I have a 2001 lx2.0 auto. It has just about 230k on it. I noticed now that we have snow that it’s leaking tranny fluid. Is it more likely to be a seal on the actual transmission, or a hose of some kind? Seems a bit far forward to be the transmission based on where the pan is underneath. But I can’t see hoses or anything with the light I have. Any ideas for the best place to start?
Looking for a rear bumper for my protege5, can anybody link me to someone selling at least a mint condition one, ive tried ordering from several oem mazda sites but they seem to always be unable to send one out.
Hello, I just changed coils, after having random multiple misfires, now I have catalyst 1 below threshold along with egr flow, on my scanner. I used cat a clean, and it came back on. Do y’all think I just needs to change the cat, or is there something else I can do.
Hey all, I have a 2003 Protege5 2.0L Manual with 223,000 miles.
The local Advance Auto is having an 80% store closing sale (batteries not included). I was curious what parts everyone would recommend I purchase in anticipation of any high likelihood upcoming mileage related failures?
I've owned the vehicle since 155,000 and as far as I know the alternator and starter have never been replaced.

Hi, I'm looking for the correct names for the tools to lock the cam, for doing a timing job, and the crank to do the clutch. I'm trying to find metal made tools instead of 3D printed if possible.
Or if you know a place to buy them online, with good rep.
what should i look into first? no spark on all four spark plugs. the crank position sensor had been replaced but no improvement.
2 years and almost 30k miles of driving (got it at 104k) it treated me very well 💔
So I went for a drive and then within 15 seconds I heard a knocking noise that had a rhythm to it and sounded like it was from the rear. So I pulled over and looked at wheels couldn't see anything and so I continued driving and heard it again so I pulled over called my partner and he wasn't sure either so I went for drive again and the noise stopped. I don't know much about cars but I feel really concerned as I'm planning to drive for 6 hours after Christmas day... any one have any idea what it could be. I've had the car since last year. Please help. My car is a Mazda 323 protege 2003 sedan
I looked under glovebox and can't seem to find the cabin filter
It could be the MAP, EGR, the connections or the sensors, or (hopefully not) the manifold itself.
Has anyone had this code before? And if so, what helped you?
So I drive a 2002 protege 2L automatic. Every once in a while, i’ll be driving and the o/d off light will start flashing with it a check engine. The code for the check engine is P0715 Input/turbine speed sensor A circuit.
I’m not sure what the problem could be, any ideas?
My 01 protege keeps snapping just my alternator belt. The power steering was squealing for a while but got it tightened and it stopped without a problem. But the alternator belt will break after just putting it on and having it tightened correctly.
on a recent hiway trip I got 800klms to a tank of fuel. a/c on. 2.0 engine
'99 LX model here.
I hit a speedbump a little too quick. Engine sounds perfectly fine (so far), suspension held on, nothing too crazy. However, I have no clue what's going on with the sensors.
Red check oil light comes on when I insert the keys and start the electrical systems, but it vanishes when I actually start the engine. What is happening?
Hey guys, I'm really looking for... it feels like ages. I have a Mazda 323 (JP: Mazda Familia S-Wagon) or as you guys know it as the Protege gen 3 I would assume. The pre facelift before the last gen.
I'm really looking hard for that specific bumper. Can't find a parts number on the official Catalog. No one can't tell me how to get it, where to get it or what the parts number is. Wrote with japanese peope, no reply (quite hard to write with some as well), wrote with russians, not really helping. Has anyone see this skirt?
I have a 2002 mazda protege es and my friend was messing with the sunroof and got it stuck slightly open. Before I just take down the motor do y'all know if there is a manual crank that i'm missing (i'm assuming not since it isn't in the manual). Or any other ideas on a good way to close it don't really care if it never opens again just kinda want it closed.
As far as I know, this is a bad idea for some cars because it affects the centre of gravity and structural rigidity of the car. I want to know if that is the case for the Protege 2003 sedan
I know very well that it will not impact car power much, but a diminutive difference is still a difference. Every day I struggle with merging on a couple of highways, driving a sort of uphill on an inclined road, and overtaking trucks in a two-way line so I think Im missing some power on the car. I don't have the budget for modifications or changing my car at this moment, so that is the only thing that is within my reach.
