Long John Silver's

Anyone heard when LJS will reopen? It looks like construction is complete. They have hung temporary promotion signage so it can't be too long.

I got a general admission ticket that shows my seat as GA number 7547 but I can't tell on any maps where this seat is. It is section GA, row GA seat 7547. Does anyone know where this is?

Professional Auto Detailer Recommendations?

I'm in Martinsville and looking to have my full size truck professionally detailed inside and out, but not had much luck in the past finding anyone local. Cost is not the top priority - quality of work and attention to detail absolutely is. Have any recommendations? If so, please share them. Thank you.

Race fans gathering next weekend for NASCAR playoffs should follow signage to reduce traffic congestion at Martinsville Speedway

With a weekend full of racing, drivers should expect an increased volume of traffic in the vicinity of Martinsville Speedway on Friday, November 1, Saturday, November 2 and Sunday, November 3.

For the race being held on Sunday, November 3, the Virginia Department of Transportation encourages race fans driving to and from Martinsville Speedway to follow the recommended traffic patterns listed below and as posted on signs and message boards.

VDOT will place many signs and changeable message boards throughout the region to assist travelers. Vehicular and pedestrian traffic will be heavy. Traffic is being routed to the speedway in certain patterns to minimize overall congestion as much as possible. Watch for the speed limit to reduce gradually from 65 mph to 35 mph on the Route 220/Route 58 Bypass as you approach the speedway.

  • From Roanoke, Stuart and areas north and west of Martinsville: Race fans traveling south on Route 220 and east on Route 58 should use the Route 58/220 Bypass past the speedway interchange and turn right onto the access road that leads into the speedway. The entrance is located one mile east of the Route 220 interchange and may provide easier access. Signs are in place designating the entrance to the speedway.
  • From Danville and areas east of Martinsville: Motorists on the Route 58 Bypass should follow signs directing them to use the track’s back gate. This entrance is located off the bypass, east of the track.
  • From Greensboro and areas south of Martinsville: Motorists should watch for electronic message boards and obey police directing traffic. Through traffic should use the left lane.

Those attending the race should closely follow directional information and plan to arrive early and expect heavy traffic and delays throughout the area.

Martinsville lodging

On a normal weekend, our area has plenty of airbnb listings. There is only 1 current listing available race weekend at $400 per night. If you have an extra room, space to park a camper, or whole house available for the weekend, this could be a fairly easy way to make some extra money with supporting tourism in our area.

Property Taxes

I have looked at various properties for sale and I see the property taxes differ in % within the city. I am not sure what to expect. Is property assessed value equal to market value or done by a formula set by the city? Did the property taxes recently increased, because it seems higher than when I last looked.

5 Way Intersection

This is the first 5 way intersection I've literally ever seen in my life. If I were to turn slightly left to continue on Church (route shown on maps), which lane do I wait in? Which light do I wait for? My Google maps says to stay in the middle lane but that lane has a straight arrow. I assume I'd wait for the left turn arrow to turn green while waiting in the middle lane?

Where's a roundabout when ya need one....
