Clutch twin disc stg4 | Fuel: ID1050x port injection 8th port, Hellcat 525lpfp (in-tank), Corksport HPFP | Jmf intake | Exhaust: Corksport exhaust manifold, CPE catless dp and full catback | Tuning: Tuned by PD and it has a Cobb AP installed.
The body is in good shape. Normal wear and tear to leather seats.
Problems that I know of so far: Clearcoat is peeling 4th gear is damaged Driveshaft bearing boot (trans side) is torn
The pricing for these cars seem to vary quite a bit, so I am not sure what it may be worth. From what I understand extensive modifications do not increase the value, but I could be wrong. I will have the car professionally inspected before I give an offer. With all that being said, could anyone provide any clues as to its value based on the info I have?
2006 speed6, was always broken. After 9yrs of ownership, I sold it. I still regret it.
Does anyone know of this chirping sound coming from my HPFP? Is my fuel pressure relief valve going bad? Its very apparent on cold start as well as past 20% throttle.
Hi guys, I'd like to upgrade both rear differential brackets but want to know is there anything better than corksport ? They only sell the front rear differential bracket too... Which other company sells both for good quality
So when I have my door open and try to lock all doors they don’t as if I had the key inside the ignition still. It also doesn’t let me program the remote, I’ve tried the procedures multiple times but nothing. If I lock it from turning the key outside it does lock so idk what’s with it… idk if the last owner left the smart key inside???
So I'm in bit of a pickle with my Speed6. It needs high beams to pass safety for me to be able to drive it but I can't figure out what's wrong. All lights work except for high beams, it gets no power by the fuses for high beams, light switch gets power.
The pump itself seems to be fine (I think) so I'm hoping I just have to replace some lines. Rock Auto has this kit and two other related items that would seem to do the job.
Am I better off ordering OEM parts or tackling this a different way?
Edit: I should have said this before, but it doesn't seem to be a constant leak. Maybe once a month it just jizzes out a couple ounces for no reason....

Not sure on where to start with modding the car but she’s all stock so is there anything that would prolong the life of the engine or outdated stuff we don’t need anymore ?
