At the foot of Broad Street where shadows creep,
Stands our Bridewell in silence deep.
Once a jail with iron bars tight,
Now a library bathed in light.
But when the moon is cold and pale,
The walls remember cries and wail.
Echoes stir where voices plead,
Ghosts of old still haunt the freed.
In the aisles the books grow still,
Whispers crawl a creeping chill.
Footsteps echo but none appear,
A ghostly judge forever near.
From cells long gone the chains still clink,
A spectral hand pulls you to think—
What lingers here from days of dread,
Where the living walked among the dead?
So tread with care when night is thin,
The Bridewell’s doors may let you in.
But what comes out in dark's embrace,
May carry home a haunted face.
A wonderful time of year, except for all the sheer amount of dog shite that appears;. In the dark, early walkers take stride, with their dogs trotting close by their side. But they leave quite a mess, which they never confess, and the footpaths become a foul ride!
As many of you may know, there's a new McDonald's being built in on the Castledawson road next to Lidl.
What are your thoughts on it? Do you think it's a positive addition to the town, providing more job opportunities and a new fast-food option? Or are you concerned about the potential impact on local businesses and traffic, especially since it’s in an already busy area near two primary and secondary schools?
Also, do you think this will change the town’s vibe in any way? Will it encourage more people to come to Magherafelt or just add to the fast-food competition?
Post a few ideas for things to do this weekend.
Any events happening?
Football/Rugby/Cricket games?

If you had the choice to bring any the following to our town, what would it be?
Evening guys, I've started a new Magherafelt community since this one seems a bit dead. It'd be great if we could get an active reddit for the town and turn it into a resource for those seeking information about Magherafelt
Might be a controversial take but Mark at Coach I reckon, there might be better about but his are good every time
Howdy everyone. As the tile says I'm not from Magherafelt originally, moved here a little while ago. How have you found living here? Have you had trouble fitting in or making friends?. Had any experiences you'd like to share about what it's been like being a resident in this town?
:D

21 year old moving from Belfast to the area, don't know a single soul in magherafelt anyway or anywhere to make friends in the area. Anything to see on my first day there
Just curious as I've started and the area seems devoid of them!

I'm telling you they're the best thing since fadge baps.
