Just watched matrix 4

This movie doesn't feel nearly as bad as I've been told. Like yeah not perfect but I really enjoyed it.

Who do you think are The Suits?

The Analyst mentioned The Suits in Resurrections. Who do you think they are?

A higher Machine Program?

Human Oligarchs that pull the strings?

Meta reference to WB execs?

Do you think they will be a component in the 5th installment?

Home theater buffs out there

If you have a really nice properly tuned home theater and want one of the best scenes from any movie in terms of testing out pure Atmos at its finest, made before the Atmos standard no less, this is it.

Had some ideas about the Matrix in this. Francis Coppola tells about the architect who wants to rebuild the New York city as a sustainable utopia. This scene occurs as either a dream or simulation.

The matrix story I want

I want to see Cypherites and “digital pimps” being ostracized in Zion, and welcomed into the machine world. I want to see festivals in the Matrix attacked with code bombs that reveal the digital rain, threaten the peace, and piss off fellow humans who don’t want to be reminded of where they are. I want to see humans beg to be let back in to the matrix so they don’t have to scratch out a living in the cold damp world. I want to explore questions about authority and freedom, where some choose to live in a digital dollhouse full of rules and food, and others choose freedom and all the struggles that come with it. And I want to see the fringe groups on both sides work together to try to start the war they both want.

The matrix is really about taoism..

I went on another rabbit hole last night after watching the matrix,

Really when you think about it, the matrix and being ‘unplugged’ is when you get down to it, Taoism and ‘dudeism’

By the whole ‘uncarved stone’ you are not molding yourself to fit into the ideas and idiology of the machines being in control, and being both present in the moment but absent, The ying is being unplugged, while the yang is the machine world of the matrix, that the two need to exist together to be able to truley ‘unplug’
and freeing the matrix is being your own inner calm in a world full of the chaos

If rebels were offered a choice to destroy machines but kill 99% of people connected to matrix along with them, they would do it.

Think how neo treated these poor security guards in matrix 1 - just massacred them without second thought. Yeah, it was necessary, as they could have been taken over by agents. But note how nonchalant he was. I would have expected at least him to have mixed feelings.. but no. He reacted pretty much like normal person would react to squashing a mosquito.

Rebels, especially those following Morpheus - were cultists. And these not being part of the cult were not even humans to them. Think about various doomsday cults that believe they themselves have key to salvation and the rest of the society is destined for hell. For example, these psychos from japan who did chemical weapons attack.

They will kill, steal, and deceive others, but this does not matter - other people are just pawns of satan, while cultists are righteous ones, with mission from god, with destiny to fulfill.

Same with rebels in Matrix. Their goal justifies the means. Killing few billion people? Well, these are bluepills, they are part of the system, and they don't know the truth. They belong to machines. They are not even human anymore. Just pieces of meat connected to the powerplant, just going through the motions in the false reality.

Matrix 1: Am I the only one that thinks Morpheus and the resistance are actually immoral and not the good guys?

Limiting the discussion to just the first movie (I like to sometimes pretend the others don't exist), I feel like Morpheus is immoral in his goals to destroy the matrix.

Well, before we get to the ultimate goal of destroying the matrix and why that's pretty much hell, let's look at how he treats his idol, neo. He doesn't tell him what the matrix is, or that by taking the red pill his current life will end, just that it will show him the truth. Who doesn't want to see the truth, if it doesn't have consequences. He doesn't mention that it's a one way door into a destroyed and war torn earth, or that he's joining a war on the losing side. They're red pilling people by withholding key facts and turning their worlds completely upside down, but they like to pretend to be good guys by pretending to give them a choice.

If they cared about giving people a choice why is their ultimate goal to destroy the matrix, pushing everyone in the real world without their consent

The thing is most people don't want to go to an earth with no sun, nearly unliveable radiation, completely dead planet, destroyed civilization, complete and utter poverty, unrest. They'd prefer that comfortable womb in peak sim civilization, even if it was "fake". Imagine how unhappy people would be if Morpheus succeeded. Imagine the chaos. It's a nightmare. The machines have the interests of the humans better than Morpheus. Hell I'd argue the machines acted in the best interests of humanity by creating the matrix given the horrible circumstances of the war and the state of the planet and the abysmal state of human civilization.

What do you think the Paradise and Nightmare Matrixes were like?

We know the Beta versions existed. The Architect says

The first Matrix I designed was quite naturally perfect, it was a work of art, flawless, sublime; a triumph equaled only by its monumental failure.

And Smith says

Did you know that the first Matrix was designed to be a perfect human world where none suffered, where everyone would be happy?

When you hear the first bit about the Paradise Matrix, personally my head immediately goes to visions of clouds in a heaven type place, chocolate cake and ice-cream every day, puppies prancing--- but since it was absent of freewill and choice- I can't imagine it was something obvious like that.

I was thinking about this last night; Agent Smith and The Architect's idea of "perfect" I imagine is wildly different than what we define that as. I'm wondering now- what if it was just a blank white space, humans being pumped full of dopamine and adrenaline. Potentially "perfect" to a machine just simply means designed efficiently with little to no margin for error, "happy" just means the chemical definition of it.

And in relation to the Nightmare matrix the architect says he designed it-

to more accurately reflect the varying grotesqueries of your (humanity's) nature"

Here; one immediately thinks just a hellscape of death and torture, fire and brimestone etc etc.

Seeing as the modern Matrix was the first that defined free will as a parameter, and the imagery that was being displayed on the monitors behind The Architect during this speech was of human wars and riots.

I wonder now if it was something closer to replays of experiences in history in a static perspective, where the user was basically experiencing something like movies. Not nessesary terrible death and destruction, but the worst part being that they were unable to control their existence.

Anyway- so that's my thoughts; I'm wondering what everyone else thinks the Beta versions were like?

Smith and other agents

In the beginning of matrix reloaded agent smith shows up to the meeting and tell them that Neo set him free, but immediately after that regular agents attack the meeting. Is this just random? Is smith working with the machines still in reloaded but not in revolutions? Just something that’s always bothered me and I’ve never really understood considering he kill the agent while attacking Neo after he talks to the oracle

Why don't the machines leave the humans when they can generate power with all the resources they have in the world?

I'm pretty sure there are things in the world that could give a larger power output compared to generating power from humans.

I just want to be free!

I have feelings and thoughts I can’t put into words. I’m here existing but I know I do not belong. I yearn for a place, feeling, or thing and I don’t know what it is. I only know it when I feel it, smell it or dream it. I can’t die until I figure it out but I want it so bad

If Zion wouldn't have been under imminent threat would it have been possible to let Agent Smith destroy the Matrix from within ?

Neo makes a deal with the machines to destroy Agent Smith in exchange of peace.

But if the machines weren't so close to kill all the humans on Zion, do you think it would have been a good idea to let Agent Smith destroy the Matrix ?

If I somehow convinced you that you were in a simulation and offered you a pill that would exit you from the sim, would you take it?

  • I've convinced you that your current life is a sim but you know absolutely nothing about the base reality, if it even follows the same rules of physics or not. Or Whether the sky is blackened or sunny.
  • Once you're awake you can never go back to your old life

Would you take that plunge and take a one way door exit? Or would you continue your "fake" existence hooked up to a machine?

If you decide not to take the exit would the discovery that you know this life is 100% a simulation change anything for you? Would you live your life differently?

What makes the "Animatrix" traumatising despite only being an animated movie?

Recently I have just Re Watched the Animatrix particularly the Second Renaissance with the Human Machine War. Although it's not the same experience as watching it for the first time, it's still traumatising and really sends shivers down your spine and I believe that many people can correlate to this feeling. Altough there are movies and different forms of entertainment out there that probably do a better job at horrifying you, In my opinion none of them have ever come close to the feeling that I first had when I watched the Animatrix.

So what makes the "Animatrix" stand out from the other movies or genres despite being very short and animated?

Because it let's the audience imagination run wild.

Let me explain.

If you give the audience too little information then they will be confused and will not be able to understand what's going on, additionally if you give the audience too much information then the curiosity and imagination will be taken out of the equation as all the information is being served to you on a plate.

By giving the audience just the right amount of information and keeping them on a "need to know basis" then you let the audience fill out the pieces with whatever their mind comes up.

And that's exactly what makes it stand out as being horrifying and traumatising.

I can't remember the amount of times I used to create scenarios after scenarios in my head of the Human Machine War. Battles, Experiences, Loses, Events, Consequences, you name it. ( I recommend that you read "Tanks for Memories" on FanFiction if you want a better insight on what the life of a soldier in the Human Machine War is like)

In my opinion I believe that by making a movie about the Second Renaissance and the Human Machine War would just ruin the entire vibe of the Animatrix and it would take out the factors that made it be so creepy and scary to begin with.

In my opinion we should just let things as they are.

But that's only my opinion.

Thanks for reading my post.👍🏻

Within the Matrix Universe, has it ever become possible for the machines to survive without needing to use humans as their power source?

Resurrections did show the allyship between humans and robots, but obviously still established the Matrix as up and running with robots still clearly using humans as their power source. I was wondering, for the robots that chose to deflect and stay with the humans, how are they still surviving? Has humanity worked out a way to give them a source of power without needing to plug them into The Matrix?

Just need reminders of if Resurrections addresses this directly, or if there's details in the other films that make this more clear.

I am worried that Matrix 5 is gonna end up in developement hell

I think WB made that announcement in part to test if the audience is still exited to see a new Matrix movie. And to be honest, I heard only a mixed reaction to that announcement. I personally am excited to a new Matrix movie, since this is my favorite franchise, but my guess is, that WB will shelve this project soon because of the mixed reactions. What do you think? Will this project move foward? Am I too negative? Or do you have the same worries?

Possibility

Given there is the black sky above the surface of the world in the The Matrix films. Could it be possible that at some point in the distant future that the machines might work out a way of getting rid of that black sky and allow sunlight to return to Earth? Correct me if I'm wrong with this theory and question but I ji wanted to share my thoughts with everyone here and wondered if this could be possible one day. 🙏🤔
