Hi! I’m a 21-year-old woman struggling to come up with ideas for my Christmas list. I’d love suggestions for trendy products that could elevate my routine—things that are perfect to ask for as a gift from parents without feeling awkward as an adult. For context, I’m a natural blonde with green eyes, and I have a neutral-to-cool skin tone. Thanks in advance! I’ll take any recommendations because I am definitely not a makeup expert!
TLDR: Golden in NYX concealer in GOLDEN = ????? in estee lauder foundation.
This color MELTS into my skin. I have melasma and really need more coverage.
I'm using this concealer as a MF foundation... but it just doesn't cut it.
I look dirty under my makeup with all my dark spots (fk you birth control)
I'm seeing lovely things about "Estée Lauder Double Wear 24-Hour Maximum Cover Camouflage Foundation for Face and Body SPF 15 | Covers Scars & Tattoos"
But that price tag. it hurtses us.
Does anyone have a similar skin tone and use this 24hr foundation?
The price tag means I don't want to mess this up. :P
Thank you <3
I have a very hard time finding foundation, I'm very pale and cool toned. I have a difficult time finding a semi-afforble, matte foundation that I like. I enjoy Haus Labs 060 foundation and neutrogena hydro boost in natural ivory (this one is ok, but I'm not crazy about the finish or coverage). Any recommendations?
No matter what primer I use my foundation ends up like this. For reference this is the Nars light reflecting foundation. I am not sure what I am doing wrong. I have tried this and many other foundations (dewy, matte, natural, liquid, stick) with several different primers (milk hydrogrip, face base, benefit porefessional etc) and this is always the end result. Any ifea what can be causing this?
Hi, i am not that experienced in make up yet and usually buy at drug stores and had to come to realize that the last primer i bought and loved got discontinued. So now i am looking for an alternative, although i am not sure what to look for while doing that. It was 'Angel Veil' by NYX, was supposed to be skin perfecting, and i loved the way it made my skin look. Not really looking for a highly mattifying or glowy finish, just a natural touch. Have any of you used that one too and found something similar or have other recommendations?
I’ve been thinking about purchasing the Auric Mirage Shift cheek palette (the lightest palette), but before I do, I was wondering if anyone here has tried it? I think it looks beautiful, and I want to support Sam, but $88 is a lot of money to spend blindly. Unfortunately there don’t seem to be many reviews up on YouTube yet.
If you’ve tried it, please let me know what you think!
I used Estée Lauder double wear in the colour Ecru 1N2. I took this photo in front of a window.
Also looking for recommendations on how to pop a bit more. I like the more natural look, I apply blush and contour and then I blend it into oblivion because I feel I look clownish. Then I take a photo when out and I look very pale. So with this as the base, any recommendations?

I’ve had this issue for as long as I can remember. I apply and blend my concealer, let it dry, reblend again (if needed) before applying powder with a dry puff sponge. In a matter of minutes, it creases. I think it’s from the wetness of my eyes… is there anything I can do to help this?! I’ve tried numerous different powders and concealers, combos, blending methods, etc. nothing works! Thanks in advance. (In this pic, I’m wearing Colourpop no filter concealer in light ten blended out with a beauty blender and set with O/S translucent powder on a makeup puff)
I absolutely despise with a burning passion glittery highlighters. When i do my makeup, i like to have a nice glow on my cheek that isnt too subtle but also isnt just arts and craft glitter on my face. And you can downvote me for this but this very strongly includes the rare beauty powder highlighter, the liquid one is fine, but the powder one is so glittery that i gave it to my sister who uses it as an eyeshadow instead. Some highlighters have glitter but show veryy naturally on the skin like the lancome one and the givenchy shimmer powder which unfortunately got discontinued.
Looking for suggestions for a pore filling, acne safe, long wearing primer. Does this exist? Combo skin, open to high end or drugstore options. Currently mixing primers and it’s a hassle. Bonus points if suggestions come in a travel size also. TIA
I'm 51 and have just recently started playing with makeup - I've gone with a pretty natural look most of my life, depending on tinted moistuizer and basic makeup to get me through. Due to a dedicated skincare routine, I've got pretty decent skin. I've just started to explore using undereye concealer - I've always skipped it because of creasing, but it's become unavoidable. But I find that either my skin or the makeup "pills" as I put the concealer on under my eyes when I use the primer. Are you supposed to use primer under concealer? Is it possibly a formula conflict between the Tatcha and the Westman Atelier. I can't find any tutorials that show me this kind of thing, and I have a LOT to learn. Any suggestions?
So I've had 4 eye infections in the past 5 months and can't figure out why this is happening for the life of me.
Genuinely think it may have been caused by me using Neutrogena makeup wipes to remove my eye makeup (+ accidentally not taking it all off properly).
Anyways, I'm purging my makeup collection + trying to start fresh while I take a break from eye makeup... :( It's horrible + my self esteem is shot to hell, but I can't risk any more eye issues.
For context, I've never had problems with my eyes until now, and have been wearing makeup daily for the past decade.
Now I'm wondering how often do you guys throw out your products? Like eyeshadow palettes, mascara, and eyeliner.
++ Has anyone had problems with L'oréal Infallible eyeliners? I was using their precision felt liquid liner + their gel mechanical liner a lot in the weeks leading up to this horrific eye armageddon...
I'm only 22 and am so scared that I'll never be able to wear eye makeup again- If anyone has had an experience like this, please message me
:((
Hello! My perfect lip colour was NARS velvet matte pencil in Sex Machine. I was gutted when they discontinued these and I’m almost out of my last one. Does anyone know of a dupe in terms of formula and colour?! Thanks!
Hey everyone, I’m curious to hear your thoughts on whether the Glow Up show on BBC is worth pursuing. As an aspiring makeup artist, I applied and made it to the final stages of the selection process. However, I’d love to get some feedback on how beneficial it might be for my future career opportunities. Has anyone here participated in it or know someone who has? I want to understand if it really helps in gaining exposure in the industry or if it’s just a fun experience. Your insights would be really helpful, especially if you have any personal experiences or know how it has impacted others in their makeup careers. I’m eager to learn more about the potential benefits and drawbacks of being part of the show. Thanks in advance for sharing your opinions!
as a background, i have POTS and over the last 3ish years as my symptoms have worsened, i've become so sensitive to eye makeup. eyeshadow, mascara, eyeliner, anything. my eyes end up feeling heavy and tired, i don't get puffiness or redness at all. i've tried "ophthamologist-approved/formulated" brands to no avail. anything vegan, "clean", etc also does not work. even popular ones like almay and physician's formula. i was having a ton of luck with the honest beauty's mascara but now my eyes get that heavy feeling again. ilia was okay but transferred to my lower lid horribly. i've found that dimethicone, paraffin, and talc are the worst ingredients.
i'd hate to just stop wearing makeup. i cosplay and makeup is a major part of that. i am open to seeing an allergist.
Hey! I haven't been able to keep up with the new releases or with trends for a couple of years now and I need recommendations for new products. This is how my makeup bag looks right now and I'm planning on doing a big purchase of makeup soon, so I need to know how to improve on these! Totally love these, but I'm looking for something better. Any help?
I asked for a natural makeup to enhance my features and she did amazing 😻 This makeup was for a party, my question is how can I turn this makeup into a daily makeup without all the lashes and contour ?
