Maher and panel have an adult, complex discussion on why terrorists attack, Bill explains, "Empires should expect some kind of blowback."

RFK Jr.

Just to show how not woke I am, I have to ask, can a guy with a voice like RFK Jr. really be President? Even if he wasn’t a conspiracy theory propagator and actually sounded like a reasonable person? 5 minutes of listening to him felt like 30.

Do you think anyone gives instruction to the first guest?

Every time Bill finishes his 1 on 1 conversation with that guest, he more or less says "Ok I gotta go to the panel" he gets to and walks over.

Then the guest either stays seated, stands up and sits back down, walks off the stage before or after Bill can have proper goodbye, and I've even seen where it looks like they're going to follow him up to the panel.

This is such a niche thing but when I first noticed it years ago now I always watch that guest to see how awkward they look and what they do as Bill walks away

Why do I find Scott Galloway a supercilious blowhard when I’m mainly in agreement with him?

The panel during the interview...

Something that's always on my mind when Bill walks from the interview to the panel:

What do the 2 panel members do during the interview? Do they sit there awkwardly in silence in the dark without talking to each other, or I wonder if their mics are turned off and they can chat.

Scott Galloway had a brilliant line from this week's appearance with Bill what was it?

He was talking about young people saying that you will never get _____ from a screen or something similar... what was it?

Will he ever actually get a vaccine expert on the show?

Bill's anti vax devolution been a huge disappointment to me as someone in the pharmaceutical field. I am practically pulling my hair out listening to his arguments and how he has no guests who actually know the science who can push back on his views. He generally has a diverse array of guests on a decent amount of topics but literally never on this one. Neil de Grasse Tyson doesn't count in the slightest on this topic. The closest guest based on their actual responses was Seth MacFarlane.

It's really starting to piss me off hearing people like RFK with absolutely moronic opinions on vaccine science spouting absolute bullshit about COVID vaccines. If Bill is gonna go on his fucking soap box about his body and vaccines so God damn much, how about he get an actual expert on the topic to come on his show. It's eye opening and definitely makes me second guess all of his opinions on every other subject he talks about.

State of the Sub

Can we get some more more moderation in this sub? I’m just tired of every other post shitting on Bill or the show. If you don’t like it, don’t watch it. I mean, I would think this sub would be a place for fans of the show to gather and discuss issues. And I’m not saying you have to agree 100% with everything he says. But this is getting ridiculous. And to call anyone that agrees with Bill a conservative is absolutely ridiculous.

Does anyone find these funny? Did they used to be? They just derail the panel conversation.

I hardly ever even smile at these mid-show cheer segments.

“Well we were talking about serious shit, like abortion or Palestine and Israel, but let’s switch it up and do some of the lamest jokes that late night television has ever seen with our paid woohoo man!”

Does anyone find these things good? Give me 10 more minutes of panels and save the jokes for the monologue and new rules.

I’m confused, is Bill in favor of Israel killing women and children?

I mean, it seems to me that the college campus protests are at least partly in response to the humanitarian disaster and disproportionate response to the terrorist attacks by Israel. I get that Americans have no room to talk given our disproportionate response to 9/11 but he and Don Lemon and Scott Galloway make no mention at all of the rational reasons for protesting war. It is super disappointing.

Returning to John Cleese on Club Random: His "psychic" knowing things about him she couldn't have picked up from research.

Just finished the episode yesterday and Cleese waxes seriously about specifics that make him believe his psychic is tapped into some greater knowledge. He tells an anecdote about her diving that he has a ring-tailed lemur species named after him.

There's no way she could have known that, he says, with Maher agreeing that it did seem obscure.

Except, of course, that it is listed in Cleese's wikipedia page:

The Bemaraha woolly lemur (Avahi cleesei), also known as Cleese's woolly lemur, is native to western Madagascar. The scientist who discovered the species named it after Cleese, mainly because of Cleese's fondness for lemurs and his efforts at protecting and preserving them. The species was first discovered in 1990 by a team of scientists from the University of Zurich led by Urs Thalmann but was not formally described as a species until 11 November 2005.

It bums me out when people who have lead the charge on not buying into charlatan bullshit end up being the marks.

It's on us to remain vigilant against the liars and diligent about calling it out.

Thank you for reading :)

Edit: I'm calling a party foul on myself: /u/thirdlost already covered this a month ago - my apologies good redditors.

Jillian Michaels is anti-semaglutide because it threatens her racket

O Jeez, it stops working? Not at all like untrained people launching themselves into high intensity exercise and adopting disordered restrictive eating habits in a desperate attempt to lose weight which we all know have enormously high success rates and which are famous for people sticking to long term. What a shill

'Son of Hamas' Mosab Hassan Yousef should be a guest on Bill Maher

In this Youtube video, the son of a co-founder of Hamas is speaking out against the Palestinian terrorist group once again, this time to a pro-Israel, anti-disinformation group on the campus of the University of Michigan on Tuesday night.

I would love to see him as a guess on Maher.

Do you think Bill is right about why people vote for Trump?

He admits the right is worse, but points out "why" conservatives think Biden s America is worse than Trump's. Bill sees that conservative voters are more afraid of puberty blockers and big titty trans woman teacher than trump. Its possible Bill assumed this from anecdotal experience, because people usually debunk these fears as greatly amplified. plus, I don't see how fascism is less scary than big titty trans woman teacher.

People who vote for Trump get different facts altogether from different news outlets. They don't know how bad Trump's mental decline truly is, they don't know what project 2025 is, etc.they don't have the whole picture. Imo, that is on them, and their environment. And Bill, to the contrary says "that's half of America you can't hate them." Maybe not hate, but I do blame them if they don't get their facts straight before choosing their president.

And that wokeness can get out of control is probably not the issue. As someone who agrees that liberals should get their shit together whenever possible, I don't know if that would solve the case of the angry conservative voter.

Even if liberals didn't do any stupid shit, I think that in today's digital age we'd all still be siloed in our respective media outlet bunkers. Really, if we never saw pictures of the big titty trans teacher, do you really think conservatives would not be under the hypnosis of fox news or newsmax anymore? Something tells me that if liberals didn't have their own flaws, conservative media would find a way to make Biden and the left look bad in the eyes of conservative voters anyways.

In other words he thinks the fears of conservative voters are very real. My concern is that these fears are always amplified by the media that would just fabricate another fear if the current ones were gone.
