Mystery Science Theater 3000
Forced by evil scientists to watch bad "B" movies until he breaks, a host and a bunch of captive robots comment on the films to keep sane. During each movie, the host and robots perform skits or songs, known as host segments, that are usually related to that episode's film.
Wondering how to find "The Final Sacrifice," "Amazing Colossal Man," "I Was a Teenage Werewolf," the KTMA episodes and more? Check out this post.

I watch MST3K all the time on Pluto. I’m always curious what the daily numbers are for this channel? 500?
I'm watching all the Joel episodes on Youtube and I just noticed that Joel puts (or pretends to put) something in his mouth every time he whacks one of the big buttons. Like they are candy dispensers. What is the joke?
Basically title! One of those hilarious quips, delivered in a pseudo-British accent, from Mike. Would love to know the episode! Thanks if you have any leads.
I’ll admit, when I was a kid, I really found myself more interested in the Mike era of Mst3k. I dunno, I always admired the more brotherly relationship he had with the bots, and I felt like the show got a bit more “edgier” after Joel took off. That said, I just as easily enjoyed Joel as host and had a good handful of episodes from his era I loved watching as a kid.
But as an adult, I have grown to like Joel a bit more while still having my love for Mike as host. Maybe it could be because I’ve grown to admire his big fatherly relationship he has with the bots. That and I also feel he had a bit more spice to his riffs personally.
All that aside though, Mike definitely kept the series going with the OG MST. I’ve just grown to have a bigger love for Joel with age.
What is the name of the song being played during the Halloween party in mst3k ep 405 Time Walker? It's been stuck on my head lately.
Thank you.
Help me out here: I’d like to be the Chicken of Tomorrow, but how can I be more the Man of Today?
I think it's actually been asked here before, but has anyone ever identified the little italo disco song that Sandra is listening to while playing her video game ("These days, people are ...")? It's not on the official soundtrack. Youtube link here: https://youtu.be/N7wkKXMlKYc?t=1082
It's pretty silly, but that little snippet gets stuck in my head and I'd love to find out what it is. The only thing that's screwed up is my head....!
So we all know “Women of the Prehistoric Planet” was meant to be the fourth episode of season 1. However, apparently the Comedy Channel at the time apparently couldn’t afford the rights, so Best Brains skipped over to episode 5 and filmed “The Corpse Vanishes” after “Mad Monster.”
Ultimately “Women” was the last episode to be filmed (production slate on twitch confirms it was recorded on 2/26/90, so the episode I guess must have aired in March in spite of being assumed to air in February), but was never re-numbered correctly, so ultimately it still had its 104 production code anyway, despite previous episodes referenced in the letters (“The Corpse Vanishes” and “Project Moonbase”), “Robot Holocaust” even being referenced at that, and Joel and the bots complaining about no color movies being featured in “Moonbase” and then excited that they got their first color movie in the next episode.
With all that aside though, let’s say things originally did work out from the start, and the entire episode had the puke green theater seats that ultimately didn’t last long. I wonder how the shade of green would have looked over the individual colors. Maybe perhaps too conflicting? Alas, we’ll never know.

I’d say this is one I’ve come to appreciate more with rewatches and age, but this is honestly one of season 1’s most enjoyable episodes in my opinion.
I remember back when I was 7/8 years old in 2000/2001 how mind-blown but excited I was getting to see my first season 1 episode via the Rhino VHS my parents were kind enough to buy for me at my local Suncoast (GOD I miss that store so much 😞) with the use of the cheaper sets, my introduction to Dr. Erhardt and hearing Servo with a different voice. The puke green theater seats were also pretty cool to see for the first time (I had seen clips from “The Corpse Vanishes” on “This is Mst3k” via my dad’s 11/21/92 (I think) airing of the documentary previously). I’d also seen “The Hellcats” a couple months previously on my dad’s February 1992 recording of the episode (you can find it on TarlCabot25’s channel), so it was cool getting to see the entire episode for the first time on a commercial VHS release.
But yeah, I’m glad this one was selected to be shown on Comedy Central in late 1995, and eventually released by Rhino in late 1999. Definitely a very enjoyable early season 1 episode with some pretty funny riffing and host segments.
My wife and I both love bad movies.
I turned on Snakeeater 3: His Law as tonight’s selection and saw a familiar name!
Touch of Satan is on the MST3k channel right now!
So, I wasn’t old enough to watch the show as it aired, but I’m curious….
Was Joel’s return highly publicized or did they drop a complete surprise on everyone?
