I moved my desk setup to the basement and decided to renovate everything and go with an all black desk setup.
The desk is a 12ft long butcher block with the ends cut to the angles of the walls. So the inner edge is a little over 7 ft.
Left side is the setup for work and content creation and soon to be gaming. The right side is to organize my most used tools, build things, and film products for my YouTube channel.
If there is interest, I’ll post a list of all the items on here.
I’m looking for a good sized ultrawide/curved monitor… between. 34-45”
I’m looking to use my 2022 MacBook Air M2 in clamshell mode, and plug in 1 cord and have it charge my computer as well… and basically be a docking station…. (Use a Apple Magic Keyboard and a Logitech Mac mouse)
I would prefer to not have a hub if possible but if it’s completely needed I would be ok…. Recommendations?
Thanks!!
Photo attached for kinda of my thoughts….
Did a refresh of the setup this weekend. Loving the vertical monitor setup. Just going to take me a minute to get used to it. If anyone has any tips to get the most out of it, let me know!
Used to have a 27” iMac squeezed in here. Happy to declutter.
i have recently bought this 24 inch apple cinema display thunderbolt, I have loved it but only have one concern.
That concern is that on the right it is plugged into my m2 MBP , and I don't know weather it is good to have it plugged in all day so i can use it while in dock mode, or only plug it in when it is low on battery, by plug it in i mean the charger.
Currently what I do is I have the MBP lid up when it has battery, but once it reaches 20% i charge it and put the lid down (like i want too) and let it charge until it hits 100% and then repeat the cycle
Except I want to have the lid down now, it just makes my setup look better and my only concern is if having it plugged in all day is bad and will run up the cycles because idk how it works, currenlty ot has 95% battery with 178 cycles and i got it for christmas
Also if anyone has this monitor and uses a ps5, can you please link an adapter for Mini Dp too hdmi? my next step is too bring my ps5 up here and connect it.
Desk is a bit on the smaller side but making it work and helps with not overstuff it with things that are not used much. Monitor is LG 40 ultrawide which serves as USB hub KVM kinda thing with just one cable switch. Now testing the second monitor portable 4k too see how worth it is to the space it takes
My WFH setup - LG 43” monitors, Mac M1 Studio, speakers that attempt to compensate for my personal inadequacies, etc.
It’s great, except 43” monitors are slightly too big for desk use. There don’t seem to be any 16:9 monitors smaller than 43” but bigger than 32” … why is that?
Got tired of my LG 5K’s unattractive design, so I upgraded. What a difference in image and build quality!
Doesn't look the cleanest but very functional!
Got a new desk and I’m loving it for my setup! Any thoughts about it are welcome (suggestions, things you like, things you’d improve, etc.)
I’ve had this setup for the last few years. I’ve got two MacBooks that I’m using. The one in the middle (work computer) connects to the big screen and then I have my personal computer underneath that connects to the monitor on the left. I just got a new iPad Air 13” and would love to incorporate. Would love some suggestions from this community. Thanks in advance!
