Machine embroidery is an embroidery process whereby a sewing machine or embroidery machine is used to create patterns on textiles. It is used commercially in product branding, corporate advertising, and uniform adornment. Hobbyists also machine embroider for personal sewing and craft projects.

I am trying to start making some patches for fun for my jackets and bags. I am using some cotton twill from JoAnn and a tear away stabilizer. I have it hooped nice and snug.
But it seems like either my fabric is too thick or maybe I need to redo my design to make it so the underlying threads aren’t embroidered (too many layers?) because toward the end of the pattern, the needle ends up sticking and the pattern gets off kilter because of this and it starts embroidering elsewhere.
I wanted to make sure I am using material and stabilizer people have had success with first. If I can get that and try again, I’ll know more if it’s too complicated of a design maybe? I can post pics if it would help. I am using a BabyLock Vesta.
For those of you making patches, would you be willing to share where and what you buy for these? Thanks so much!
Hey all Noob here and im trying to figure out how I can convert a log from jpeg to pes, preferably with an online program or such like as I dont have sepseparate software for this. Any golden tips please?
Hi all.
I am seeking having a my own illustration of my pets to be digitized.
I was going to then go my local library and use their Brother PE800 with the file.
However, I would like to know if anyone else has any send in services where I can just send in the file to have embroidered on a single sweater ?
I do not need bulk orders.
Etsy? Local? Or online platforms?
Any information would be appreciated:)
Hey everyone, I’ve been machine embroidering for around 10 years now. Just for personal use/fun. I don’t sell anything I make but like to make gifts for friends/ family. I currently have a Singer Futura XL580 that I’ve had for about 6 or so years and honestly it has been the WORST machine ever due to constant issues with the embroidery attachment (even after sending it off for repair) Anyways, after spending the last week stressing over a Christmas present I’m working on and my machine not cooperating with me, I’ve decided I’m in the market for a new machine. Since I just do this for myself, I’m not looking for anything super expensive. Really 2k max. When researching I came across the Bernette B70/79 it has a decent sized embroidery area (6x10) and seems to be capable of doing the projects I typically like to do (tshirts, blankets, super easy stuff haha). Does anyone own this machine and would be able to give me your honest opinion on it/opinions on alternatives you would suggest instead?
What’s a good Digitizing software for Mac? Decent auto-digitizing options? Fonts? User Friendly but able to grow
Thank you for the help in advance.

I purchased a design package from Embroidery Library, cannot understand what is going on here - is this design, is this me, is this how I use the software? It got wrong.
Several colors shifted and the black outline does not match what was already embroidered. I tried two designs from the same pack so far, with the same result.
I am using cotton towels with two layers of wash-away stabilizer on the back. The machine is Bernette B79 YaYa Han and the software is Bernina Embroidery Creator 9.
What I did with the design:
I am new to embroidery and to the software, before than I tried a few designs from Bernina Library in multiple colors, combining them, rotating, changing size, and it worked well. So I decided to try those, and it went horribly bad. There were a few hick-ups during the embroidery process, but the color shift started even before then. On the photos, I have already removed the towels from the hoop and cut the stabilizer at the back.
Hi everyone,
I’m in the process of embroidering 30 fleece horse coolers (blankets, basically) and everything has gone really well … until the last piece, of course.
I saw another post asking about how to remove stitches and the responses got me started researching tools like the Wahl Peanut and Peggy’s Stitch Eraser. The reviews for both tools are very mixed so I’ve come here.
I’d love to get some other recommendations for techniques & tools, or hear your experiences with either of the above mentioned tools. I’m ready to throw in the towel using various seam rippers.
Thanks in advance!
For some reason, my text didn’t turn out on the canvas tote I was working on. It looks like the initial outlining stitch went down and then nothing else. Everything else im pleased with- the images came out perfect.
What’s the best way to rip these stitches out? My seam ripper can’t seem to get in there, it is super tight.
Hello! I came across the embroidery machine Brother F540e recently. I was thinking about purchasing it, but I found out that it needs to be used with an app (Artspira I think), that will cost 12 bucks every month.
My question is: If I can make my own digital designs on procreate, do I really need to pay for that stupid app to even make the machine useable? Can it not just start embroidering any image I give it?
What do I need the app for?
I am only interested in sending my own designs over to the machine via Wifi or USB. None of the other Features of the app, like premade designs, changing hue/sat or AI stuff.
Thanks a lot!
I’m looking to embroider on leather in the 2 to 4 inch size range maybe twice a month, as I’ll be embroidering on shoes I’m hand making. Predominantly embroidering a logo. I’ve read online that you need to lower the embroidery speed of the machine down low in order to get the best results. Just curious if anyone has tried a non industrial machine and had luck?
Hello friends!!! I have a quick question about my machine, the Brother pe900. When I put multiple designs onto one hoop to embroidery it makes me change the thread between every color per design. Meaning - if I have black, white, and pink on design #1 and green, white, and pink on design #2 (again at the same time) it will do #1's white area then make me switch to pink to finish the design instead of moving to do the white on design #2. So essentially if I'm trying to make 3 exact copy's of a design and each design has let's say 5 colors, instead of me changing thread 5 times and doing all of each color at once it will make me change the thread 15 times to finish it. Essentially does the designs one st a time instead of more efficiently.
Not sure if this is an issue other have - I haven't found anything online about this. Also if this is the wrong sub lmk. If anyone knows how to deal with this I'd appreciate it so much!!!!
After seeing a few posts on here I’m beginning to wonder a few things…
Is the fabric supposed to be right side up or upside down on the hoop?
Is the bobbin thread supposed to be the same color as the top thread or can I use one color all the way through?
If I’m doing a hand towel should I use stabilizer?
I’m brand new to machine embroidery sorry for the silly questions.
Can dtitch dense designs be multi hooped? I have an SE700 and can only do 4x4 but recently learned about repositional hoops so I was wondering if it'd look weird or not
