Me and my wife are coming to Madrid this weekend. Any recommendations for night life? I’m 34 and Shez 32. I saw some places close at 6 a.m. What’s the best time to go?
hey everyone! I currently live in Madrid and have explored a lot with friends and family, but I’m looking for a lovely cozy solo date for November. I love book stores and cafes, but I would love to hear recommendations for some and also what you guys like to do on solo dates in Madrid! For reference I am close to the O’Donnell/Goya stations.
I'm from California and will be in Madrid with my family on Thanksgiving Day. Any suggestions for a memorable Spanish dinner? Looking for Spanish cuisine even though it's an American holiday. My kids love all sorts of food, so I'm not looking for "kid meals". Seeking a local vibe. Thank you!
We are traveling to Europe at the end of November, and have a 6 hour layover in Madrid. Looking for recommendations on a nice lunch spot while we’re there.
Hello! My husband and I will be staying near Plaza Mayor and will be needing to take a train to Seville (round trip) I'd like to book this in advance and would love and welcome all advice. This is our first time in Europe so please explain it like I'm five lol. Thanks in advance!
EDIT: Madrid to Seville**
Hi there! I just moved to Spain and my friends and I are spending the weekend in Madrid. Are there any spots that do Open Mics on the weekend?
I just came out of the poetry closet and I want to surprise my friends by performing some of my poems for them. We just want to experience something different and thought this would be a good idea.
Any area is fine, we’re going to be everywhere and I can get info for future references as well. Thanks in advance! <3
Hey guys,
I'm going to Madrid next week and since I have a spare day I was thinking about visiting either Zaragoza or Toledo/Segovia for a day trip. I know that the latter is pretty ambitious, but I want to make the most of it while I'm in this amazing country. Which option would you recommend and why? :) If you have any other tips what should I visit not too far from Madrid, I'd be happy to read them as well.
I have an early international flight mid-December leaving Madrid at 6am. I'll be coming from Bilbao (unsure if via train or flight still) the day before and want to explore as much as I can before heading to the airport (will store my luggage in a locker).
I'm on the younger side and planning to pull an all nighter/stay up ~ is night life still active in December near the holidays? Any recommendations for late night, safe area activities (~23:00-03:00)? Or would it be better to just book a hotel for the night?
HI all, wanted to ask as we are planning on an accommodation near the station Nueva Numancia, wanted to ask is the area safe in general
Is this drink a thing? I’ve read about how popular it is but when I asked about it at a couple of places, nobody seems to know about it. The one place that did said to they didn’t have the anise to make it. Am I chasing windmills here?
It took me about a week, but I couldn’t figure out why anyone would order such a small beer until I understood the beauty of a tapas crawl. ¡Buen Provecho!
I will be in Madrid and after visit Barcelona as tourist. I want to buy train ticket from Madrid to Barcelona. which web site (omio, renfe, trainline etc) is the best for this. and there are different train companies (avio/ave/iryo etc) which one I must prefer? and which stations.
Thank you very much in advance
Hi Guys,
Most probably will be visiting Madrid early 2025, so wanted just to ask how is the safety in the city in general (besides having common sense on acting normally), any places not to go to/visit and for a 5 days trip not going to any over the top restaurants, what would be a suitable budget?
Thanks to all!
Hi everyone, we are thinking of going to Madrid on the 1st of January and we were wondering if any restaurants and shops will be open that day. Any input is appreciated!
Hello, people of Madrid!
I’m from Brazil, and for my 30s I’m planning my sabbatical year for 2025. I’ll be in Madrid for two weeks in the first months of the year and am looking for authentic, local experiences. I love music (I play guitar!) and prefer to skip the touristy spots. I want to explore like a local—finding hidden gems, cool restaurants, bars, music venues, and any unique spots that only locals know about.
Your recommendations would mean a lot, and I might thank you with a beer or two!
X,
Alexa
I'm planning to go to Madrid, but I have seen prices of hotels in the center of Madrid and I can't afford it, but I have seen that if you go at the outsides of Madrid prices are better and if you rent a car I think is better than paying a hotel in Madrid. For instance 80 euros in Alcorcon meanwhile in Madrid is up to 200 for same hotel. Can someone help me to see if this is a good plan or not.
travelling to madrid next week for a few days. is there an easy way to find local folks who can show around the city (not the touristy places) & hang with in the evenings?
Any recommendations for basque restaurant lunch or dinner? Not going to be able to make it to Basque Country so figure this is the next best thing. The more homey the better
Hey Everyone!
I'm visiting Madrid on end of November 22-27. We will be 3 girls planning to stay in el centro de madrid
And am wondering what to wear at that time of the year. Will it be rainy? Or just cold?
And if anyone can help me prep for a nice nightlife schedule full of rooftops, cultural experience and nice vibes.
And what are your recommendations for day and night plans, trips and experiences??
Also, regarding food am on keto diet what are my options?
I do know some spanish as well so hopefully lovely people of madrid wont laugh at my trying to remember.
Thank you alllll
Hello Reddit, this is my first post ever. I’m planning a 3 day trip with my 17 year old daughter next April. I’m not a big fan of Airbnb’s but hotel prices are really crazy. I keep reading about the housing issues in Madrid and not to stay on airbnbs. Would it be possible to find a hotel no more than $200 per night ? Thank you all in advance
Hello, I've been to Madrid many moons ago as I studied nearby as an Erasmus student. My husband has not. We will have 2.5 days in the city. We could love to have some recommendations of what areas to stay in in the city that are safe and fun but not overly touristy? We don't need or want really to be right on Plaza Mayor but close to a metro would be important. We love great food, tapas, street food and also more high end tasting style eateries. We would love some great brunch and coffee spots too. I am perfume obsessed so would love some tips on niche stores (not snooty ones!) and where there might be a sizeable Sephora as well. We do love cultural attractions too but time for this will be limited. Hotel wise we would love a 4 star, somewhere comfortable, clean and well located.
I'm looking to book one night in Madrid on 21st March 2025 and the hotel prices seem crazy. Does anybody know if there's a particular reason for this?
Any suggestions for where I can buy some men’s jewelry? Not looking for anything expensive but maybe like a chain necklace or bracelet.
Hello! Would anyone be able to recommend some yummy decent priced food places to go to around universidad? Thank you!
