We talk about Mazdaspeed6's here!

I recently bought a 2006 Mazda Mazdaspeed6. it has 157,000 miles total and a new engine with about 40,000. This is my first car so bear with me. Recently, I've been having problems with engine hesitation/stuttering. first, it was running rich at idle, (code P2188) Then one day the engine bogged down and shut off while I was driving, and gave me the code P0087. This has not happened again, but now my car is sputtering when I try to accelerate, and its getting worse. then I cleaned the MAF sensor, and replaced the Fuel rail pressure sensor, and that didn’t fix it. I replaced the starter motor since it went bad, and also replaced the crankshaft position sensor, and maf sensor. It cranked and started fine, and it got me home, But now the car’s hesitation seemed to be a lot worst and it sometimes bogs down at idle. It also gave me a misfire code P0300 on top of that, now it doesn’t even start, It cranks, but doesn’t start. I’m wondering if the car not starting can narrow down what the problem is.
Window motor works, but it doesn't roll up more than 3 inches. Anyone have any idea why?
Bought the car over a year ago and it came with the access port. It has worked great until a couple weeks ago. Took it to dealership to get a new key programmed cause mine was beat to hell. Since then it’s been disconnecting constantly. I tried a friends cord then bought a new cord cause forums said that’s usually the issue. Nothing has seemed to help. I think it’s the odb port. Any help is appreciated!
So I’ve owned my speed6 since about 2010, and finally have “adult” money to spend on it. The ultimate goal is ~300whp and reliable. 110,000mi, never had VVT done. Only mods are CAI, and cat back with a Street Unit test pipe in place of the second cat. Would love some opinions on where to start, as there can’t be that many ways to get to 300whp in a car with a limited after market. Thank you!
Alright boys, is it time to pull the trigger? Ive been waiting since i bought my car. Any reasons I shouldn't order it right this second?
What are some recommended rebuild kits that can help me reach 400 whp or higher and still remain reliable? my budget is around $1500.
Boy is this going to upset some people. I already was reading other forums about it and everyone seems to say no. Buuuuuuuut.... I've wanted an Evo since I was young, but am too broke to buy or build one, let alone break one. So I bought a MS6 instead right out of highschool. And have been beating the shit out of it constantly ever since. Specifically down dirt lanes. Granted, I only "rally" down country farm roads and off road parks(?). I'm no expert and am not doing this professionally or anything. But yeah, the guys online all say to not, it's not built for it, apparently Mazda themselves state to not. But based off of my experience, it's held up great and is like butter. Tones of feedback and grip. I took a friends WRX down a dirt lane before and couldn't get it to cut around corners with just throttle. But the MS6 does it in strides. The only thing is it's length. It's a slightly longer sedan and that could cause problems. But throwing a good set of coilovers on it, and what else? Need to strengthen the chassis at all? Thanks! Lol

I have had my current android unit for about a year now and I haven’t been able to get the steering wheel buttons to work or the info screen to display the proper outside temp or AC temp, just 32 degrees all the time .
I purchased this head unit and face frame:
The canbus is built into the face frame. My understanding is that both my issues are controlled by the canbus. These issues aren’t important just annoying I guess. When I go to the steering learn the sync fails.
-If so, any recommendations on how to get it to work?
Note: I did get the steering wheel media controls to work with a different wiring harness at one point, but the harness was returned because it had issues with something but I don’t remember what it was. Leads me to think my current wiring harness has the steering control wire routed differently
So I got a 07' speed6 gt in October. It's very clean, but has high mileage (191,000). I seem to be getting a check engine light only when I'm on my last quarter tank of gas. It goes away immediately when I fill the tank. I'm going to check the code later, but has anyone heard of something like this before? I'm thinking either evap system, or clogged fuel filter? My only engine mod is a cold air intake.
So, I know this isn't an MS6-specific issue, but the cause might be. So recently my Speed6 has been vibrating ar highway speeds. I recently had brand new tires installed and after three alignments, it still drifts to the left a bit, so I'm not sure if that's contributing to it. I took it to Midas and they said the front right wheel was 2oz so they fixed it, but ither than that, everything steering/suspension wise looked perfect. It helped a little, but it still vibrates. Has anyone else run into the same issue? And if you have and you've fixed it, what worked for you?
Hey guys, I recently became a proud owner of a Mazdaspeed6 (or Mazda 6 MPS as we call it in germany) and the previous owner put 10W60 in it. Now I want to change the oil because I don´t know when the last change was done. I read in some german forums that most people tend to use 5W50 or 0W40 and everyone recommends to not use 5W30.
What would you recommend for me? I´m not using this vehicle for racing on tracks but I like to speed up a bit on the Autobahn (for obvious reasons :P) and I don´t want to put anything in it that might damage the engine. Thanks in advance! :)
I’ve been restoring my 06 mazdaspeed 6 and literally every coolant hose and the radiator is leaking coolant. Is there any place I could buy a hoses and radiator kit or just a hoses kit? Also wondering the same thing for my refrigerant / a/c hoses. And lastly, are there any well known failures points I should check out while I have it torn apart (besides rust and VVT).
I'm wanting to install a oil cooler on my 2004 Mazda 6 i and I want to put on the oil cooler that the mazdaspeed has. Everything's good but idk where to connect the coolant hoses to from the oil cooler itself. I noticed that there's two connections on the bottom of the radiator, but from what I saw online it's not typically meant for the oil cooler. I can't find enough info online about this so I figured someone here can help me out, even suggestions (or ridicule me to make you feel better).
Hey Guys,
I was wondering if anyone would be interested in purchasing my 2007 Mazdaspeed 6. I no longer have the time or the money to upgrade the car how I'd like and I already have another daily so I need this car gone, as much as I hate to let it go.
Just had the transmission rebuilt and installing a new transfer case at a professional shop, will provide receipts.
Currently has 129k miles, clean title, no check engine lights, Godspeed Monomaxx coilovers, Stage 1+ Spec Clutch and a short throw shift plate.
Located in Los Angeles California. Will provide pictures upon request
Asking 4500 OBO, thank you guys for your time.
I was scrolling in this same subreddit and I found a post from about 7 years ago and it was about how the awd system worked so obviously because I don’t know shit about it and I would like to learn I read it all and some of the comments but one thing the original poster said was that “in sport mode” and that confused me because so far to my knowledge theirs no such thing in the 6 can some one help me out a bit please I’m so curious
Long story short, had misfire in the famous cylinder 3
Cylinder 1/2/4 155psi Cylinder 3 30psi
We took off the valve cover.. no scaring on the cams and no metal shavings at all. The chain not loose at all and super tight.
Maybe a bent valve? Gonna pull oil pan tomorrow and take a look at bottom..
But what's best option to get back on the road per say?
What's your experience with issue?
I have a leaky powersteering line coming off of the reservoir. I guess that is probably the low pressure line. Any solutions to fixing it? Part numbers or resources?
Is there any way to manually control the AWD system on the speed6 drivetrain? This post made in this forum 7 years ago say that the ECU can control the bias. Is there anyway to control this manually? In the next few years I want to AWD swap my Mazdaspeed3 when I get my own house & garage, so I'm doing a lot of research on the drivetrain and came across this.
Hey guys I’m pretty new to my speed6 and I’m tryina get the best build that I’m comfortable with. I know both turbos are great and one is more powerful than the other and one is more reliable but I was curious on more fitment
I have a circuit werks DP for my speed6 already installed but I was curious if it would fit the bnr s4? I also have an AEM cold air intake for the speed6 that came with the car pretty new, will this also fit right on the bnr s4?
If these two pieces don’t really fit on the bnr s4 I will most likely just go ahead and purchase the bnr s3, I couldn’t really find any exact answers anywhere for this, I appreciate all the help and look forward to completing this amazing car!
I’ve finally gotten to the point in my Speed’s journey where I’d like to replace the 140,000 mile 20 year old rubber, shocks, and springs. I’ve done a bit of my own research but I’m curious what everyone here recommends for a setup that makes for a slightly less monster truck look, while maintaining a comfortable and well handled ride. If anyone has any additional insight about specific components that can be replaced as assemblies or all inclusive kits I may have overlooked, that would also be greatly appreciated!
P.S. Please feel free to take this as an opportunity to show off your beautiful Mazdas and fitments.
I was working under my car and noticed 3 plugs not connected to anything. All plugs are electrical taped together. One turned out to be the right side marker light, but I can’t find the location for the other two.
The light gray plug has 2 wires (black and Orange) and the black plug has 2 wires (black and blue). They can’t plug into each other (I tried).
The location is in the front right of the car, right by the horns. Any idea where they go?
