Hi, I'm a WVU student and I'm doing research for my English class, if you have the time could you please take this quick survey for my class? My topic is why are so many West Virginians' staying/leaving the state. I'm trying to get a broad demographic so a response is very appreciated.
Be completely honest. the college search has been rough.
Here's a carefully curated playlist dedicated to new independent French producers. Several electronic genres covered but mostly chill. The ideal backdrop for relaxation and concentration. Perfect for staying focused during my study sessions or relaxing after work.

Hello everyone,
I’m an international student and I recently received an offer of admission from Marshall University for a Master’s in Health Informatics. I’m really happy and grateful for this opportunity, but I’m still considering whether I should apply to other universities like IUPUI, UT Health Houston, and the University of Minnesota.
My concerns are:
Visa Rejection Risk: I’m worried that attending a university with a lower rank or high acceptance rate might increase the chances of visa rejection. Does choosing a higher-ranked university improve visa approval chances? Also, Huntington is a smaller city compared to larger cities in the USA like Houston. Could this impact my visa prospects?
Research Opportunities: I want to make sure I have access to good research opportunities during my program. How do the research facilities and support at Marshall compare to those at the other universities I’m considering?
Tuition and Financial Aid: The fees seem to be quite similar across these universities. Are there significant differences in terms of scholarships, assistantships, or financial aid that could influence my decision?
Curriculum and Faculty: How does the curriculum and the standard of professors at Marshall University compare to the other options I’m considering?
CAHIIM Accreditation: Only a few universities have CAHIIM accreditation( to ensure the standards of the health informatics program) for Msc Health Informatics programs, and Marshall University is the only CAHIIM-accredited program in West Virginia. How important is this accreditation in terms of job opportunities and overall program quality?

I would greatly appreciate any advice or experiences from current students or alumni, especially international students who have been in a similar situation. Your guidance would be very helpful.
Thank you!
Any current CS students, alumni, or prospective applicants out there? Any info would be much appreciated. Just trying to get an idea of what the department might be like. I applied to the master's program for Spring '24, but I'd be interested in hearing from anyone about their experience with the department/school/specific faculty or course, etc.

Anybody want a couch for cheap? It’s in good shape & comes apart into several pieces to make transporting easier.
I was asking the lifeguard at the rec about swimming clubs or lessons and she mentioned a social media platform that is similar to Reddit, anonymous and a lot of Marshall students use it as billboard for questions. Anyone know what it is?

So I am a incoming freshman and I have been wondering when will we find out what dorms we will get I am not to worried about it because I won't be paying for housing luckily.
I have also been slowly getting stuff together for my dorm room but I don't want to buy things that would be unnecessary or that won't be used so any tips would be helpful.
I’m looking to purchase Marshall memorabilia such as footballs, jerseys, trophy’s, player rings etc. I’m local to the area so could buy whole collections if you are selling or individual items. Please message me if you have anything you are looking to part with.
Hey! I know this isn’t the most active sub but I’m an online transfer from Florida (Orlando) but keep it pretty short I was wondering if anyone had any experience taking online courses at Marshall especially majoring in English or what are your general thoughts on the English dept. Thanks in advance
Hello everyone! I am a prospective student of Marshall, I hope you can help me with a question.
My father is a Marshall alum and grew up near campus. His parents used to run a diner in the area so we have always had a lot of Marshall memorabilia in the house. I am in search of a very specific item that I can't track down anywhere.
In the mid to late 90s the Marshall bookstore used to sell a tapestry throw blanket that had the Marco logo below on both sides. Had green and white fringe all around. Green on one side and the reverse white on the other.
My dad loved this blanket and I would love to find him one again. Does anyone know where I could find one or have a pic of one so I know they're still out there? It's an odd request but figured it was worth a shot to ask!
Hello, fellow students. I have a request for the admins and SGO officials of Marshall.
I read in an old article that MU had switched from PepsiCo to Coca-Cola as its main soda provider. The one thing complicating my request is that article's age: it was posted in 2014. Plus I still see Pepsi vending machines all over campus...
Anyway, if Marshall DOES do at least some business with Coca-Cola, may I request a petition to have a Coke Freestyle machine installed in the food court? I just really miss the communal soda fountain from back in my undergrad years, and I'd really rather not have to make a long round-trip to Wendy's and back over a soda fountain. Not to mention that Coke Freestyle has its own dedicated mixing app, which I'd rather not install without knowing that I'll use it regularly.
